On November 11, 2021, Carnival Cruise Lines announced that Carnival's 3rd Excel-class ship would be named Carnival Jubilee and would home port in Galveston, Texas. This would be the largest Carnival Cruise Line ship the port has ever hosted and we've seen multiple Texas-sized touches throughout the construction process.
We set sail on the inaugural cruise for the Carnival Jubilee and took lots of photos and videos so we could redo this deep dive into the layout and features of this new Excel-class ship. Some features are very familiar from the sisters, Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, while other areas are truly unique. Check it out as we tour each deck, one at a time, and reveal the design details that went into building this massive ship from Chibang! to the Lido, there's always something happening on board.
Carnival Jubilee also introduced two completely new zones that host bars and restaurants that are exclusive to the ship. Currents and The Shores host a variety of new spaces with completely new theming compared to her sister ships. Our Complete Ship Tour walks you through these spaces and showcases some of the amazing eats found at these venues.
We tour each deck from the very top (Deck 19) to the very bottom (Deck 4), making stops at all of the changes along the way.

Blue Iguana is great! Always make it a point to eat there multiple times each sailing. Glad to hear you enjoyed Emeril's! We've had a few things from the menu there, but we're not big into seafood, so our options are a little limited. Enjoy your upcoming sailing on the Jubilee!

Have you guys by chance ever stayed at the Hampton Inn in Galveston? My husband and I think we saw you both outside the hotel and briefly spoke to you about how our Uber driver kept canceling our ride on us as we were waiting to go on our cruise on carnival Dream. I believe it was you waiting for someone to pick you both up. Not sure if you were just getting off your cruise or headed onto it. We just subscribed and we have a channel as well. TJ Fun 71

28:30 spa footage deck 5 ..secret sauna tip
It’s our favorite “secret space” on board. While it’s open to all, a lot of the time we had the entire sauna to ourselves. A great place to get away from if all and just relax. Enjoy!!
Another exciting and informative video! I will be rewatching for sure. Regarding Java Blu, did I hear correctly that some food items are included? What kind? How bout beverages? Also, am I correct thinking that there is an included Gelato area? Perhaps this may have been a different ship… 🤷♀️

Unfortunately none of the drinks are included, aside from drip coffee and lemonade. There isn't any included Gelato on Carnival ships. The Venezia is the only current ship that offers Gelato (same spot as JavaBlue on that ship), but it costs extra.
I believe there is an area in the buffet that has gelato. There were two or three different flavors each day. But my memory on that is a little bit fuzzy because it was also the area that had a different flavored cheesecake each day. Once we saw the cheesecake we stopped looking at the gelato. 😂
I use cbd for neuro pain taken orally this ship states you can’t take it. So I have to either drink or take pills. 🤬
Are locker rooms ,shower , coed sauna and relaxation area free to use?
Yes. All of those items are included in your cruise fare. The only relaxation area you can access is the one just outside of the locker rooms.
Are all the cove balconies on 5
On the Excel Class, yes. All cove balconies are located on deck 5
Are reservations required for Chibang? If so, when can you reserve?
Great question! You can make a reservation for any of the included venues on the ship when your dining time kicks in. If you have late dining scheduled, then your reservation requests can’t be made until your scheduled time. Cruise tip: when we sail on an Excel-class ship, we make sure to choose “anytime dining” to provide the most flexibility!
