Oh no. Hopefully raising the beds will fix the problem. Great tip on finding dead and green wood🍺🍺

I love the saying best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago.
    Next best time is today.
I’m planning on growing lots more trees this year both native and also fruit.
    Can’t wait for the progress.

We just moved into a new rental (October long weekend) I have 4 citrus trees one is going great due to its location being at the high end of the yard. The other three are at the bottom of the slope and they are struggling.
I also did the scratch test and they are all still alive but looking very sad.
I have been feeding them and also trying to help them. I’m planning on also digging them up and raising them once winter comes if they are still alive that is.
I just planted a few weeks ago some elderberry shrubs I also planted them slightly above the ground level and raised the soil up.
Mi then mulched them which I’ll keep doing and slowly build the height of the ground up wherever I want to plant more trees.
Yeah hope they are all doing much better now you have got them into higher ground.

Hey Hey, it's a shame and a huge setback losing all those trees, i konw you two put tons of work into getting them set and ready. i feel your pain in the loss, hopefully the new trees will do well during the next season. Have you and steve considerd digging a relief trench just befor the orchard, 3ft deep 2 ft wide, line with irregation pipe then fill with gravel, cover with garden cloth and top fill with soil. this might solve all of the overflow issues from the neighbors dam.

It's just disappointing to lose 3 years of work. We have actually put in drainage work between the dam and the orchard. We haven't shown that yet because there's a secret project going on in that area 🙂

I'm so sorry about your trees. I bet your neighbor feels terrible even though it's not their fault.
I am having the worst garden year ever. My tomatoes are in terrible shape and I have no idea why. Not even sure how to revitalize them either. ugh. Just the year for it I guess.

We are actually thinking to take our grapes out and do olives after helping our neighbour do his olive grove and get oil made.

We are hoping to pit in both olives and grapes. We have grapes in pots waiting to go in the ground 🙂

    It really is isn’t it.
Fruit trees are not cheap. Having to buy them twice really sucks.
