I am waiting for my wife to say I can’t watch you any longer. Just received the P1S, Milwaukee trim router, Dewalt plunge router kit and that is just the start of me watching you. Thank you for what you do. God Bless
All I know is I sure miss the old portercable router's and belt sander's. You can't even hardly find parts for them, probably the most iconic tools ever made for woodworking.
I own a Milwaukee, model 1000 D handle 1/2" drill with a right angle attachment and side handle that my dad bought in 1965. It's all made of aluminum and quite heavy but it still gets the job done. I took it into the Milwaukee repair center here in Houston for new brushes and the guy at the counter said he had never seen such an old drill still in service. Great for drilling with big auger bits for running wire or pipes in rafters and walls. The thing I like about Milwaukee is they still service most of their old tools.
It is honestly so freeing to get out of the single battery mindset. I understand it but once you get a couple battery bundles, you eventually just have a couple of each battery and then you can buy whatever fits the moment. Sometimes I don't need to spend Milwaukee prices on a Ryobi project or job.
The Festool Rotex RO90 if money allows is the small sander to get because it has dust collection for the delta pad. Only downside is the lack of cordless option. DeWALT has updated their Flexvolt tracksaw but the only change was the addition of the wireless vac activation feature.
Dang it, Matt! I dont have a single Milwaukee tool. Thanks to your constant reviews about these small sanders im going to be picking up the 3" as well as the small detail sander. You make me spend money😂😂😂😂. Love ALL your content!
Great video Matt, as always. Multi-oscillating tools, aka multi-tools, actually do oscillate, not just a side-to-side movement. That’s how you can turn your blade sideways to a 90 and it still cut. As far as Milwaukee , I’m a tool man and LOVE to buy and use tools, somehow have never pulled the trigger on any awesome Milwaukee tools, but they ARE making it harder not to!!
The DW735 planer proves you wrong. I would also take the Dewalt 10" table saw and 12" miter saw over the Mileaukee equivalents and i say this as a Milwaukee fanboy. Milwaukee doesnt have any corded table or miter saws, only cordless. As a woodworker, those tools are most likely stationary. Milwaukee has a few M12 sanders that are nice, but Dewalts main random orbit sander is brushless. Overall. I think the Mileaukee cordless platforms are better that Dewalt's cordless tools, but the Dewalt corded tools are critical for a woodworker.
I love the DW735. But I think it’s pretty much unchanged for the last 15 years. And I think that goes right to his point. Milwaukee is making new and great stuff for wood workers right now.
Thanks for your another great video, Matt! You are the one guiding me into the woodworking world 3 weeks ago, and your reviews on each tools are always so comprehensive and honest. I have got most of the tools I need now and ready to start my first project soon. Thanks Matt!
I own both brands and I like both. I have all the Milwaukee tools you talked about …. I do not have the DeWalt planner and I don’t need one because I have another brand. It’s a Kalamazoo and it’s very old and I should update but it does a vvery good job.
Planer/jointers are way to finicky to be made at a price point that makes sense for these companies. Getting a jointers tables to move out the way and return to there original position within a thousandth or two is not a cheap endeavor. Even Jet's 2k versions are pretty sloppy.
I just am starting to move into the Milwaukee 12V platform. I’m normally a Ridgid user, but love the power and amount of tools you can get with the M12. So far, love it. They have some great deals going on now. Thanks to your videos, I have the 4 in 1 angle drill and detail sander on my list to get next!
Also, completely agree with you and the others about the fatigue on long term use of the Dewalt cordless trim router. I love mine except for that. Have two cordless Makita trims and I don’t get the fatigue with those, they’re just far short of the adjustability of the Dewalt and certainly the Milwaukee
On the Milwaukee 1/2” cordless hammer drill it has a similar anti rotation on it to keep from injuring your wrist it’ll stop if the drill hangs up when drilling. It is indeed a wrist saver.
731 Woodworks... Never been to much into woodworking until recently when I found your channel. I love Milwaukee tools and I have several but mostly for automotive work like 1/2 and 3/8 impacts and ratchets. I want to get the new M12 1/2 and 3/8 impacts with the 550 Ft. Lbs. Also want a lot more of their tools so maybe one day. Slowly building them one at a time.
I know biblically we shouldn’t be envious of others! But! I like your toys in your toy box a lot! Milwaukee is the premiere tool platform! I’ve been a big craftsman tool guy for many 30 plus years! I’m leaning towards the Dewalt line since I got some Dewalt gifts at Father’s Day! They are running strong!!
Good Day 🌅, Men and their Toys , 🧸, 😂, I could only afford a SCM jointer/planner 410 Classes E , And Thinkers 510 E Classes, some people have Rembrandts Picassos art and sculptures on the wall, I have Mafell-Festool , I do have some Makita and Milwaukee , they are still very good tools, I haven’t used Dewalt for quite considerable many of years, As I had a sander and I Skil saw, that didn’t even last two years, Things are probably changed by now , and doesn’t really matter to me a lot as I’m now in my 70s retired sitting here writing talking to my device telling you What I think, stay safe. Keep up the great work on your reviews.,
I agree 100% with this video, and generally all your reviews. I am in love with the detail sander, but think the dust collection, plastic flimsiness of the normal M18 orbital sander blows. My shop is 75% Milwaukee, 15% Dewalt and 10% misc. (Harbor Freight, Skill, Grizzly) for more unique or rarely used tools. Here’s my actual comment: Do you have a list of non-Milwaukee, Dewalt, Festool tools that reign in their categories? I’d find the list hard to make, outside of tools that they don’t make (hybrid tab;e saw, drill press, dowel cutter, biscuit cutter, belt/disc sander combos, etc.). Love your channel btw.
Milwaukee lost my business when I had a 14 month old 6" braking grinder of theirs fail and they wouldnt warranty it. I was to send it in, then $162 to diagnose it and then parts and labor was to be additional to repair it. Also had one of their M18 hammer drills with the keyless chuck. The ONLY way to get it to NOT drop the bit was to tighten it with a pair of Knipix channelocks. I didnt waste my time calling them on that one, Lesson learned on their customer service with the grinder. Flex is all I look to now.
A lot of peoples choices also have to down to cost to quality! Eg I buy Dewalt because they have never let me down since moving from Bosch because they kept dying on me, eg in the space of 2 years I had to get my Bosch drill repaired/replaced 3 times, where I have had my Dewalt cordless drill now for 3 years and it still runs like the day I bought it, same with my circular saw. For me with my budget one Milwaukee drill would have cost more than my impact driver and drill put together. So for me I get what I can afford with the budget I can afford. Out of all my friends who have battery powered hand tools only one has Milwaukee and that’s because his came as part of his job and another friend loves his RYOBI tools (ever though he hates his drill and driver because they often don’t have enough power to do a job 😂), but again they were all he could get with the budget he has (like me he’s also disabled, but is a single parent and on a low fixed income, however once the kids fly the nest after they finish college and get married he’s planning to upgrade to a better quality set and give they RYOBI tools away to probably his son)! So I’m a believer in get the best you can stretch your budget can afford.
Amazing video. 100% Agree. Every brand has it's strong and weak tools. Dewalt have an amazing Table Saw and Milwaukee have amazing 12v and 18v Nailers to ad to the list. I like the yellow and black brand, but I had no problem to buy the better tool of other brand if that help me to do a better job. 😌👍
I agree with the sander portion and track saw. As far as the routers go dewalt routers are by far my favorite. But in reality over time they will all build better tools
I use the Milwaukee battery platforms, however with that said I’m currently using the dw735, and the mitre saw. They’re both about to be replaced however I want the best tool over tool loyalty.
Hi Matt. Through my work I'm on the Makita battery platform. But have ventured into Milwaukee for the excellent Fine Detail Sander for woodworking. Now got to toss a coin on the DeWalt DWE7485 or 7492!? Hopefully will make a decision soon?! Maybe with your videos get Mrs 731 to try out some of the tools to get a female perspective on them!?!?
What about the milwaukee nailers??? The best out there!! Though I just tried the new flex 15g...... Pretty solid nailer, may even be a bit more powerful than the milwaukee.
The Metabi HPT 1/2" plunge router beats em all Better price, features, warranty and cuz its the 36V it can be used.with the AC adapter Non other can do that I do dig the small 12v milwaukee sandrers Use em a bunch
I believe when talking about the Milwaukee routers I think it should be thrown in there that Milwaukee makes a adapter for the tracksaw guide rail system to be used in conjuction with the milwaukee routers. Dewalt doesn't offer that period. I'm not saying Dewalt is bad or anything, I just think Milwaukee is more innovative to its users.
So Milwaukee likes woodworkers better because they make you buy more tools where all these features are available with Dewalt oscillating tool, making it a sander and a cutter with a triangular sander, making it absolutely guaranteed to get all the way into all the corners with a less than 3 inch Surface getting into even tighter spaces and you can get it on the 20 V or 12 V platform whichever platform you run and have multiple tools in one to Milwaukee wants you to buy mini tools to accomplish the same thing. 4:32
Would love to be on either Milwaukee or DeWalt's platform, but the wife would object to the funds needed to be on them (just for a hobby) lol. Welcome to Ryobi life. :)
You leave metabo hpt out of your comparisons. They came out with the first cordless 1/2” router, they have a track saw that looks amazing, their nailers are awesome.
I got the DEWALT 20V MAX* 7-1/4-Inch Miter Saw, Compact Cordless (DCS361M1) for my small projects and it seems like it’s also a popular one for its lightweight and portability. Another is the DEWALT 20V MAX 4-1/2IN Cordless Circular Saw. It’s brushless, compact with nice dust collection that most of other circular saws don’t have. It can get a lot of work done for a small project. Would you be interested in doing a video on these 2 tools? Looking forward to seeing it! Thanks!😊
So Harbor Freight recently came out with their own, OSHA compliant, dust extractor. Any chance you might be able to review it? I’m on a budget and thus have been running off my shop vac with a greased HEPA filter and fleece bag pulling through a dust separator. It works good but I’d much prefer a more dedicated solution. I’d love to see your thoughts on the Harbor Freight Hercules dust extractor.
Milwaukee is good so is DeWalt Mmmm Makita D handle Makita plunge router Makita 4x24 belt sander Are the best! There Makita air compressor s are the best!
Well to comment on whether Milwaukee or dewalt care more, i sent dewalt a suggestion for a tool and the response was basically we aren’t taking suggestions from consumers anymore.. I wished i hadn’t switched my platform to dewalt from makita.. they really insulted me with the response they gave me on my suggestion.. So sounds to me like Milwaukee cares period!!!
Howdy Mr. 731... Welp...You know where I'm going with this. Dewalt holds the Crown on tool quality. True...Dewalt doesn't have a small 3" sander. But that's FAR from being a game changer. Perhaps I am Bias, I dunno. But the other day, I was at the Depot getting myself some Solder...Happens to be at the end of the isle where they have all these tools on display. I saw that 3" sander and , being honest here...I did not like it at all. It felt cheap. Like, if It drops from my table, it's done. The handle will Crack or something. The awkwardness of that sanders usability was strange. The handle is set back away from the business end which means you have to put downward force towards the front which strains your wrist from the handle position, especially if you have alot of sanding to do. Now, for 1/3rd of the cost of that Milwaukee 3" sander, I can buy a Scripto Dremel tool. 1" padded and Velcro sanding pads and various grits of paper and I can sand SMALL areas with detail using a 1" disc instead of 3". AND, you hold the "sander" as you would a Pencil. So, it's very ergonomic for the hand and it costs 3 times less money and does a better job because I can actually get into smaller areas than a 3" sander could do. So...In either case, Dewalt or Milwaukee....Neither brand is really designed for tasks of small area sanding. So, in this case, Dremel takes the Crown from both of those brands.
Hey Matt, I have been looking far and wide to find the TBL baseball bat you have on top of your Husky tool chest and have had absolutely ZERO luck in finding it. Would you be willing to share a link to it please?? Thanks in advance brother!!!!!
My editor, Chris, makes them by hand www.etsy.com/listing/1735666026/handmade-wooden-baseball-batcustom?click_key=27729f673c4c7f3cd82b0852ada6ad2feee99df4%3A1735666026&click_sum=ab50d295&ref=shop_home_feat_3&sts=1
I have a nice 5000 dollars planer. Its really freaking amazing, buy the dewalt. If you're not pushing out projects every single day its a better value.
I'm not to happy with DeWalt right now! My dad bought me a dw735 in February 24th for my birthday. I've used the planer 3 times since February and the motor went bad in it. Apparently on the type 12 planers it is an issue. I started calling DeWalt 3 weeks ago trying to get in touch with them about the motor issue. They keep telling me I need to find the date code I have looked everywhere they have told me and there is no date code on my planer. Now they won't even email me back. I've been really nice and polite with them and I'm getting really frustrated for the lack of help that they are giving me. I am a Milwaukee Fanboy and I will never buy another DeWalt tool after this experience with them. Does anyone know where the date code on the planers are? I'd really appreciate any help. Thank you!
I know you only have so much money to buy tools. And some tools come from sponsors or you buy them and then your getting kickbacks, where is any grizzly tools? I will give you an out as you can’t play with them anywhere in USA besides Springfield MO and somewhere in NW. I trust you for the way you deliver the msg. But what about Grizzly. I am seriously considering buying a cabinet saw from them as my last crapped out, luckily, on me, couple weeks ago. Seemed like a Capacitor blew, which I think it did. But also found a large, like only one inch metal connection of the trunnion plate on each side. Lalala saw isn’t worth fixing. The plate should be 1/2” or 3/4” thick, which I at is. But the crack compromised about 70% of the structural integrity of the blade holding mech. And I have to fix the cap as said before. 🎉. I want a good or better table saw as a heavy maker. I ain’t buying a 600 buck one anymore
That planer has been around so long it's an icon and they still refuse to bring it to the UK and my Scottish butt isn't rich enough to risk importing one.
I'm going to disagree, Who makes more woodworking specific power tools? Does Milwaukee make a table saw? How about a power plane? Dewalt makes numerous woodworking tools. Milwaukee makes a lot of plumber specific and electrician specific tools as well as other trades, but woodworking, not so much. Just my observation.
I really don't get your obsession with cordless tools. If you need dust collection, and you'd be suicid@l to use a sander without it, the power cord is nothing compared to the hose. Tie them together and you won't even notice the power cord. I have both hanging from a Rockler track attached to the ceiling. Unless you're a finish carpenter, who takes his woodworking tools to the jobsite, a battery powered SMCS or table saw is just silly, IMO. I would like a better cordless trim router, but I got rid of all my DeWalt cordless tools, and don't want another battery system. Three is enough.
I love the tool that fits my price budget and won't make me poor as shit while doing general house work and hobby wood working: Dewalt and Milwaukee are not on this list so fuck em both, yeah yeah, quality, speed, control yadda yadda yadda. A dewalt will rip your hand off all the same if your ignorant with using tools, that $200 price tag will not protect against stupidity: Maybe it will rip a finger off cleaner though? To be further tested perhaps.
@@krissk77 not going to happen as the measurements are in Imperial and i use Metric, there is nothing i found to help with that. power is also issue but i guess an electrician can fix that

Fair, dewalt makes a few staples for most people. I don’t use any dewalt, but I get what you are saying. I am loving my makita xgt these days
100% that DW735 with a helical head is a gem.
I love the DW735. But I think it’s pretty much unchanged for the last 15 years. And I think that goes right to his point. Milwaukee is making new and great stuff for wood workers right now.
The planer and the jobsite table saws are the two things Dewalt does well for wood workers.
Best of both worlds! Milwaukee battery platform with DeWalt corded table saw and planer
Thanks for your another great video, Matt! You are the one guiding me into the woodworking world 3 weeks ago, and your reviews on each tools are always so comprehensive and honest. I have got most of the tools I need now and ready to start my first project soon. Thanks Matt!

If Milwaukee or DeWalt made a combo planer/jointer machine that could be a game changer. I'd love to see that.
Grizzly Makes 1. it's not a cheap one but the Reviews say it's pretty good.

Women use tools too. Those big bases... I'm talking to you, Dewalt, are hard for anyone without bug mitts. Dewalt planer just works. It's awesome.

"Does Milwaukee even have a planer?" 😂🤣
Right??? we never hear about the Milwaukee Table saw or Miter saw..
Burrrrrrrrrnn!
But seriously, Milwaukee is unheard of in woodcraft or rockler stores 😂😂😂
Nope. They have nothing for us in reality
@@CuredWoodworkingsawsall is pretty good, but nothing else.
A planer on the Mx fuel line would be cool
Team De⚡️Waukee All my corded are DeWalt, chop saw, planer, mounted router & everything else is Milwaukee. Table saw is only tool that is neither
Great job on the video. And yes the DeWALT trim router is good but very uncomfortable!
I use the Milwaukee battery platforms, however with that said I’m currently using the dw735, and the mitre saw. They’re both about to be replaced however I want the best tool over tool loyalty.
Milwaukee not gonna mess with DeWalt on the planer. That thing is a beast
Have you heard of the Festool Rotex RO90? It’s the best tool for small sanding jobs. Incredible versatile and good dust collection.
The Metabi HPT 1/2" plunge router beats em all
Better price, features, warranty and cuz its the 36V it can be used.with the AC adapter
Non other can do that
I do dig the small 12v milwaukee sandrers
Use em a bunch
I believe when talking about the Milwaukee routers I think it should be thrown in there that Milwaukee makes a adapter for the tracksaw guide rail system to be used in conjuction with the milwaukee routers. Dewalt doesn't offer that period. I'm not saying Dewalt is bad or anything, I just think Milwaukee is more innovative to its users.
All I know is my dewalt impact goes brrrrrrrrrrr. Honestly crazy torque.
I don’t know how I feel about a cordless router other than trim. The last thing I’d want is the power diminishing in the middle of a routing.
Please do a comparison with the new makita xgt 1/2 inch plunge router.
I have Makita everything except Milwaukee nail guns and up until recently had a DeWalt table saw but skil just took that out.
Milwaukee needs to build it in the 18 volt platform.
Not by design but I seem to be tied into the Red/Black color scheme. Milwaukee, Skil, and Wahuda.
I have a both DeWalt and Milwaukee. Don’t see any problems owing both red and yellow. I guess they both love my money 😂
I recently purchased the router and the track saw. Stay tuned...
Matt, can you check out kobalt and Hercules palm routers? They look to be similar ergonomics compared to the m18.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!😊
DeWalt 20 volt biscuit joiner and 20 volt belt sander.
I don't think either cares about anything but our money. That's the nature of business. Innovation is driven by profits and dominating the market.
What is the model number of the Milwaukee plunge router?
So Harbor Freight recently came out with their own, OSHA compliant, dust extractor. Any chance you might be able to review it? I’m on a budget and thus have been running off my shop vac with a greased HEPA filter and fleece bag pulling through a dust separator. It works good but I’d much prefer a more dedicated solution. I’d love to see your thoughts on the Harbor Freight Hercules dust extractor.
it's been ordered. Be here in a few days.
@@731Woodworks Dude! You’re awesome! 👊👊👊👊
@@2down4up 👊
Milwaukee is good so is DeWalt
Mmmm
Makita D handle
Makita plunge router
Makita 4x24 belt sander
Are the best!
There Makita air compressor s are the best!
Where in the world do you store all these tools?
Did you put the Milwaukee track saw above Makita in the ranks ?
Well to comment on whether Milwaukee or dewalt care more, i sent dewalt a suggestion for a tool and the response was basically we aren’t taking suggestions from consumers anymore.. I wished i hadn’t switched my platform to dewalt from makita.. they really insulted me with the response they gave me on my suggestion.. So sounds to me like Milwaukee cares period!!!
Where do you buy your custom Milwaukee Packout add-ons?
links in descripton to either the 3d print files or you can buy them already made.
Milwaukee all the way.
I think Milwaukee cares more for woodworkers for cordless tools, while DeWalt cares more for woodworkers for corded tools.
Have you ever tested a Metabo cordless router?
Just got one in the shop a few days ago
Howdy Mr.
I thought you choice was the oliver 12 inch
You didn’t mention nail guns or belt sanders
I have a nice 5000 dollars planer. Its really freaking amazing, buy the dewalt. If you're not pushing out projects every single day its a better value.
I'm a Milwaukee fan boy and feel that they have more tools with woodworkers in mind.
Matt. I hear what you saying but in South Africa is Milwaukee is the most expensive power tool. 😢 but thanks for the video
Let me know when they get a planer, bandsaw, jointer, router table. Even Kobalt has a bandsaw and planer
Milwaukee is on my shitlist! The only produces that have not sucked are their AX and Torch recip. blades.
I’M SEEING RED!!! (In my shop! Go #TeamMilwaukee!)
Thank you!
I'm sorry but I'm not a Milwaukee fan, I'll stick with my Ridgid tools, I had 0 problems with them and they work very well.
But I will still go for the cheapest but still do the work.🎉
I know you only have so much money to buy tools.
DeWalt makes better miter saws and table saws as well
The new ridged trim router is a Milwaukee clone. Almost every detail it the same from grip to new switch to fine tune.
Milwaukee
Dewalt mitersaws and tablesaws are much better also.
I feel like this is more of a commercial for the other reviews. 🤷🏻♂️
Shame the Milwaukee planer is rubbish for me it’s at the bottom of the pile. And I have used many different brands.
I would have to say DeWalt loves woodworkers more because they have 2 planers 🤔😄. Milwaukee Zero 🙁
Why does rigid never make these lists? do people really hate the brand that much?
Both MW and DW hate me. Their prices are 3x their value.
Just further proof that this guy absolutely hates Makita. I guess he just has to show some elegance to the american brands.........
DW735
Yeah but the Planer is US only no Europe 😢😢😢
U can import... but use step down step up transformer... I'm in Kenya and import via amazon... much cheaper buying locally. Or from China
@@krissk77 not going to happen as the measurements are in Imperial and i use Metric, there is nothing i found to help with that. power is also issue but i guess an electrician can fix that
I've never really liked DeWalt to be honest. They are always a little off.
You forgot or Miss that the walt has much better cordless impacts. They're eight sixty blows away.Anything milwaukee could even think about
Cares?
Milwaukee es chino😂
Buy Festool, not this crap.
