Your 3 videos have been super useful. Thanks! I was heading to the new Waco park this week (all the way from the UK) and it's broken and out of action indefinitely. NLand is definitely a 'better than nothing' situation and I feel glad I saw these vids as now I know how to approach it properly. Thanks.
Paul Harding - Wow, I can’t believe BSR is broke already. That’s crazy. You’ll have fun at NLand, but it’s just a weird learning curve on your first time there. The key to NLand is NO WIND! Go to windy.com www.windy.com/ to see what the winds will be like before you go! Good luck to you and enjoy it! Thx for the positive vibes! 🤙🏽
Well brother I surfed NLand on Thursday and had an awesome time. Your tips really helped too. Did 2 sessions on the East with an hour gap between. I hired a 6'1 Lost Puddle Jumper from them and at a massive 44 litres of volume it was the right choice. Was a bit windy but as there was only 1 other guy on one session and 2 guys on the next I didn't mind. Had more waves than I can remember from each end and the middle too. Would do it again anytime! Cheers.
Paul Harding - Excellent! Yeah I caught it windy too. Good to hear you chose a bigger board. As you now know, it’s a weird wave. Glad to hear you scored!
Cool video. I’m on the fence. Me and some friends are thinking about flying in from San Diego to try the bsr park in Waco and I found your video. Thinking about trying nland now. I’d hate to fly out there and blow $200 and not get any waves. Especially considering I live 5 minutes from the beach 😂
Charles Hawk - Definitely go BSR! It’s a way better wave. NLand is hard to surf and doesn’t really barrel. They’re both fun though and very close to each other. If you’re coming in from California, hit both! It’s amazing how many people from Cali I’ve seen there. Crazy! You guys get sick waves for free!
Tx_Slab Good to know, yeah, a lot of people fly over to try the wave pools. I just booked my flight today. Think I’ll take one of my hybrids over. How do you like the happy shovel? I thought about picking one up.
Charles Hawk - Nice, I guess if you have waves all the time, you want something different. If you guys hit BSR bring something with some rocker because it’s steeper. I think my Happy Shovel would prolly poke the nose there. It does great in absolute shit waves like Texas though. Anything steep and you really need to get back on the tail more. If you’re going to NLand, I’d definitely bring a hybrid there. There’s only a few sections where I felt like I needed a step up board. The pros kill it on anything though, but they crank the waves up for them.
Great informative video man. Thanks for putting the time into it and giving some advice on how to approach the place. I was noticing how much people were getting pushed off to the side, and man I've never experienced anything like that in the Atlantic. I'm looking to take a trip out to the place when I'm in TX for business. Wished they were open now as I'm a cold water guy from NH! Thanks again man
Thank you for the time you spent on those 3 videos. Questions, is this was “a reef” setting? I heard they have 3 settings. Cause it fell like you can’t tugs in the pocket. No barrel. Did you ask if it’s always windy out there or just a bad day? Thank again
Fab24hdumans - Yes this is a reef. Or so they call it a reef, but it’s merely a bottom contour that makes the wave break more powerful. This day was very windy and there are barrel sections, but going on a day with little to no wind is key for barrels. Good luck if you head down there! 🤙🏽
Tx_Slab yes I am heading there soon, I think the 9 am start there is less chance of strong winds. I hope is not a headache with “priority” sick and tire of fighting here in Santa Cruz with those local bozos...
James Renslow - Sorry...I mean sit more inside. Especially if it’s your first time. Obviously if you’re riding a 9’ board, this doesn’t apply. I can’t my first wave at the sign and barely got into it. I think I missed the second. I realized later that sitting more inside (10-20’) will make it easier to get into the waves.
Really good advice. It was exactly my experience.
Billy Cowan - Thx bro! 🤙🏽
Wow a lot of interesting points. Defiantly going to bsr.
Sorry for the late reply, but RUclips doesn't always notify me of comments. You should!

I thought that's what you meant. Thank you. That makes sense.
James Renslow - Yes sir!

Thx bro! Good luck! If I were you I’d hit both BSR cable park and NLand as they are close to each other! FYI BSR has the best wave!
@@Reefahholic Wow! BSR was nowhere on my radar! Thanks for the intel. More to research now!
Cody Strate- It’s all over RUclips. Type BSR and Ben gravy, Jamie O’brain, Brett Barley. ✅✌️

On the take off. When you say sit shallower. Do you mean sit a little more inside. Or a little more towards the middle take-off Zone?
