I was thinking of dropping zzz before seeing Jellos thoughts on how well designed the game environment is. I loaded the game on PS5 on my OLED tv and wow this game really pops . Im still not going to try hard it but i definitely want to keep playing in its world and watching thr rest of thr game grow.
The main difference between Genshin and ZZZ when it comes to team comps is that Genshin usually requires some kind of heals or shields. Except for some very minor exceptions, there are no shields or heals in ZZZ. Instead, the only way to mitigate damage is to manually dodge or parry attacks -- what's mandatory is active player skill, not character abilities. All mobs have a second "health bar" that is their Stun bar. When you attack a mob, damage is done to the health bar and Daze is done to the Stun bar simultaneously (at different rates). You do not need to deplete the Stun bar, but if you do (via Daze damage), the mob will be Stunned for a significant period of time, allowing you to not just attack it freely, but all your damage is multiplied (by default, 1.5X). Stunners inflict Daze via their high Impact multipliers. I'd say Bond of Life is similar. You need to Heal to remove the secondary Bond of Life health bar. Instead of Healing, you inflict Daze. Virtually every attack inflicts Daze, but Stunners apply Daze at a much higher ratio than any other character class. Stunners -- Lycaon, Koleda, Anby -- are Drivers. They aren't the main DPS, but they take the most time on field. Some drive reactions (e.g. Anby on Anomaly teams) but primarily think of them as necessary to do any damage, in the way that Fischle needs an on-field DPS for Oz to proc. The overwhelming majority of viable team comps currently require a Stunner. Attackers are main DPS, but unlike Genshin, they usually spend very little time on field. Stunners drive, inflict stun, buffers/debuffers do their thing super quickly, then Attackers unload while the mob is stunned. When stun drops, swap back to Stunner and repeat. That's the standard combat rotation. This is the main difference between the combat systems. People who play HSR are already very familiar with breaking toughness bars. The main difference between ZZZ and HSR here is that ZZZ has much more discrete toughness bar damage increments, i.e. It's not 1-2-3 units of break like in HSR. HSR does have units who excel at breaking, like Silverwolf, Gallagher, Harmony MC, but toughness breaking is secondary to their kits unlike in ZZZ where breaking is primary. Also unlike in HSR, toughness bar breaking is element agnostic -- all damage types inflict the same amount of Daze. As for unit similarities, Nekomiya Mana (Nekomata) is a standard banner Attacker. Power level wise, she's one rank behind the limited banner 5 star Attacker Ellen. I'd say plays like Clorinde. She's a very mobile Physical Attacker who uses her mobility to avoid taking damage. She has a lot of AOE baked into all of her attacks, including some grouping ability on her burst. Instead of having any sort of innate Bond of Life type healing, what she has is a lot of damage unlocked by regularly dodging and parrying (swapping to other teammates). There are virtually no Physical resistant or immune enemies in the game. Unlike Physical in Genshin, Physical has two very strong "reactions," and almost every element type in this game still inflicts some level of Physical damage. A mono Physical team designed to inflict the Physical "reactions" is definitely viable and meta. Ellen is the strongest Attacker in the game at the moment, but there's no real comparison that can be made. She's overcooked, and no other units even in ZZZ are similar, now or coming in the near future. She's an on-field DPS with very high mobility where the majority of her damage comes from enhanced basic attacks. Those attacks are enhanced primarily via disengaging from combat and then reengaging with dash attacks. She stacks Ice damage which Freezes then enemy, and her mono Ice team comp (the highest DPS team currently) revolves around repeatedly applying Freeze as often and as quickly as possible.
You conflate shield breaking with toughness breaking. You break shields with the same element as the shield, you break toughness bar faster with a stun unit.
Also really loving the teambuilding puzzle, not to mention all the hidden stuff really makes the characters feel unique. The combat and TV system is growing on me slowly, but everything else they knocked out of the park. Idk if i've ever seen this many awesome QoL features in a game before
The downside here is that, at least for now with a smaller pool of characters and a few patches in, you're kinda limited if you want a "perfect synergy 3/3" like mono ice, that also functions well. So you'll be "forced" to either pull a lot of characters, or work with suboptimal teams.
I'm so glad you're covering ZZZ - I was struggling to find content on ZZZ other than 'why is ZZZ shit' while I enjoy it to the point I'm shelving Genshin and WuWa for the time being.
I started genshin upon its release, and I’ve recently picked HSR back up. I love both games. With that said I tried out zzz and I liked it. However I’m struggling to maintain regularity in all three games😢 sometimes I avoid getting online because it feels like a chore. With that said I think I’m going to drop zzz for some time. but I hope other players give it a try. It really is a fun game and I was really enjoying the story.
Another tip from me (it's just imo, other people might disagree): If you've never done it seriously in a game before - learn to dodge and to time your attacks/blocks. You will get proper instructions for every move and character. Yes, button mashing might work in the beginning and if you're lucky even later on. But if you want the combat to become actual fun try learn as much as you can about the system. It helps in Genshin as well so you can hit higher numbers, but in ZZZ it can actually change the whole combat feel from okay to yay.
It also has the HSR Resin item that lets you craft a specific artifact(disc in ZZZ) with a specific mainstat and you can even craft a specifc part of a set(like only a circlet) instead of randomly crafting any piece of the entire set.
You should do a more in depth guide. Explain the way the “domains” work. In Genshin you have all the different domains for talent mats, ascension, artifacts etc. show how ZZZ’s VR system works in comparison to Genshin. This is a much more broad and general video, not so much an ultimate guide. I love all your vids so I mean no disrespect. It’s just genshin players will understand “these are your talent books in ZZZ, these are your weapon ascension mats like the wolf’s teeth and chains, but instead they’re broken into weapon class” etc. you catch my drift.
And for more in depth other stuff, that’s what the dedicated videos on the zzz channel is for But I totally get your point. Ultimate guide is sort of subjective and maybe not the most accurate here
@@JelloImpact oh yeah I did notice this was on the Genshin channel. A lot of people click through the explanation stuff and then get confused, and have to ask their GF what to do bc she actually reads the un-voiced dialogue and explanations 😅🤣. So a refresher course on Jello Zone Zero would be welcome lol.
I’d understand if ZZZ has a much narrower target demographic than Genshin, it’s like comparing the Persona games that combined different elements together to mainstream JRPGs
Oh Rina is like Jean.. so my zzz account is matching my Genshin account with who my first 5* is on both games 😂 and no idea how to use her really so waiting for the guide Mr Jello
Im kinda annoyed with the daily login event. It only lasted 7 days had to play daily since launch and it was locked behind story. Been playing genshin since 1.0 and I'll be honest. ZZZ has made it's combat feel a bit stiff. ZZZ really has good fluid combat. I find my self using my resin as fast as possible doing dailies then going to ZZZ. Though I'm still looking forward tonthe sunmer event and Natlan
OMG lycan (spelling guessed) is what Wriothesley should’ve been but white canine instead of black 😂 Edit: His spelling is much better and daddy like. Im considering playin ZZZ purely for him now hahaha 😇
Ngl the game is fun. Maybe just more to my tastes since I like finger skill (eg parries and perfect dodges) better than mental skill (eg elemental gauge and all that stuff from Genshin). I was going to skip this since I don’t want to get sucked into another stingy Hoyo game but in the end it’s fun enough for me to play it F2P. Far too big though, already 25GB, some people only have 64GB storage so they would only be able to have two games on their devices. Given that it’s not an open world game like Wuwa or Genshin I think it’s too big, prolly won’t be able to play it for long as a result
These genshin comparisons seem kindof arbitrary. The game doesn't play similarly enough to draw the comparison. There's aren't even healers in ZZZ and all genshin teams revolve around getting shields or heals.
So much of my initial learning the ropes of this game involved talking with my friends saying “this is this game’s welkin, these are this game’s primos, these are the artifacts, she’s ice bennet.”
You has HSR profile so this must be bait You’re literally guaranteed a 5 star in the first 50 pulls and the game also gives you 50 standard pulls by level 20 There’s literally no way you don’t get a single 5 star

Sorry to be critical, but this video wasn't even remotely helpful. A barrage of "this is an A, this is a B," where "this" is literally just the word "this" doesn't help me understand the game and isn't even good as a glossary. Maybe the video would help me scope out characters if I were interested in the game, but what I need right now is incentive to be interested in the game. Every video I've seen has described what ZZZ is, but not done a very good job of convincing me why I would like it. Mind you, I'm a Genshin player who does not play HSR, HI3, or any other gacha.
Fair enough. Maybe my team building guide or top tips, my game review or even a character guide would be more up your speed to see what else the game has to offer

I changed the buttons in Zzz so it's a little similar to Genshin😄
