    It's a very nice radio. I thought about another new Spektrum radio, but for years I've painted myself into Spektrum brand 'box'. No more. Free to shop around for what works best for me, not what will work with my brand radio. Thank you Radiomaster. Love this channel.

      I just purchased a radiomaster to switch from spektrum for the first time. I’m excited for the multi-protocol and the free functionality of OpenTx and using a crossfire module. Spektrum has been squeezing my wallet dry these days.

    I have been suggesting Radiomaster TXs to many of my customers, looking for TX options, on the basis that they are good looking, appear well designed and structured radios and the flexibility of the company in offering different styles and options of the same product. Although the latter should be pretty much a no brainer for any company making similar products. I do not own one, but going from a common sense specs, ergo, features, cost, options educated approach. I'm looking forward to see how well these hold up in the long run, as the true test of any product or company is longevity.
    Price and quality wise, I also think they have been fairly priced and offer a much higher quality than many radios, of similar caliber, out there.
    One particular radio I bough a while back was the Spectrum DX6 and that radio had a short life span, very short, because of quality issues in materials, very cheaply done for the price they sold for. In comparison with a similar features radio such as the first orange T-6 from HK, the orange one was and has been, by far, at a fraction of the cost of the Spektrum, the better of these two, in fact even better than some of my older Futaba, Airtronics, JR higher end, in their time, radios. While these radios are no longer available and they have been surpassed by more modern ones, the Spektrum DX6 and Orange T6 were, at the time, some of the more popular 6 model TX's if you used or favored DSM.. RXs.
    To this day, the orange HK T-6 transmitter has been my most trusted one, more so after I resurrected it from a fatal death in a hard hit in contact with solid ground, which I incurred in it, myself, in an effort to unintentionally test its durability, and because I like simplicity and have consistently remained with DSM type rx's, I have not found the need for another TX. Until I saw the Radiomaster T16S, reminds me in architecture of the Radiolink, and going a bit far back the Eclipse 7, which I owned and also favored for solid qualities and great control and feel in an average man-size hands.
    It is not the bells and whistles that caught my eye of the T16S, but the implementation of the "open" MP module. Something I have wanted to see implemented, reliably, in a decently priced TX, for years, so I am highly interested in this one. But I also like having immediate logical and direct access to model selection, button 1 model 1, button 2 model 2, up to at least 6 models, I think is practical, instead of having to scroll or search for that particular model you often fly. I am not sure if those upper buttons are for that, or could be configured that way, but I would want that.
    I have reached to the company with some questions before diving into this TX, hopefully they will respond back. Nice video.

    Do you think it is more realiable than the Spektrum radios? I'm planning to upgrade my DX6i to a Radiomaster to fly gas airplanes

    • @adamhale6672
      @adamhale6672 3 года назад +4

      From what I’ve heard it’s every bit as reliable as spektrum. The functionality for the TX16S is much greater, however. Spektrum will meet your needs for gas airplanes, but you are limited to spektrum preset setups.
      The rc protocol works the same, so if your receivers are reliable, then you should experience the exact same reliability as you would otherwise. I’m upgrading from a dx8e to a TX16S right now and I’m looking forward to it.

    Hey nobody is giving help to those of us who are only into the RC model boating clubs. I haven't seen anyone do a video how to setup FrySky XR6 receivers and Spektrum DSMR with a Radio master.

    I flew with a friend recently, he was trying to trim his model and change the throws in bright sunlight. This TX is unusable other than indoors or a dark cloudy day. Watching him fumble about trying to read the screen and make simple adjustments was sad . That should be enough reason for anyone to not buy this.
