This filter was sent to me by mistake, it was the older version that had this obvious internal fault. They are sending me the new one that is free of this issue! Look fwd to the new video!
Well maybe there is something to say about hygger putting out too many products and then it sacrifices quality. I myself have loved the products I've tried from them so far. That hob cannister did LOOK sweet though. Also COULD be you just got a bad one but who knows..... thanks for this ! ❤️ 💙 💜 💖
yes good thought, i am bummned as i have been looking for something like this as an alternative to regulat hob filters, was hoping to see how long it would go! thanks mel!
I really thought we wouldn't be seeing an update for a few more weeks at leart! 😂 Wow, absolutely wild. Happy it happened to someone like you, honest and smart enough to figure out what was going on so quickly. My only other guess is that maybe it could be overfilled with media slowing the flow and allowing it to overheat and warp.. wild!
Hopefully they replace this for you because I know me personally wouldn’t want to buy one after seeing this without the company attempting to right the situation. Keep us updated Jesse
Who, was looking forward to this filter: of of three hob ( hygger)I ordered was not working from the beginning. Issues with impeller. Amazon replaced it. So far is a week and doing ok. The other 2 still ok after about a month
I have run a few hang on back canisters but not that particular one , I've never had a problem with mine but on thing I did notice was that you had yours mounted a little high so the pump was above the water line in the tank so if it air locked the pump would run without the water it needs for cooling so would in all probability have overheated the pump.
In most applications this will sit at the same height for most tanks even rimless, the mounts are not adjustable up and down. Plus it was running for, hours just fine , through the night is when it happened, certainly appreciate your thoughts here , maybe it was too high ? But the design is supposed to handle this application
I hope this was a one off Jesse but i said it before think it’s a over engineered for what you need Which leads to more failure point inevitably Great video lots would of hidden that for the public Good on you bud
Thanks for this! I was thinking of doing a canister filter for a small quarantine pond but now I need to think about it some more 😂 idk anything about them. Is hygger a manufacturer you’ve used in the past?
I dont think i would want to be taking all apart just to change the filter pads anyways i would stay with a hob if this was my option. Maybe if i had only one tank but even then there's better options. You tried. Thanks for sharing
To each their own, my fishroom is all canisters but nice thing is only need cleaned once every 7 months or so which is a huge perk with the time saved! i was really hoping to see how long this little canister would have gone, but did not get the chance! thanks for sharing your input here! keep them coming!

Thankful it did not start a fire and thank you for your honesty on the review.
you bet!
Man that could have caught on fire. I hope they correct the issue with that filter. Keep us posted
Will do thanks buddy

Appreciate the kind words ! Nothing I see should have caused this.
@TheSalient1 that's what I figured, just spitballing really! Thanks for keeping it real
That's crazy. Now I'm really wondering how mine will perform. Lol. We will soon find out!
Yea I’m curious !

Yes I will be talking with them to let them know what happened !

I wonder if it's a defective unit or if all of them are like this, I like the concept, but this seems really dangerous.
I'm hoping I got a lemon, others using it no issue

thanks buddy! yes sir honest reviews here! appreciate the kind words!
Man that impeller was jammed in there that could of been a real problem
You r not wrong!

Not with canisters no
Friction, but why is the question. Must be a molding defect or something.
Yeah why...not like it was in tank with sand sifters, no sand at all inside

@@TheSalient1 yes sir I understand 👍
That's crazy. did you email hygger?
@GCaquatics not yet but I will be contacting them shortly, plus they usually watch the videos
Dude, that sucks
Was you watching “Finding Nemo” in front of your convicts? Lol
Yeah, that’s crazy it didn’t last more than a day.
