      Have to agree, my favorite in the 2nd generation Supra/Celica XX from 1982-85.5. But there are so many home market cars form the 1970's/80's too.

    I had a 1980 Mazda GLC, the first car I bought. I had it 47 days before it was totaled (not my fault). That little car was awesome and probably saved my life.

    My first car in 1987 was the Toyota Tercel like the white one in this video. Mine was an orange 1980 with a custom ragtop and honeycomb wheels! I sold it in '92 and regret it ever since. I was the taxi for my friends in HS when their cars were broken! Great times. Another well-done video Ethan!

    That GLC brings back memories. My aunt owned one, and drove it FOREVER. Like, into the early 2000's when my brother handed down his Saturn to her.
    Edit: Aww yeah... an original Subaru Turbowagon!

  • @cuspsoftheoverworld

    We only got the 4x4 Tercel wagons in Australia, 84-88. Videos from the States always confront me with familiar model names attached to vehicles I've never seen before.
    Someone down the road here collected the 4x4 wagons and had three or four in the front yard, they have moved on tho.

    Awesome car show and video. Thanks Ethan.
    Unfortunately in Europe a lot of these cars just vanished into oblivion in the past decades. Of course there are some preserved examples but definitely not that many anymore. Japanese cars from eighties and nineties were bullet proof except for one thing: rust. And now we are realizing that these were good cars but they are already gone. And what is even more frustrating, a lot of these cars were good cars even with their base engines and trims.

  • @bc8580
    @bc8580 3 года назад

    One of the best car show reviews I look forward to typically as it zeroes in on forgotten cars of yesterday that really need to be preserved for nostalgia in this fast changing car environment that is seeing the end of internal combustion engine sooner than we'd like.

    Japanese cars get no love outside the tuner people, but I appreciated this. Even with US market, there are so many oddball models, editions, etc., that it often feels that every survivor has some special feature - or lack of them. I'd certainly attend this kind of show, though I too am partial to original spec vs. the coffee can and flares crowd. First car - 77 Accord - and someday, maybe again. (Though for goodness sake it will be a 5 speed - I had the 2 speed Hondamatic as it had been bought as someone's company car. 3000 rpm at 60 I think - you were beyond 1st gear range at that point, no passing power at all)
