Ollie had already acknowledged the guy was quick. If he hadn't sent the message, Ollie probably would have just let him past, then he wouldn't have gotten slow downs and extra penalties for off tracks battling. That one message really was his downfall in the end.

Dude brilliant race. The last incident would have been obvious to the third car in line. Which was him. Its called race craft. He could have easily seen that your exit from the chicane would have been compromised. He could have easily did a nice cross over move on you and saved the penalty. Sometimes tho in the heat of the moment clarity is obscured. Cheers mate🍻well done!

The logic is that early on the race you want to stay as close to the leader as possible, and fighting early will just let them get away. If you know the person behind you is faster than you, it can make sense to let him pass and then use his tow to escape from the others behind and give some hope to catch up ahead.
Sometimes it makes sense, sometimes it doesn't, but that's why you have some people putting in a message like "don't fight, push" in the early stages of the race.

  • @dannyvenuss

No reason for his messages as a 4.9k driver against a 3.7k driver early in the race at a track like Monza where its super easy to make a pass if he indeed had the pace. Understandably he wanted to get to where he thought his fight was without wasting time but that's not your problem, it's a race.

  • @MrRamoSzz

I think the same way as you, If you want this position you need to fight for it and not tell others what to do. You can let him pass by yourself if you see that she/he is faster, but there is nothing in the rules that you have to do. Last week at the GT4 race I had a guy behind me who was clearly faster than me and I just told him to pass me on a strait, not to get into any incident and lose the safety rating, but again it was my own choice

Firstly, well driven. Keeping it together with an over aggressive driver behind and another very good driver ahead is no small feat.
Second, Mehmet is far to aggressive without having the racecraft to back it up. The move he tried twice and failed at T1 because he was on the outside on the second part is a perfect example. The incident that gave him the 17x/DQ was also just a racing incident, you gave as much room as you could but going over the curb was always going to push you wide, he should have seen that and sacrificed the entry to get you on exit. Would have been easy done if he had. Sadly, as some have already said, he seems like a hotlapper and only looks at the car ahead and not the situation in full.
    Good race Ollie!

I'm usually a mid-pack racer that can occasionally be at the front of the grid with the right track-car combo. I've been in races where a fast driver will start at the back of the grid to avoid T1 chaos and then demand that I just move out of there way because they have better pace. I usually concede to a driver a after a couple of laps if I realize that I'm no competition for them. I'm not the type of driver who is going to put up a fight with someone who is obviously way faster, but I figure if someone is that fast, they will prove that to me by their driving skills. I'm not going to just let someone pass me because they claim to be faster, that's the point of racing.

That's right Ollie, if they can overtake you in a good spot, just do it already. One can be polite in a race up to a point, but that's it. Every man for himself on the track.
Pretty nice race, with mild carnage at the start, which sometimes is beneficial, like it was now. 4th place is pretty good.
Ollie, you seem to be among the top 10 almost every race now, or you are just winning the race, hahah.
You did your homework with GT for sure. You've put in the hours, and now you are getting to the good stuff 👍 Damn man, who knows how far this simracing thing will take you.

I have asked if you can let me by and i have been told let me by a lot so I get both sides.
To elaborate more since I know im horrible at explaining things. I am quite a competitive person and even I myself don't take to well to getting "hey can you let me by" messages in chat or over the radio and I would be absolutely fuming if i get that message during a special event but in a hourly race like this and especially in porsche cup when you can get a 4x for even looking at their bumper for too long I dont really blame him

@@BasicOllie Personally, I ask all the time. If it's a track I am confident on, and I know I am faster than the person ahead, I will ask them to let me by. My reasoning is if we have a 30+ minute race, we can use that time to get ahead rather than battle and lose the people ahead. So if they let me pass, I tell them I will give them a tow. If people don't want to give up the position, that is fine. I will take it by merit.
I will never argue and be mad if they don't want to, even if it's super early into a race, and they are clearly making us lose the people ahead. But that's just my reasoning.

I play ACC and was wondering the same thing when people are sledging during the race. I'm guessing either voice recognition linked to a headset or hotkeys.

it's his responsibility to make a pass if he's quicker, not asking the person in front to move over like an entitled snowflake.

Great drive Ollie, Porsche cup is so hard but so much fun, I've been running a series for the past few weeks last race next week at Le Mans.
    Keep up the good work.

Hot take; maybe the guy wanted to work together as a team to catch up to p1-p2. Using the tow to help make up the time
I feel like he was thinking of the bigger picture towards the end of the race and you already settled on keeping p3

Last lap incident was not on you. Mehmet didn't need to put his car there. Could have easily had you into the next corner if he went right instead of left.

I dunno... The last guy didn't have to go for the move.. I don't think that's your fault.

That final incident with Mehmet was not your fault, he was behind you and should have backed out. You're not responsible for that.

Bit of a daft question to be fair, nobody is entitled to tell someone to move or give up their position.

Been different if he'd have said wanna work together. I'll tow you to the leaders

  • @nmp-8520
    @nmp-8520 Год назад

Devils advocate. Its difficult because he is using preset messages. If he came on chat and said lets work together, I think I am faster, take my tow. Then its a different race. Maybe it was his intention. Then again maybe not😂

i bet without the message you would have let him passed and tucked in and tried to catch the leaders but after the message its game on i would defend all day then
