  • I’ve been visiting the sand scaping at Walcott, these last few weeks and seeing the new beach take shape.
This is to help with coastal erosion along this section of the coast. The work has been a 24/7 operation and looked like a well choreographed work of art.
The speed at which it’s been completed is astounding.
The groynes have been buried under the sand, as has the slip way down to the beach, that the jet skis used and the gulls must wonder what ever is going on!!
    .
    .
Two weeks later I return to see how it is now . You may wish to watch my latest video as it isn’t good news .....
    .
    • Well wasn’t that a hug...

I’ve lots of different clips from around the local area.

I wonder just how these people pre-plan their working day. It looks like: you drive to the left in the mudd and I drive to the right. These people are experienced professionals.

Thank you so much. It was fascinating to watch them all working together. Sadly, a lot of the sand they added has already been washed away.

@@NewnameSameme I was there last year just after they finished. The beach looked fantastic but not great if the process is not fit for purpose. I have a few videos on my channel of Bacton and Walcott

They added tons of extra sand at a cost of 21 million pounds. To stop coastal erosion. Everyone knows the sea would wash the new sand away …. And it did 3 months later it had lost huge amounts. 🤦🏻‍♀️
Obviously the person who came up with that idea, has never stepped onto a beach or they would know . You really couldn’t make it up.
      Google Walcott Sand Scaping.
      Thanks for watching 😀

    Why are they doing this

Someone decided that it would be a fantastic idea , to fill the beach with multiple tons of sand to stop coastal erosion. 🤔Approximately 21 million was spent on this sand scaping scheme. Of course, 3 months later after the first severe storm a considerable amount of sand was lost to the sea. Who would have guessed that 🤣😂
I’ve other videos on the same subject and the fact it quickly disappeared. Then if that wasn’t enough 😉 the heavy rain descended for days. The huge drains leading directly off the road re directed the water to the beach. …..and promptly flushed the sand back out to sea. The whole thing and it is just my opinion of course, was a total waste of money.
