Hi, thanks for your videos. I see you have videos about apex and TikTok methods. Do you follow either or just do 3 coats like this video? Also, someone told me to use a clear base so I don't stain my nail. Is this true? Thanks!

It’s not necessary. Dip powder doesn’t stain the natural nail surface and since I soak off the dip powder, I don’t need a clear base. The clear base would be beneficial if I do fills or file to the clear layer and dip again.
The second time I did dip powder nails I used 3 layers of top coat. Huge mistake! I thought they would get extra shiny, instead, this white film formed on top of all my nails. I saved them by putting alcohol all over the nails, applied gel top coat, and cured. Have you ever used 3 layers of top coat and this happen to you? Am I not supposed to do that?

Do you use matte top coat on you nails?
You can, but I did not do that here.
Is it necessary to do three layers of dip or is it okay to do 1 or 2?
I don’t recommend doing just one.
I can get away with 2 sometimes, if the color is really pigmented. But 2-3 is my go-to number of dips.

My dip powder turns cloudy. What am I doing wrong. After I activate wait for it to dry buff then top coat then the color clouds😢
Do you cleanse the nail before top coating?
Top coats can be finicky, and if they don’t dry correctly, they can dry cloudy or patchy :(

Because I use builder gel under my dip manis, I build my apex with the builder gel.
So I normally just do 3 full dips like this video.
As for the staining:
Most dips won’t stain. The clear is optional, but good practice.

I haven’t. But I have messed up the timing of the second coat of my top coat. And then it never dried and I had to file it all off and redo 😭😩
