If you wanted to lean into the food tokens, then blossoming bogbeast is a great finisher! Crack a food to give your team +5/5 and trample when it attacks and it only goes up from there.
I wanted to do a bit more of a "huggy" theme so Uba Mask can be a great alternative to Omen Machine. Also Generous Patron can be phenomenal card draw since Rocco allows you to put the counters on your opponent's creatures as well!
As soon as a saw Rocco's general 'cast from exile' payoff in naya, I knew I had to build him. What I can say based on my preliminary testing is that he has exceeded my expectations thoroughly. He is a synergy machine. I'm skeptical of group hug deck in general, but if you don't put any more in that his first ability its not too much. 10/10
Been looking forward to this deck tech. Haven’t seen a ton of deck techs so far for him, which is surprising considering how many people liked him when he was spoiled. Really looking forward to all the food support we will be getting in the LOTR set. The new Sam, Loyal Attendant will be a great fit in the deck when he comes out as well.
I love the hype for this commander. Great vid as always. I think that I am including Mondrak in my build. The temptation of exchanging 2 food tokens for an indestructible 4/4 Anointed Procession is too tempting :)
Recently turned my Faldorn deck into this and love it. I would recommend Kodama of the West Tree and Dusk Legion Duelist they’re fantastic includes in this deck
This would be a great commander for the new battle cards since when you remove all the counters they get exiled and the backside is casted to the field. Why they worded it that way I have no idea but hey it works. Also knowledge pool and possibility storm would fit nicely with this commander too
Rocco is very Fun. I'm building a version called "Kitchen Utensils" which basically takes a lot of benefits from Equipment stuff in R/Y that also trigger in exile, as well as just good artifact stuff Very flexible commander and one I'm gonna have a lot of fun with
I made this commander and got to play it recently and it did very well. Highly recommend Shattering Gust to get a big payoff of off the food (or everything else with the manufactor), inspiring sanctuary is another good way to utilize the food tokens.
I will consider him as the commander for my +1 counter deck, with Shallar being the leader currently. They are a very efficient Counter Lord, but Rocco might make it more fun overall
Yeah Shallar is definitely stronger imo just because of the combo potential, but I'm gonna be running rocco for fun. I also have a counters deck with Halana and Alena so rocco will be more exile focused
@@brandoncreek5709 I don't even play combo - I think they are boring AF. Even without them, they absolutely smoke people. They seem to to absolutely nothing, they sit there unresponded, until I suddenly double counters for lethal
I'm tempted to break my Gyome deck to put one of these together. There's a lot less food cards w/out black, but picking up the +1/+1 counter cards would make up for it.

what equips do you mean exactly? only one that comes to my mind is Sword of Forge and Frontier

Have you considered playing Trail of Crumbs? It triggers whenever you sacrifice a food, even to abilities of other stuff.
