NL getting an 8-ball run to work right before the patch changes it to give tarots instead of planets.
Is that actually happening? That's kind of crazy if that's the case. We already have Vagabond. Why have another Tarot generator?
tbh it was weird that the 8-ball (a sort of "fortune telling" toy much like tarot) gave planets, but there should be a new planet generating joker then
@@radarhead82 Yeah. It makes sense thematically, but there needs to be more Planet or hand enhancing generators other than Space Joker, Burned Joker, and Astronomer. Neither of those are as good Vagabond or Cartomancer.

Blue seals are apparently also being reworked to be better so there's that for planet generation

My type A chatter brain wrinkles are chained in the basement, but every now and then I can hear their screams as NL looks at flat mult jokers with such loving eyes while having steel cards with red seal potential. My type B chatter wrinkles also like seeing number go up on joker.

@@Gorbgorbenson 8 ball gives two planets, which give .2 overall mult when used. 3.0\0.2 is 15, so if he would've taken the 3 mult he would've essentially just gotten an instant 15 turns of 8 ball, which is more than he got the rest of the run anyway.

You mentioned that you didn't need more Xmult because you already had Xmult from the planet jokers.
Adding Xmult doesn't get diluted the more you have though, like chips and flat mult do.
Whether or not you have Xmult already shouldn't be considered when you are thinking about getting more.

I am perfectly aware that it probably wouldn't have been enough for the final blind but just wanted to make sure that technically, since blueprint doesn't copy editions anyways, it would've been better placed between the two holographic constellations. Since they're adding +10. So instead of x9.5 +10 x9.5 +10 x9.5, it becomes +10 x9.5 x9.5 +10 x9.5. (ie ignoring cards and other jokers: if the base mult was 10 then the way NL had it would give 285 mult and the way it would be if blueprint was in the middle would be 1007.5 mult.) Does that make sense or am I mistaken with how blueprint works?

31 on fortune teller is unironically the tipping point for it being better than the half joker. 1.5 times 20 is 30. this mfer left it to vibes and was spot on holy-
i think at that point its still worse than poly half joker though when you factor in mult from hand level though. even with pair (at the point in the run where he got it) the extra 13 mult is added and multiplied and it adds up to about 45 mult pre-constellationization, and with four of a kind its like 75.
His hand after switching was about 800 mult worse, or about 200k. So objectively worse at the onset, but i would have made the same move with the set of jokers he was working with. Better to have the flat mult appreciate with this set up.

NL was right in selling Half Joker to buy Tarot Joker. Simply put, 20 mult x 1.5 is basically 30. Given that it's his only flat mult joker (not counting mult cards), this will always be 30. Tarot Joker can scale better over time, considering that it was 31 when he took it, it was already good.

He’s running a planet build and you don’t take into account base mult also any buffed cards
The thing is the polychrome wouldve done more if he just ignored the card ability itself and just placed it at the end and played 4 of a kinds
But also the tarot card could get wof snd just scale naturally so at the time it was probably questionable but in the end it works out
(20+13)*1.5 = 49.5, 31 = 31. Fortune teller also gets worse if you start adding steel or glass cards which will multiply your mult before it will apply.

NL testing me with him not being able to understand howuch mult is added by a joker dependent on its placement in the order. Why do you care about what happens AFTER either of the jokers would have been applied. It's IRRELEVANT. +20 x 1.5 the current mult or +31 (or more) on the current mult. Which ends up with the bigger number at that point? That's it.

Type B chatter at 28:00 saying you could wheel the joker later is the reason NL is gonna stay behind. Why would wheeling it be a good thing you have the best wheel outcome already on the half joker and the odds to get polychrome of fortune teller is low. Just stay the course til you get a multiplying joker especially when the planets are scaling the flat mult.
90% of balatro players pass on wheel before they hit big. Type A chatters are getting too comfortable istg
@@giannistaz it’s not about waiting to use wheel it’s about selling a joker that is better for the time being and justifying it by saying that wheel COULD hit it with the most unlikely outcome that the previous joker already has. Don’t buy tarot but yea use wheel all the time it’s a couple of gold
