» THE MALAGASY VILLAGE FOOD
1. FOIE GRAS DE TANA (COIN DU FOIE GRAS): Foie Gras
ADDRESS: BA 59 Behenjy RN7 Madagascar, Antananarivo 101, Madagascar
OPEN: 6AM - 9PM
🦆30 miles outside of Antananarivo is a locally owned and operated restaurant specializing in Malagasy foie gras. The chef slices the duck liver into smaller pieces, season with salt and pepper and saute in oil until it turns a golden brown. Plate, garnish and eat!
💸PRICE: 2 duck livers 12 USD/45,000 MGA
----
2. FAMILY HOME: Goose
ADDRESS: Ambatolampy
🇲🇬 Two hours outside of the capital city Antananarivo lies a small Malagasy village, Ambatolampy. We spent the day with a local family, who live in clay houses they built, on a rice farm which provides food for the family. Any additional rice they have, they sell to make a living. The family of 25 invited us to join them for a family feast of goose. One goose feeds the entire family, and we were fortunate enough to be able to experience this family meal.

🥒ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but currently call Vietnam home. I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. People either enjoyed my undeniable charm or enjoyed watching me eat things like coconut worms, and thus Best Ever Food Review Show came to be.
I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer. If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.
Don’t forget to subscribe to Best Ever Food Review Show, so we can connect through food and travel and become Bestys!

You should be awarded for promoting food tourism in every countries you've been to!
No. He should be awarded for being a charming prick. Seriously. Can't find much to hate him on.
amit kumar amm You are wrong. It is correct, “to” not “too”...Dumbass
Magical Panda your don’t make sense either
Bean Yuan Yes, I do.The other guy was trying to correct him but he had no mistake.
Magical Panda, my bad
I love this guy, he never compliants about the Hygeine and how the food is cooked
obviously he wont and even he does it is not shown in here
It’s been edited out of the final video posted on his channel...
He's white
You again....iv noticed youve thrown this kinda comment in every video...apart from India!!
@@itachisukimudee8562
This comment was made 11 months back, when did u notice the same comment from me
3:22 , the translator is actually trolling sonny. What he says translates to « make him chase after the strongest and fastest one, I wanna see him sweat. »
Thank you, i’d never be able to notice that without translation
Just found out you’ve started tours in Madagascar. I’m not from there but I’m African and it melts my heart to see someone appreciate african cultures. Sonny u are AMAZING!!!
African culture is one of the best cultures. I love Africans.
Hello Sonny Can you Côme to cameroon Africa
Probably the most underrated channel in RUclips.
@Duschenreiniger im sorry grammar Nazi😥😥🙂🙂
@Duschenreiniger never miss out a chance to correct someone bro
He was underrated at 100k something not anymore at 2 millie.
@@keronfarrier2198 well with that quality of his video and the time he spent creating this content is really underappreciated.
Yeah i remember when this channel only have 100k subs
This is starting to become more of a culture review than a food review, but I'm not complaining
food tells stories of a culture
Yeah it’s what made Anthony Bourdain’s travel shows so profound and enjoyable. He really got into how the people live through food, and Sonny is doing a great job with that too!
Food IS culture
You can't separate food from culture lmao
Anthony burdain man. This guy remind me of Anthony but more "happy vibes"
Not to say they're poor. But actually they're really rich. They basically have everything that people nowadays don't have . And the most important thing is they know how to appreciate the little thing they have.
b.k that’s very true, hate spoiled brats
If that's what you say to make yourself feel better then sure...Lots of rich people also have happy families
Yes they don't have
High cholesterol
Diabetes
Obesity
Alzimers
Dementia
High blood pressure
Yeah its true
I am pr proud to be a Malagasy
you are not only showing the food culture also showing and understand people how important is food for people and how hard they are working to get it at the end of the day......respect from assam india
True bro
The guide seems so chill and cool to hang out with! Definitely feeling the friendliness of the Malagasy people
Thanks from Madagascar !
I am malagasy and I m friendly
Dude. THIS should be on Discovery. They let a star slip through their hands ;)
Indeed
Dylan Byrne no let’s keep it on RUclips... all they going to do is edit the best part out because everyone in this country is culturally sensitive to every little thing that exists
Dumm Myth Agree
thats right!
youtube is better
I love this channel, I'm currently pregnant almost 7months n this is the only way my daughter in my stomach keeps quiet or slping. Plus it's very educational and the people and the cultures are very beautiful makes me proud to b black and very appreciative of sonny for loving n accepting different cultures💕❤💯

They are lucky..no city stress..simple livin...city people would kill for that.!
"Little" as compared to what, your lifestyle and possessions?
@@OjaysReel It's very little, yes, cause I'm from there but the way you do and share it is a huge thing, plus its a raw and delicious cooking and lifestyle!
The more you have, the more you have do just to keep them
The cameraman does an excellent job! I’d like to see him eating as well 😄
Have they ever shown him?
Tony Ngo nope
I think it is actually a camerawoman
Noel Delgado Corbalan why

this is surely my favorite video about madagascar. No repetitive comment about the country's poverty, no complaint about anything, enjoying every single thing he experiences. I hope you enjoyed your time here.
Your country is beautiful :) I'm glad this video helped me learn a little about it :)
His co-host reminds me of Jazz from fresh prince of bel air😂😂
lol i get that vibe
Literally the BEST EVER FOOD REVIEW SHOW. Love it!!
I swear the government of each country that he has visited need to make Sonny the ambassador for their Tourism Board 😻 I mean I had no idea Madagascar was this lovely, so much hospitality! I always thought it was just full of beaches and sunshine, just your typical beach holiday destination 👏😻
I mean the poor families hosting him probably got paid a shitload of money to feed him.
Sonny is just funny, that makes him stand out. You cant get enough of his documentaries, always want to watch more
People don't have enough food to eat and we waste so much of food every day we should thanks God for what we have
@Halpha Bet and the plants that lay their life for the humans that eat them and plants are living things btw
@@Zionwilliams897 That's why. We hindus worship cereals as annapurna.respect for even mountains and rivers which cause rain and and quench our thirst.but people called it superstition .btw plants bacteria virus have lived but they have no emotion as like animals.humans and animals have same emotions and fear pain of death.but stupid non vegetarian neglect it knowingly.human flesh should also be allowed so that I can eat Ur kids flesh.
SHOEB GOURI god isn’t real.
The people in these video have more than enough organic foods
Rich people mostly ignorant and ungrateful...
Lovely people, lovely destination, amazing video... as always! Thanks for that Sonny 😊🙏

We eat that fried bread in South Africa with syrup or mince, we call it Vetkoek which translates to fat cake. It's so good!
We have them also in Zimbabwe fat cooks I wonder If they are a southern African thing x

“When I’m old and cool like you, I’m gonna eat a lot of butts” 😂
I think this is one of the most profound episodes on this show. There’s a certain appreciation of their lifestyle, but their hardship isn’t negated in the process.
White people reading this: what Sonny does is way better than White philanthropists coming in to third world nations to ‘help’ the people. This is respectful and authentic, helps local economy without compromising their autonomy, and generally raises awareness. Thanks for your show, Sonny :)
This is why I love RUclips
True! Mark weins too 😉

I like his reviews without being patronizing or condescending to his hosts regardless of the taste. I like that if it's not his thing, he says so. Keep up the great content.
This is one of the reasons I enjoy your videos, Sonny; you actually connect with the locals wherever you are and try to interact with them, and take them seriously as people, and in turn educating us viewers as to what the world outside the US is like, which is more than the "social justice" types in America will ever do with their lives. Well done, sir! Keep up the good work!
