I am 62 years old and was brought up on Led zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink floyd and Deep Purple but Riverside outshine them all.
Cannot wait for the DVD of this concert as it shows piotr at his best and is a fitting tribute to a wonderful guitarist.

My first reaction upon 'discovering' Riverside in 2021 was sheer joy, and amazement that they had previously escaped my notice. When I learned of Piotr's passing a short time later, my reaction was, "NOOOO! I just found you!".

I have Riverside playing in the house all time. I was listening to this song while working in the kitchen and found myself yelling a response when Mariusz asks...How are you doing tonight! I think I need to see this band live 😆 Sad Piotr is not longer with us though. 😔

@@leonard_oakenshield Don't hold your breath, why release it as a dvd first? Seems they have some aversion to bluray.. Ok, it can still be good (heard the concert on youtube, and it is fabulous) but when one is used to bluray, DVD is like a slap in the face, no matter how good.
@@ulfingvar1 It seems this concert wasn't filmed in BlueRay quality, hence the DVD. The Wasteland box includes a BlueRay disc.

@@tims7218 It's only being sent out to those that had tickets to the cancelled show earlier this year. So, for now, Ebay or Discogs. Some copies will be available to the fan club members sometime after New Year. I'm a member and there's a ton of fun merch so I would say the member fee is reasonable. Good luck, I hope you hunt one down.

Such a pity that they just didn't include that beautiful piano intro. It's what makes this song special imo.
That part was featured only during the ADHD tour and acted as a concert intro. During their 2015 it was the 3rd song in the setlist so that's why they started with the hard riff
Annoying. But worse still is when they cut out the best bit of 02 Panic Room. For the life of me, I can't understand why they would write one of the best couple of minutes in musical history then cut it away live...
I'm just happy they released a live HD video of a song from ADHD

Also, what happened to Piotr K after ADHD? It's like he got neutered. All this amazing intensity and creativity was gone in an instant
Piotr K has never been a good drummer in my opinion... Not enough smooth, and groovy-less. His worst performance is in the album Love Fear and the Time Machine. His best is in Anno Domini that' for sure.
@@laurenzomora12 yeah I hear you, he doesn't have a natural groove like Gavin Harrison but on ADHD he showed that he has a lot of tricks in his locker that he doesn't utilize at all anymore sadly

So my exclusive 'only to be sold at gigs' copy isn't so exclusive anymore, and i now have to buy the whole thing again if i want the dvd.
Riverside are beginning to match Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree for re-releasimg titles but with extras thrown in, tempting you to repurchase which makes your initial purchase redundant.
You dont have to but it, man. No one is aiming you with a gun to do it, hahahahaha.
I think the idea is to release something to make some money while the band cannot tour because theres a pandemic out there.
@@gaspode8 but they've previous on this. Love, Fear and The Time Machine was released but then later re-released as a special edition with hi-res and 5.1 added.
Eye Of The Soundscape is the previously available bonus disk from Love Fear and the Time Machine, and the bonus disk of Shrine Of New Generation Slaves, with 4 new tracks added.
Wasteland was released and then followed later by a special edition release with hi-res, 5.1, videos and an acoustic session cd.
Why can' they release these options from day 1 instead of fleecing their fans for extra cash.

Steve Evans Perhaps because its too expensive to do it in one step. If the album is successful you can release a 5.1-mix (the production of such a mix costs money), if not you don’t do it.
