I prefer this to the white dial!
It’s perfection. Although I think I’d accept 0.5mm more thickness with a sapphire case back. But otherwise this watch is stunning.
It’s not the white dial speedy bracelet mate it’s it 321 flatlink.

It should be illegal to hide such a gorgeous movement in the back. It’s brand new not “historical”. If you can reimagine a historical watch why not reimagine it with an open case back? I mean, they reimagined it with sapphire. So…🤷♂️

Stunning watch. It has a completely new bracelet to the white faced and black 3861 sapphire sandwich. This one is 19mm and 3 link brushed centre and polished outer links, unlike the 20mm 5 link bracelet on the moonwatch. Wrist check, wearing my Panda Daytona 126500.

I’d also look into the two ck2998s the blue and the racing variants. You could probably get those at around the same price in the secondary market. If I hadn’t gotten the older version of the FOIS for very cheap, I would’ve bought one of those instead. Drawback is they don’t come with a bracelet, but with this new one out, you could probably purchase the bracelet.

That dial is BEAUTIFUL The stepped minute track, the way the lume is inlaid, and the deep steel blue color.......a masterpiece!

Wearing the 2 tone speedy today. Fun fact… heard from a reputable Omega source that the real reason why hesalite was used on the OG moonwatch was that it was more readily available at the time. Same with the manual wound movement.

321 Ed White the ultimate speedmaster
I bought a lovely early 2000’s Speedy second hand, a few years ago. I have to say this new old model is stunning! Nice to know this first Omega in space was “launched” the day after I was born in 1962. Must be a sign!🥰🤑🤣 Today I’m wearing a Limited Edition 1964 Seiko Presage with champagne dial.👍🏼😎

As a speedy owner, I love this tribute version! Lug to lug is a bit bigger than the current speedy, but it’s ok I guess. The price though…

I wear a fossil. Its a flieger style watch that belonged to my grandfather who passed away a few months agoand now i wear his watch. This watch is special to me because it was his (obviously) and because he got it for his birthday by my father.

Gorgeous. That bezel does look like it sticks out pretty far from the case - I wonder if the 39.7mm of this watch is measured across the bezel or the case. If it’s the case, the watch might end up wearing just slightly larger, like maybe the bezel is closer to 41 or 42mm? With the 48mm lug to lug, it’s basically a perfect size for most wrists.
As I mentioned on your previous video, I’m wearing my FOiS 50th on Forstner Bands SS mesh bracelet. This new watch should, indeed, have the calibre 321 imo, although I would really like a 3861 for practical reasons. The chosen bracelet looks like the one from the ‘57 Trilogy Speedmaster, which looks great and is really comfortable. The pushers look oversized and rather clumsy. The too-brown lume was widely criticized on the Trilogy Speedy and I don’t like it on this watch. The caseback design is nice. Not keen on the blue dial, although the colour looks quite subtle here. Overall, a stylish watch which will be very popular. Well done, Omega.

I originally purchased it on the bracelet, but then purchased the OEM black rubber strap with deployant clasp. I'm considering buying the Paris 2024 red strap for it. But I'm also considering the RubberB red strap - only issue is the RubberB is not compatible with Omega Clasp...

On my wrist today Omega Speedmaster Professional calibre 3861 sapphire sandwich. Always a pleasure to admire the beautiful movement at its back.

Completely outside the context of the Speedy, that's just one gorgeous dial. Always had ambiguous feelings about the Speedmaster hype, but this is a watch I lust after for it's looks. Everything else is a bonus.
I enjoyed your video. Today it’s a 1968 rolex. I have a 321 1964 speedy but I have to say my jaw dropped when I saw this omega . I just may have to get one. This watch is gorgeous.
3:39 No, they didn't ever have a leather strap on any of the moon landings. NASA supplied the nylon strap (had NASA part number) to be worn doubled as in the photo when onboard and single on the sleeve of the spacesuit when on EVA, hence moonwalks. When worn in private, the astronauts used the JB straps, as Omega only started making metal straps in the late 60s for the Speedmaster.
A bunch of errors in this one. Yes, nylon strap. Also, the bracelet here is a flat link and nothing like the white dials bracelet.
I'm currently wearing a 3570.50 Moon watch. I like the new version but I'd hold out for a 42mm edition but am thinking about a Seamaster with a blue dial.

That 12o'clock is kinda hard to go unnoticed.
The original FOIS on a forstner flat link looks just like this, except for the dark blue dial, the fauxtina and the master chronometer. The numbered edition FOIS also had sapphire rather than hesalite.
I think this is sapphire, but shaped like Hesalite.
Well, I'm having the 2012 FOIS with flat link bracelet from Uncle Seiko. Love to see that Omega listen to the feedback and update the FOIS with more accurate details like DON bezel and vintage Omega logo. But I hate the faux patina lume though, a bit too much imho.
Love the soleil dial. Production volumes of the 321 just aren't big enough to support many watches.
If they can do this. Why not the 1963 Seamaster shark tooth next. That would be an instant smash hit.

A watch that I’d like to see revived by Omega is the Speedmaster “TV” reference 176.0014 from the 1970s.
The only time I have seen this watch was at the Omega museum in Biel/Bienne.
If Omega chose to reissue that watch, then I’d be an immediate buyer! On top of that, Omega would marry the integrated bracelet sports watch genre with the iconic Speedmaster name. I can only see a double-win for Omega but I do recognise I am very likely in the minority with that view.

I see lots of comments about see through casebacks…..just a provocative question…..how many people actually look at the movement more than once a year. I have a few watches with a see through caseback and I can’t tell you the last time I looked at the movement, yet everyone wants one. Why?

The new one definitely does not have the same bracelet as the White Speedy. The only thing that looks the same is the micro adjustment in the clasp. I am wearing my white Speedy now (actually on a leather strap - I like it with a leather strap for a change up).
The notable difference is the lug width. The new one is 19mm not 20mm as per the current Speedmaster Pro lineup. Lug width aside, this new speedy with the slightly smaller case dimensions does look awesome. I love the applied patina looks on the markers. Anyway I cant wait to see it in the metal over the weekend.

Looks fantastic in every sense, the petrol blue dial, the applied omega logo, the lack of the word "Professional" giving it a cleaner look, the size is nice and the bracelet compliments the head, however; the use of fautina hmmmmm I don't know, I have to see one in the flesh....also the fact that the back covers the movement may be a deal breaker for me and pursue the Pro white instead.
If I ever buy a speedy, and I may, it won't be "original". That is to say it will have the newer movement and sapphire crystal. Im not paying thousands for a watch with a plastic crystal because that's what they used to use.
Wonder if that bracelet will fit the original FOIS?

I think the classic speedy or the new white one are perfection, this original one is very cool but not as perfect as the clean straight white hands.
Please note the proportions of the 3861 pro: 20, 47.5, 13.2 wear smaller than the proportions of the 3861 fois: 19, 48, 13.4. Note the dial size is identical on both pieces.

Decorated movements with closed casebacks upsets me more than open casebacks with an unfinished movement.
Well the idea of decorating a movement even in invisible places, is for the pleasure of the watchmaker who will take it apart for maintenance or repair. That is ultimate attention to detail.
As someone with the original FOiS I'm just glad it's different enough not to be an straight update to that one.
Too bad the market has changed though, $7500 is insane when I spend less than $4k for the original...

It's a lovely watch, but I find it weird that we celebrate the first Omega in space. The first watch in space was the Breitling Navitimer Ref. 809. The first watch in open space was the Strela. And the first watch on the moon was the Omega Speedmaster. But why celebrate the first watch from a specific brand in space? Are we to do that for all brands of watches that have been in space?

generally, a beautiful watch. Two things I prefer at the (white dial) Speedmaster. First, you can see the stunning movement and secondly, unlike what you've said, the bracelet is not the same. I think the bracelet of the "normal" Speedmaster is really nice (look and feel) but this is more like the bracelet of the Aquaterra which somehow looks not quite right. I think the middle links are too wide but maybe that's just my taste. The dial is really nice though

I likr the new Speedy FOIS I think it's pretty nice..the smaller dimensions and details of the FOIS are pretty good. I don't think there's a premium, if so I don't think it's too much, over the standard moon watch. Still pricey, but, a decent new offering without spending Ed White money.
