Hi Everyone, it seems RUclips has done something to the audio on this. I was fine in the edit. Please accept my apologies. Overall content remains the same though.
still watching but wondering under what firmware you had tested it cause I might missed it in the beginning. No FPV drone, no mavic 3 and even the air 2s had come - and gone, while the autel might be an alternative once it becomes a lot cheaper in the black friday and single day sales. Save my money this year and stay again with mavic 2 pro and mini 2. good, not great nor fancy but both are quite capable, not obsolete workhorses.
Cannot agree with you more, regarding the Mavic 3 Pro possibility. Autonomous flight along with Interchangeable lenses. Pure speculation but I would not be surprised to see this company offer small advances in upgrades from now on. Much like apple does. (lower case on purpose)
👍🏻 Thank You for yet another excellent video. You are my primary “go to” channel for RF. Your knowledge and in-depth content are greatly appreciated! Just a quick note -> I am getting dramatically better performance with the RC-Pro over the “original” Smart Controller when flying with the Air-2s. Dramatic!! (approx 42% better range!). The Mavic-3 coupled with the RC-Pro / O3. give me far better range/distance performance than anything I have ever obtained with any other craft & controller. (including the Mavic-2 Pro and Mavic-2 Zoom with “telemetry data display” stock controller with external directional antenna with 5-watt bi-directional amplifier….! and…. Without the mess of cables and gear). Has anyone out there tried the “CINE~BIDEN” model yet? It supposedly has a new AI-based tracking feature that keeps the camera tightly focused on any LITTLE GIRLS and/or CRACK COCAINE DEALERS. The “CINE~BIDEN-JOE” variant includes the latest “Sniffing Technology”. When it identifies a target victim, usually an innocent little girl within reach…. It locks on to the target and “SNIFFS”. 73 from the USSA (🇺🇸 😷 🤡 USA Under Siege) KD2MKX
Don’t agree with your assessment when it Come to Mavic 2 pro and the Mavic 3. The Mavic 3 image both in good lighting and low light is noticeable better than the Mavic 2 pro at least to me and many others that is coming from the Mavic 2 pro.
This video is way better than the other tuber I have seen, who wasnt mentioning the gimbal cover problem at all, but praised the whole product for the entirety of the video
Very good review. Won't be upgrading from my mavic 2 pro. Unless I really need low light performance, then I can see (mavic 2 pro is very noisey at night/dusk) that happening.
@@MadRC oh, interesting 🤔 Still very watchable, just reminds me of the “audio enhancements” on discord that make your mic sound better when you turn them off.
Definitely a full objective review. I would like to have your thoughts about Hyperlapses and waypoints. I consider Waypoints a must have for this price pro-summer drone, Liked and subscribed. Best
The gps problem was caused by DJI purchasing a automotive grade chipset because of Covid the firmware had a hard time due to the fact that I don’t think they kept very good track on what drone had the odd chipset , it has been resolved and works very well now once they worked out the firmware and updated it
The chipset was not the issue. I proved that in my testing. DJI had issues in their code else where. The change to automotive model made no difference to performance.
Love to know your thoughts on the Camera of the Mavic 3 (or I guess Mavic 2 Pro as they seem similar) to the Autel Evo Lite+ From what I have seen it looks like from a purely camera clarity point of view the Lite+ is actually better possibly because Autel state the lens is made of German glass. The Lite+ is definitely sharper in the edges. I wonder if the form factor is a bridge to far in the Mavic 3 for the size of the camera assembly? Would love to hear your view if you have had experience with the Lite+ I see you had a pre-release video for the Nano and Lite back in September... any chance of a follow-up? Thanks for the review, your analysis pushes me towards the Lite+ as I'm just looking for stills performance. Cheers
Very good and honest video, thank you (not sure why I haven't seen this already!). I am an aerial photographer, focusing on landscape raw stills - sometimes in low evening light. I want to upgrade my M2P however from this I deem the investment for Mavic 3 not worthwhile - I am not to concerned with video. Perhaps I would be better concentrating my investment instead on an Autel Evo Lite Plus?
You are totally wrong about warm start for gps, its instant and most are reporting this. So this is not a problem. And the app has been greatly improved and nothing like you showed on the video. I know you mentioned very small battery view, but just touch the icon and it will drop down all the information you need and this is the same all over the the interface of the app again you failed to demonstrate this. This includes all camera settings. The fly app is a much easier app to navigate and it may be missing two features from Go4 app but thats it and its far far easier to operate active track and all auto features with no need to trawl through sometimes 3 pages to get to something like panoramas etc. my guess is you weren’t up to date with this review.
There are a LOT of reports of cold and warm start issues being posted on groups even today. Further to the soo screen I don’t want to have to touch it to see what’s going on. The data needs to be there ready for me with out jumping though menus. To say I am totally wrong is nonsense. It’s your opinion and this is mine. I have been flying DJI aircraft since 2014 both as hobby and professionally and also used to help beta test and even run the DJI owners groups. I have heard of experience using these and many pro users are just finding this craft difficult to integrate and not their workflow.
@@MadRC the problem is your quick review of the app failed to mention the very big update it received . You have just said you don’t want to be trawling through app or jumping through menus, so how do you manage this when you’re trying to shoot panoramas or active track or so many other features that are now available at a single touch. Apoligies if I said you were totally wrong, but there as many on forums saying they’re not having problems with a warm start. My comments are not meant to be personal but the review is not my experience .
Thank-you so much. As a Mavic 2 Pro flyer the only reason I would even consider the Mavic 3 was the suggestion that its camera performed better for still photography. Now that you have debunked that myth, I'm definitely not interested at the price point DJI has set for this new drone.
Awesome video. I think this will be an amazing drone but think Dji have a lot to do. I'm so glad I didn't buy one when it was first released. I have a mavic Air2 and ill be sticking with it for a while, as even though I would like the Mavic 3 it is out of my price range.
I still have the Original Mavic Pro, released way back years ago. I was really looking forward after a very long wait for the Mavic 3, but sadly it came out as a half baked product. I am so disappointed with the way DJI are holding back features that should have been on this drone. Even with the firmware update, it still feels an incomplete drone to me. The Cine version is far too expensive for most people. I am not sure where to go at this point. Should I continue to wait for further improvements, and likely be disappointed again... Or should I look at what Autel are offering? If this drone came out with what we were all expecting, I would have likely already purchased it by now... but to me, it still looks that DJI is holding back... such as still providing the old remote, the new fly app. is not as good as the GO4 app. and so on.... And that second lower quality camera.... Why DJI?
Great in depth review of the Mavic 3. I need to test the prores on my Cine version during low light. I didn’t know there was a noticeable difference. I wouldn’t compare this drone to the mavic 2 pro. I think the mavic 3 outperforms the mavic 2 in so many of the attributes and characteristics.
Well your own initial comment is a contradiction in terms and fails to indicate what drones should serve as a basis of comparison. I know a fanboy when I see one.
Appreciate the objective review but I have to say the image quality on the Mavic 3 is evidently an improvement from the 2 Pro, more details and better color definition.
There is no more detail in the M3 image than the M2Pro. In fact it’s overly processed in many ways. Both are 20mp and there is no benefit to that sensor unless it’s low light. As for colour that’s a profile on JPG. That’s nothing to do with the image sensor it’s self. DJI have tweaked the colour profile but I would be using raw anyways.

Is it by design that the blue border of your work mat lines up perfectly with the youtube video progress bar? its oddly satisfying
Your audio sounded a bit compressed/processed or like, phone callish?

Sorry but I'm a bit confused here. Is the benefit of the M3 in low light only when using ProRes?
Very much yes. More than H265.
What Drone has the best camera?
Great advice! If everyone listened to you, their batteries would last forever.

The advertised flight time is 46 minutes not 38.
and im getting 37/39 minutes of real flight time
It can't be perfect but it's the best in terms of flight performance.
I have to disagree with the feel and the build quality. I’ve owned every Mavic ad well, and this is right in line.
nice job air 2s army out
