- The H2Atlas-Africa project was officially launched on 10 June 2020 in Jülich where the SASSCAL’s Executive Director, Dr Jane M. Olwoch gave an online address. The project funded by the Germany Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for about 5.7 million euros was given a go-head by Parliamentary State Secretary, Thomas Rachel. The aim of the H2Atlas-Africa project is to strengthen and support the region’s capacity for a viable hydrogen economy. The immediate outcome of the project will be an interactive atlas, showing identified Green Hydrogen hotspots. The two main partners in Africa are WASCAL and SASSCAL.
