This Surfer Discovers Pieces of Paradise in Costa Rica's Beaches

Take a ride with surfer, global sailor, writer, environmental advocate, and general badass Liz Clark as she explores the simple life close to nature on Costa Rica's northern beaches. From surfing the iconic pointbreaks of Witches Rock and Ollie’s Point, to dining local style with a family at Playa Barco Quebrado, Liz cruises off the beaten path in this often-overlooked region of the country.
A conservationist and advocate for wildlife preservation, Liz visits the Refuge for Wildlife-an organization that, for the past 19 years, has been rehabilitating injured, displaced, and orphaned wildlife on the Nicoya Peninsula for release back into the wild. Next up is Santa Rosa National Park, one of the oldest and largest in Costa Rica, and a quick visit to the nesting turtles at Playa Ostional.
Costa Rica was the first place Liz went on a solo surf trip years ago (before she sailed the world alone), and she’s relieved to see that nothing has changed in that time.
