As someone who plays (and explores) on two different accounts, and discovered the interactive map late into their Genshin journey, I have a small tip for people who’ve already started exploring regions and are close to 100% on the map, but haven’t reached it yet, yet they don’t find the missing chests: use the fanmade interactive map and exclusively select “mini-puzzle”, “buried chests” and “first time defeat enemies”. Mini puzzles are the hidden stuff for things that don’t appear on the map, like “kill all 7 hilichurls on the buoys in Fontaine” or “shoot a Hilichurl target practice near wangshu inn”. This helped me get 100% in Bishui plain and Minlin after one year of having them at 96 and 98% respectively because i hadn’t opened shrines of depths as a challenge to myself. I definitely still have tens of chests lying around in my world…
as someone who is very close to 100% genshin (not the map, like the actual full game 100%) i think this is the best guide for casuall players who want to see the nice 100% numbers on their maps. however, and im sure you will talk about this when your teased achievement guide releases, if you only follow the things you talked about here, you wont even come close to a "true" 100%. the amount of stuff that is gated behind extremely obscure stuff in this game is insane. there are entire questlines, especially in inazuma and sumeru, that are gated behind a specific choice on a daily comission, or talking to a random npc, or for a specific example the hidden fortune slip questline in inazuma. most players will never do all of this, and alot of these things not only grant achievements at the end, but also chests. the only way to actually truly 100% this game is by going on the wiki and noting down every single wonders of the world achievement you dont have, then working on completing everything. sorry for grammar and spelling just wanted to spit my take on this aswell, as someone mentally insane enough to literally farm everything in the entire game
The one thing I am grateful for is that most of them grant achievements so you can easily check if you've done something or not, without those it'd be hell
wait, what changed in 4.4? I just started the All Achievements run and since I'm now at like 1100, I already got ready for the comission torture. How is it not as painful as before?@@wybel
I tried to start 100%ing Teyvat with the interactive map, burned out and left genshin for a month. Came back and decided to only use the int map for the oculi, and 100% the map without it (only the shown 100% not the actual 100%) Turns out i just want to have fun, playing the game, and not tab out for every single exploration item i collect.
A quick search on youtube will tell you that there are guide makers who have mapped out completed routes for every region and will show you exactly where every collectible is. It's certainly not the option for you if you think it takes away the fun of finding everything yourself, but otherwise, these are ten folds more time efficient than the interactive map. Also, the 100% indicator on the map is not true 100% (the worst case being the pyramid in the desert where 100% is actually 85-90%), and these guides will make sure you truly 100% everything.
If you don’t like using the interactive map (like me) I suggest using the treasure compass to get you to low-mid 90s and then searching “(the region) hidden chests”. This allows you to get all the ones the compass missed which in most places will then bring you up to 100.
My tip for map exploration using video guides: If you have side mouse buttons(M4,M5 etc), you can bind those to play/pause media. This means you can pause the video when you need to(such as killing enemies for a chest), without wasting time to switch RUclips into focus and manually pause it, then switch back. I won't go in to depth on how to bind the play/pause, Google should help. I do know that Logitech G Hub has play/pause as an option to bind, so it's pretty easy if you have a logitech mouse.
WAS EXCITED FOR A MOMENT thinking this was another achievements vid but this is good too! currently trying to explore sumeru after putting it off for so long.
There probably won't be another achievement vid for a while imo - the ones he has left are all the hefty ones that take months - ley lines, flowers, fishing and commission RNG. I've been farming hard myself and am still only at 1168/1185 with only commissions stopping my 100%
Adding on for Liyue exploration, if you don't wanna use geo traveler, albedo also works to activate those plates, and his E lasts longer than Amber's Baron Bunny! Zhongli also works, but I believe Albedo's E lasts the longest of all of them? Source: I used him for every single one of those plates in the Chasm that starts a "Climb these random objects to hit the objective marker" trial
wanted to add: in defense of the official interactive map, your best friend for enjoyability and efficiency is the map pins. they just upped it to 200 AND allowed batch deleting, and most importantly they make it sync with hoyolabs' official interactive map. seriously this did wonders for me. i dont want to glance at my map every so often, but i still want to get near 100% if not complete. with map pins, i can just mark the things ive done at the moment and go over them/clear them in the map when i got time. this way i dont have to constantly peek at my phone/another device while exploring. it REALLY took the fun out of it before, but this way i can explore freely without the looming terror that ill miss a few importsnt stuff forever since i "think" i cleared an area
okay wanted to add again: i think you should open shrines last, they give so much % its hard to tell if you got most of the chests. id say get them when youre at 85-90%
please do more videos or stream, your voice is so nice listening to you i love just turning the genshin 100% map video on while i go to bed and fall asleep :3
I know that following map on your own is part of the experience but I just follow these particular channels' guides. KimDaoGame: Great way to get all chests, no talk and music. TakaGG: Great way for oculi, zoomed map and everything. This is great way to just simply explore along with the vid, no hassle of reading and trying to find where chest is!
didn't know the mora boxes gave exploration until I desperately ran around Liyue with 99%, just to mindlessly open two and suddenly having 100% :') never felt so dumb,,,
i didn't use the interactive map for genshin because i used them before for botw and totk and while it was helpful, it was also exhausting having to constantly check off something on the map whenever i found a korok, unlocked a shrine, opened a chest etc and it burned me out and i didn't want that to happen in genshin. but ngl, i have regrets now. i don't necessarily want 100% completion (only have it in 2 areas so far) but i really wish i at least used the map to keep track of the oculi and shrine of depths and all that. i wish the hoyolab map was just connected to your game so it would check everything off by itself, it would probably be easy for mihoyo to implement that cause hoyolab can already show you a lot of data about your game like how many oculi you found in a certain week etc, i don't see why they can't also show us which ones
Hii so i'm an ar60 and my World IS already 100% with all quest done and many Lil thing like fishing and achivement, it's realy cool to see what are other people techniques and tips, soo great video 💯
That backgroud media tip is very good. I would actually go insane after sitting there running around for chests for 20 hours, no matter how good the in-game scenery and music are.
As a genshin completionist, I agree with your tips. The only thing I'm missing right now are the achievements and If I'm correct I only need 6 of them to reach 1185 which is the current max achievements. 1 from commission based 1 from 800 leylines 2 from Kaeya hangout (too lazy to do right now) 2 from Fontaine series (locked until the next map expansion)
What helped me SO much in liyue are guides on "hidden" chests (those that don't show with the compass) bc they used to make very simple guides of small sections. I found a lot of those random "dig" chests 😭 these guides are useful if you're not sure how far you've gone in liyue, since it's an older region
Idk, having a strategy feels tiresome. I fully explored the map barely using the interactive map, and when the map didn't show the layers and it didn't feel that exhausting, the only exception being Aranara as a whole. My best advice is to just go explore when you feel like it, and if you really want to 100% the map, you'll eventually do it just by playing casually. You don't have to do that in a week or two. It took me about 4 months, but I barely felt any burnout out of it. So yeah, be consistent but don't feel forced to do it, as this is a single player game (well, most of it). And sure, preparations are good, but discovering new things on your own and learning new stuff has a charm of its own. And, as a wise man once said: "Every journey has its final day. Don't rush." But yeah, if you really want to complete it asap, at least don't join the crybaby's group of "oMg ThIs GaMe LaCkS cOnTeNt". Sure, there's no actual end game content, but that's another discussion for another day. ✌️
Use interactive Maps, everytime u find a chest, mark that it's found. It is sooooooo much easier. I started using it in Fontaine and it was not as nearly as painful as in Sumeru
most important is time trial and seelie because they can level up your map exploration by 2% or more if the place is small like vanarana and make your interactive map not look messy
this is a very great guide! all you said is what i have been doing ever since i started playing genshin! i have a exploration team for each region and i start with all quests w the interactive map if i ever come by anything and then continue after ive done them all! i only explored the dessert after all of the quest and it really wasnt that bad as most people said! i enjoyed it! but that could be because i started playing in late 3.7 and i got to sumeru at 4.0, when the underground maps got released and explored it all in a few days. ANNNND personally the new regions are a peice of cake, good rewards, ok puzzles, some even can be fun and i enjoy it all.. did the 4.1 and 4.2 updates to 100% the day they came out cause of how cool fontaine was! wish everyone luck who starts to explore! im at 100% everywhere now and also starting the road to every achievemenst!
Alternatively, you can just follow youtube video for oculus and chest of each region, this way you can achieve 100% exploration as well. It is also time-efficient as they already choose the best route for you so you don't wander around the map yourself
My version when a region is unlocked: 1. Unlock all statue 7 and teleport waypoints 2. Do the world quests 3. Instead of using interactive which can be confusing sometimes, just use youtube videos 4. Search "how to get all oculus" 5. Search "100% chest hunt/exploration for this region etc" Tip: second monitor is ur best friends here
25 secs in and I already subbed, I know from the intro you have put in a lot of thought going into this. Will be sticking around your channel for a while mate!
I would not recommend open Shrines of depth first, because compass will always send you toward it, if it is closest chest nearby. but compass may miss some around this luxurious chest. So use it in extra situations, when you cant find the chest because of the shrine of depths, and you need unlock it just to let compass focus on the other chests
I think you might as well just use the geo traveller for every region. The rock is just extremely useful for traversal (and for cheesing some chests). Unless you're still using Traveller as a main dps or don't have a second anemo character, there's really no reason to not keep geo traveller equipped. Geo also just looks the best on Aether. Kaeya, Wrio, Mona, and Ayaka are useful, but Furina is especially useful for water traversal. Especially for the mora crates. Mona and Tighnari (as well as any other characters with distractions) are just handy if you're running away. I also imagine Xianyun, Xiao, and Wanderer would be handy, but I've never used them.
I fully explored Mondstadt first, then I got excited about Inazuma and did that. Came back to Liyue, then did Fontaine and now I'm trying as hard as I can to fully explore Sumeru but Hypostyle Desert And Gavireh Lajavard/Realm Of Farakkhert are getting on my nerves a lot. Like, I mean A LOT!

much better way imo is to explore while doing some quests better than just saving them before the actual exploration at least to save a little bit of time but kinda worth it for me
Idk if this gameplay style is going to help anyone, but I'll share anyways. I've come to enjoy the world quests and the whole ✨️experience✨️ part of the game rather than speed running it, so I've stopped trying to quickly get everything on the map and instead I do world quests and I mark off in the game anything I stumble upon. If you're not playing on a PS without a keyboard, you can practically label your markers on the map. When I get 100-150 markers on my map, I check each one of them off in the interactive map (I personally use not the official one, but the other one this guy uses as well because I've found it has more markers). This style might not appeal to many, but that's what I do and I've found it more enjoyable than blindly trying to 100% everything with a map or compass and I hope it gives someone an idea or something!
Not me being 6 days in and having the Fujin questline complete cuz I was just exploring 😅 The amount of stuff I've done WAY out of order for the sake of exploring is honestly hilarious 😂 I've found so many chests and random stuff that i need to go back and catalog which is gonna be a pain in the butt, but rather do it now before i get further in 😅
One more tip: look up videos about some very hard areas with a lot of levels. It's a lot easier to do with video and interactive map in this areas and not only map because it's hell( like dragons spine, chasm)😅
The 100% discrepancy between both Battle Chronicles and the ingame map and the interactive map always has been a curious thing for me, I really would like to know why it does happen, but whatever the reason is, the safest way to know if you have the 100% is always the interactive map, at least if you're like me and are interested in getting the TRUE 100%. I really wish the game was connected to the interactive map so everytime you got something the map checked it automatically, I would cry ;-;
Your forgot to mention the importance of "Elemental Sight", since some are well-hidden on the map, like you can see it on the treasure compass, but you dont have any idea where is it, it can help you. 😉
the official teyvat interactive map can sort out everything that is not in your current area, aka everything that is not on the layer you currently on, which i believe genshin impact interactive map cannot do
As someone who's (visually) 100% the entire map without the treasure compasses, I just want to say they're really not that useful in a lot of the regions. I use the ones I have now as I do dailies and farm materials and such to find the odd elusive chest that I somehow missed before. They're usually common chests in really obvious places, yet they're so easy to walk past lol. I actually found it really helpful to do the daily commissions in the region I was working on, because they sometimes take you places you usually don't go. (tho the longer you work on it, of course, the less it helps, but I think it's a good way to start) I'd also disagree with the 'don't bother with quests' for kind of the same reason. Of course it's not all of them, but a lot of them just walk you through certain areas and invite you to explore. In general, after doing the entire map, I found Liyue the most difficult to 100%, followed by the Sumeru forest. Watatsumi Island gets an honourable mention because I did not know about the mora crates until way later.
Yeah, is there a way to do this while I already have every region between 60 to 100%? Just meaning I dont wanna use a map showing me all chests, and I dont know which I already got or not. 😅
I hadn’t done this before Fontaine but make sure you’re making off that regions oculus’ when you get them I cannot stress how annoying the Dendroculus were in particular when trying to find the last few
Since liyue released a whole new section i dont know how i want to explore the huuge area (I still havent done the sacred cleansing ritual because i cant find the last tanuki ive searched all over for it)
Step 1: Use the interactive map. There is no step 2. That's what I got out of this. (TBF, I'm a launch day player and have 100%'ed most regions already.)

Facts - I'm at 1168/1185 and the commission RNG is PAINFUL
@@TheMeanderingduck6not anymore after the 4.4 update
The one thing I am grateful for is that most of them grant achievements so you can easily check if you've done something or not, without those it'd be hell
@@kerbluffleexactly
wait, what changed in 4.4?
Also, the 100% indicator on the map is not true 100% (the worst case being the pyramid in the desert where 100% is actually 85-90%), and these guides will make sure you truly 100% everything.
i agree with this, a 3 hour kyo video over 10 hours of interactive map any day.
Hi can you please drop a channel name which ones i should be watching? i plan on 100% everything

If you don’t like using the interactive map (like me) I suggest using the treasure compass to get you to low-mid 90s and then searching “(the region) hidden chests”. This allows you to get all the ones the compass missed which in most places will then bring you up to 100.
My tip for map exploration using video guides:
If you have side mouse buttons(M4,M5 etc), you can bind those to play/pause media.
Lowkey never even thought of this, good tip.
That 99 % is me I can’t find that last treasure
WAS EXCITED FOR A MOMENT thinking this was another achievements vid but this is good too! currently trying to explore sumeru after putting it off for so long.
There probably won't be another achievement vid for a while imo - the ones he has left are all the hefty ones that take months - ley lines, flowers, fishing and commission RNG. I've been farming hard myself and am still only at 1168/1185 with only commissions stopping my 100%
2 more achievement vids coming very shortly then up to date
I had no idea the mora boxes counted towards exploration I just walk past them half the time omg
how..

I thought those things were just random stuff that'll randomly respawn so I didn't bother collecting them.

His E also has a super low cooldown which is great for this as well
I try using Zhongli, it is useful for some parts but not for when you have to light up two platforms

5:45 or just pull for yoimiya, the underrated queen
when I discovered water boxes I finished the whole map no compass no interactive map I even did Chenyu vale when it released
wanted to add: in defense of the official interactive map, your best friend for enjoyability and efficiency is the map pins. they just upped it to 200 AND allowed batch deleting, and most importantly they make it sync with hoyolabs' official interactive map. seriously this did wonders for me. i dont want to glance at my map every so often, but i still want to get near 100% if not complete. with map pins, i can just mark the things ive done at the moment and go over them/clear them in the map when i got time. this way i dont have to constantly peek at my phone/another device while exploring. it REALLY took the fun out of it before, but this way i can explore freely without the looming terror that ill miss a few importsnt stuff forever since i "think" i cleared an area
okay wanted to add again: i think you should open shrines last, they give so much % its hard to tell if you got most of the chests. id say get them when youre at 85-90%
please do more videos or stream, your voice is so nice listening to you i love just turning the genshin 100% map video on while i go to bed and fall asleep :3
Personally I enjoy not unlocking Statues as it clearly shows me the border of the Areas and makes it easier to just focus on one after the other~
I know that following map on your own is part of the experience but I just follow these particular channels' guides.
KimDaoGame: Great way to get all chests, no talk and music.
TakaGG: Great way for oculi, zoomed map and everything.
This is great way to just simply explore along with the vid, no hassle of reading and trying to find where chest is!
didn't know the mora boxes gave exploration until I desperately ran around Liyue with 99%, just to mindlessly open two and suddenly having 100% :') never felt so dumb,,,
I'm ar60. Thank u for these tips! I didnt know about the region name written in the bottom right corner
i didn't use the interactive map for genshin because i used them before for botw and totk and while it was helpful, it was also exhausting having to constantly check off something on the map whenever i found a korok, unlocked a shrine, opened a chest etc and it burned me out and i didn't want that to happen in genshin. but ngl, i have regrets now. i don't necessarily want 100% completion (only have it in 2 areas so far) but i really wish i at least used the map to keep track of the oculi and shrine of depths and all that. i wish the hoyolab map was just connected to your game so it would check everything off by itself, it would probably be easy for mihoyo to implement that cause hoyolab can already show you a lot of data about your game like how many oculi you found in a certain week etc, i don't see why they can't also show us which ones
Hii so i'm an ar60 and my World IS already 100% with all quest done and many Lil thing like fishing and achivement, it's realy cool to see what are other people techniques and tips, soo great video 💯
thank you so much for the quest guide. it saved me from going through all the quests just to make sure nothing was locked behind some stupid quest
Thanks for the video
Although I use the interactive map always and know how to 100% but this video can be helpful for beginners
never seen someone make an exploration guide before, that’s handy - thanks a bunch!
As a youtube guides enjoyer, I never had trouble exploring everything in the map
1 from commission based
1 from 800 leylines
2 from Kaeya hangout (too lazy to do right now)
2 from Fontaine series (locked until the next map expansion)
Don't rush."
But yeah, if you really want to complete it asap, at least don't join the crybaby's group of "oMg ThIs GaMe LaCkS cOnTeNt".
Thank you so much, for days I've been looking for a list of world quests that are required for maxing out exploration 😭
Thank you! I really enjoyed your 100% teyvat journey. Love your channel
THANKS A BUNCH FOR THIS! i am planning to start exploring soon once I get more time! this really helped and made things more understandable!
this is a very great guide! all you said is what i have been doing ever since i started playing genshin! i have a exploration team for each region and i start with all quests w the interactive map if i ever come by anything and then continue after ive done them all! i only explored the dessert after all of the quest and it really wasnt that bad as most people said! i enjoyed it! but that could be because i started playing in late 3.7 and i got to sumeru at 4.0, when the underground maps got released and explored it all in a few days.
Best tip of all: Be good at puzzles.
Ehe 🤭
Alternatively, you can just follow youtube video for oculus and chest of each region, this way you can achieve 100% exploration as well. It is also time-efficient as they already choose the best route for you so you don't wander around the map yourself
honestly this video has made me want to get every single thing even for regions i already have 100% like liyue and mondstadt haha
Thanks for the guide and tips! I’ve been meaning to explore more and this is really helpful :)
My version when a region is unlocked:
1. Unlock all statue 7 and teleport waypoints
2. Do the world quests
3. Instead of using interactive which can be confusing sometimes, just use youtube videos
4. Search "how to get all oculus"
5. Search "100% chest hunt/exploration for this region etc"
Tip: second monitor is ur best friends here
1:34 sorry basically all the world quest, that are marked blue in the quest menu
bro I've been stuck at 97% in Watatsumi Island for a while now I don't wanna go back to that place anymore 💀
25 secs in and I already subbed, I know from the intro you have put in a lot of thought going into this. Will be sticking around your channel for a while mate!
WAIT YOOO U THE "ENTIRE MAP 100%" ONE PERSON RIGGHHTTTTTT
Will take like a year 🥰🥰🥰
I would not recommend open Shrines of depth first, because compass will always send you toward it, if it is closest chest nearby. but compass may miss some around this luxurious chest.
The real fun stuff starts at Sumeru, The layers of death.
Crazy to think that the layer map feature only got added at 4.0
Other game npcs: I lost my cart to a bunch of bandits, adventurer can you please help me retrieve it. Its down there by the swamp
Genshin Npcs: Hello Adventurer my name is *insert random name*. Im a travelling merchant from *insert region name* I came to *insert region name* to do stuff that is totally irrelevant for the rest of the story. I lost my cart to a bunch of bandits, the cart is an heirloom passed down to me by my father which was passed down to him by my grandfather which was passed down to him by his father who earned it after working very hard. Please retrieve it for me it is down there by the swamp.
"if you have a second monitor, put the map there" me as a phone player: yeah....
much better way imo is to explore while doing some quests better than just saving them before the actual exploration at least to save a little bit of time but kinda worth it for me
Thank you! This helps a lot as an explorer

bro i still remember how i used to yell "YOU DONT HAVE TO ZOOM OUT" when i saw ur vid😭😭😭
Finally, the Teyvat Travel Guide adaptation! I no longer have to read
this video took a log time to make but not as long as Aranyaka
loving the regular uploads sm‼️‼️
Thanks for the video, first and foremost.
Secondly, I already 100%ed every single region in my map, I am not sure why I'm here
Me: "Finally, 100% [insert region here]"
That one random common chest: "Hello there"
Some really great tips here! Thank you
Not me being 6 days in and having the Fujin questline complete cuz I was just exploring 😅 The amount of stuff I've done WAY out of order for the sake of exploring is honestly hilarious 😂
I've found so many chests and random stuff that i need to go back and catalog which is gonna be a pain in the butt, but rather do it now before i get further in 😅
For Inazuma world quest personally i would add "Sakura Arborism" cause it clear thunder sakuras on kannazuka
One more tip: look up videos about some very hard areas with a lot of levels. It's a lot easier to do with video and interactive map in this areas and not only map because it's hell( like dragons spine, chasm)😅
Unrelated but bro listents to Tame Impala and the trash taste podcast!! That's a W!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awesome guide, thank you!
The 100% discrepancy between both Battle Chronicles and the ingame map and the interactive map always has been a curious thing for me, I really would like to know why it does happen, but whatever the reason is, the safest way to know if you have the 100% is always the interactive map, at least if you're like me and are interested in getting the TRUE 100%.
I really wish the game was connected to the interactive map so everytime you got something the map checked it automatically, I would cry ;-;
kyosin tv the goat,he makes 100% ur map so easy
Your forgot to mention the importance of "Elemental Sight", since some are well-hidden on the map, like you can see it on the treasure compass, but you dont have any idea where is it, it can help you. 😉
Awesome content man 👍
Keep it up!!!.
idk why im watching this i already have everything 100, but good vid
the official teyvat interactive map can sort out everything that is not in your current area, aka everything that is not on the layer you currently on, which i believe genshin impact interactive map cannot do
As someone who's (visually) 100% the entire map without the treasure compasses, I just want to say they're really not that useful in a lot of the regions.
Me and the interactive map are married at the hip
Good content as always.keep going
Here after doing 3 regions 100% 💀. Need motivation to start Sumeru!!
Yeah, is there a way to do this while I already have every region between 60 to 100%?
Just meaning I dont wanna use a map showing me all chests, and I dont know which I already got or not. 😅

There is no step 2.
That's what I got out of this. (TBF, I'm a launch day player and have 100%'ed most regions already.)
