To be honest, yeon su's reason makes sense. That time, she don't want to share her burden to Ung because he is her safe haven. She can bear losing her friends, but not Ung. Until she reached her limit. She can't hide it anymore. She's losing herself. In yeon su's POV, she broke up with him to keep him away from her reality. She just loves him too much. This drama is genius.

Not everything needs to be transparent between them for sure but if something like breakup happens, which involves/affects both parties, then I believe it is only fair to lay out reasons for such actions. Keeping one party in dark is just bad and is disrespecting of all the time spent on the relationship. Now it is ideal case; break ups are not very pleasant and people are not in their best minds. But still the protagonist is at wrong here.
We have to admit that yeonsu's reality are somehow became part of our reality. Thought this is romcom never though I had too feel the pain of their breakup 😭🥺

Its normal to feel like this this is human and that's why I love this show.
Some people really like the cheesy romance kdramas and believe me i do too , to some extent ,but THIS is the type of relationship i want to have. Theyre flawed people and sometimes its infuriating cause all they need to do is talk, but thats what makes this feel so real to me, they have different ways of showing they care . And dont get me started on Yeonsu, i liked her since the beggining but knowing why she made certain decisions even not wanting to and having to endure it all by herself was heartbreaking to watch, and to know that he has nooo ideia that she suffered alot too is making me so sad ( it literally broke me to see her shed tears when he told her he was in pain, because she cares but they portrayed her as a cold nonchalant persom, but i get why they did it, it was to show his perspective of the break up). They love each other sooooo much and this is the only kdrama that made me really believe that they were truly inlove because they didnt make great gestures, it was the little things throughout years that made them fall inlove with each other.
I love this drama so much. It's too real. A lot of people can definitely relate to the Characters. And the Chemistry, I have been shipping this two since The Witch. This drama is a dream come true for me.

I actually think that both of them didn't knew how to handle the relationship. She was suffering and struggling and she was hiding herself from everyone. I understand why she broke up with him but this was the so called "noble idiocy" bc she thought they both would be better off without each other when in fact this ended up hurting both of them. And I don't agree on him being simple minded, he had set a goal of life for himself and he's been honest about it with her, but she didn't agree with his vision. They both loved each other so much and this could be seen through their actions. He always showed his love to her but he never said ILY to her like she wanted, but she never said it to him too -at least from what we've seen- her pride didn't allowed her to be the first one to say it. In the end, their lack of communication with words was what broke them up. I just hope they get to finally have a conversation and be true to their feelings!!
Brilliant genius scriptwriting, beautiful emotion..such a tiny motion is brought to life by their outstanding in potraying the characters...the best...every episodes is a jigsaw puzzles waiting to be laid out correctly..

I feel like if choi ung didnt have abandonment issues and yeonsu didnt have a harsh reality, they wouldnt have been together for so long. Only bc choi ung found something he wants in life and yeonsu found something that she helps her escape from reality, made them stay for so long even with all the pain and breakups.
Now that I'm caught up, I can appreciate this properly. Utterly in awe of how you wove their narratives together and the petals scene... absolutely died there. Love how you used it both to show why he loved Yeonsu (her showing him her hidden side) + how he felt like she kept yo-yo'ing and bringing him down like genius truly.
