What a time to be alive. All the new suburbs, and new electric housing. All new electric refrigerators, stoves, and ovens. Thos appliances were built for life. Some are still going. The refrigerators had shelves that actually pulled out, like drawers. The stoves had a back burner that could be pushed down, and had a pot that fit down into the space, which worked like a crock pot.

William Boyett played Sgt. McDonald on Adam-12. Over his lengthy career he probably played more cops than anyone in Hollywood, including two different officers on Highway Patrol (with Broderick Crawford). Not to mention a few traffic safety films as well. Always jarring to see him play a "bad guy", which he often did in westerns.

I love how much immediate manpower is used lol. Fingerprints, photographs of the jimmy marks! The first guy doesn't know exactly what was taken, except for $20 LOL! I love it!
Yeah, I thought the same thing. Can you imagine the city cops doing that now days? They would be there for 5 minutes and say that's to bad, give us a list of things that were taken but don't expect to see anything back again. Then they would prob throw away the list once they got out of sight of the house. I think to get a cop finger printer some place you would just about have to have a murder or a rape.
David Perez You we’re lucky. My sister and brothers and I had to sneak out of beds and watch through the railing of the stairs. Hardly ever saw what the jail sentence were. Just before they announced it, my parents were standing and tiding up. We had to seek away before they came into the hall. Good times.

Every time I see those highways packed with all those cars without seatbelts and non collapsing steering columns. I cringe at the thought of a pileup and the ensuing utter carnage, not to mention that they probably used grinders and hacksaws to cut people free from wreckage back then. Damn!
Joe Friday was willing to give credit where credit was due, so I have no doubt he would have let people know that Forest Simple helped catch the burglar/bird killer. That, in turn, would help him sell some houses.
I remember the renaming - not sure if I’m correct but I think this was for the reruns! (Before the name came up I even said to myself reading from badge - Badge 714!!!!).

A comment not really Dragnet related...imo, the idea of suburbs was an abomination. They destroyed so much open space and wildlife habitat. As a hunter and fisherman, I detest the idea that there "used to be" woods, fields, streams, et al. And to be proud to carelessly have multiple children, only to put more pressure on the environment is, imo, a crime. I hate to see survey markers on land. It only means total destruction. And also, the new people who move in, en masse, what to have things their way, not asking permission of those who lived there before. Sad situation indeed.
Love these old shows. Way before I was born, but they know how to tell a story and keep you interested.
You might like the dragnet radio show that preceded this tv show by a couple years, the first few seasons are peak Dragnet quality.
