This ride used to be so popular. Now it's the coaster you go to when the park is busy because every other ride is an hour wait. Hopefully the re-theming of "Flight Deck" to "The Bat" will change that!
It didn't help it much, still a low capacity ride nowadays I think mainly due to the fact the queue is so far off the main path for most people, I still make it a point to hit it when I'm there- even managed a few zen rides on it 👍🤘
This ride is now th at and before after cedar fair bought kings island they renamed it flight deck then the bat in 2014 when they were teasing when banshee came out
I very much miss the Paramount name being affiliated with the park; I remember getting my first season pass, back in 2007. I absolutely loved everything about the park, and it really did, in my eyes, seem magical. Still to this day-ten years later- I love and appreciate the park. I had the privilege of purchasing Top Gun 3D in BluRay, which made me feel like I should find a video. Thanks for sharing! It really does bring back memories
Connor Walsh I don’t think so. It was blocked off for years. From at least 2000 on. You could see down there, but the stairs and walkways were diverted

Permafrost they painted it and renamed it The Bat to honor a ride from the 80s and because when Paramount sold the park they couldn’t call it Top Gun anymore
Josh yes! This was my first "big" ride as a 4 year old. I remember waiting 2 hours for it when it first opened. It's still fun - about as fun as a Batman at Six Flags. Both rides are short and pack a punch
My favorite ride at King's Island back in the 90s. The Top Gun theme was really cool for this coaster. Now it's just not the same as The Bat.

Bfyobrian12 the bats color skeam sucks orange and grey it looks awful now I hope they rename it TOP GUN

This ride just isn't the same to me now that they changed the name. Even the experience in line has been changed.
Too bad they had to rename it to The Bat, me and my friends still sing Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins lol

Awesome! I was looking for a video of the ride with it's original paint job. Blue and red looked much better than gray and gray does now
