Illustrator does gradients kinda differently weird from Photoshop. If you want one color to fade to completely transparent, you have to set both color indicators in the gradient window to the same color, not just reduce the opacity to zero. You may not have noticed this.
Like in your tutorial, you wanted that gradient fade to go from brown (100% opacity) to nothing (0% Opacity). You set the color selector that was brown to 100% and the color selector that was white to 0%. What Illustrator does really goofy is that it fades the brown into the WHITE before it reduces the opacity all the way to completely transparent. If you want the brown to fade away from 100% opacity to completely transparent, you have to set BOTH color selectors as brown and then set one of the opacities as Zero.

If you double-click on the layer you get an option to make the layer as a template which automatically reduces the opacity to 60 or 50 and locks it

Hy Chirworld....look bra I'm excellent with the line work thanks to your lessons....problem its with skin blending especially the shadows...my brush during shading will contain strokes still... I mean a black stroke outline and then the chosen inner fill.... I tried most setting they didn't help
