I was stationed at Roosey from 84 to 86. Part of Weapons Dept. It was an amazing duty station. White sands. Crystal blue waters and just an amazing vibe to the island. Thanks for the memories.

I pretty much grew up there and it was so nice, unfortunately everything that is under the government of Puerto Rico goes to waste.

I remember reading years ago that Tesla was considering buying this former US Naval Base as a launch facility for the nascent SpaceX program. Now the EPA and PR Government are working to clean up all the Hazardous Waste left behind. This area has the potential to be a beautiful natural wildlife preserve with some modest developments to help offset costs, just like in Vieques. Let's hope they don't make it worse. It will probably take 50 years to clean up.

Thank you for the comment, much appreciated!!🙌 I'm almost certain that the last stop was on Langley Drive, right after the "Centro Residencial Oportunidades Educativas" but just before the "Centro Ecoturístico del Este"

Soy un local de Ceiba que desde 1965 cuando tenía 4 año vengo llendo a Rossy o Roosvelt Road con Titi que estaba casada con un official naval,de joven trabaje en RR en la marina de botes y tenía mi NWR Card para ir a Woody’s para los blanquitos y Rousy para los morenos y se evitaban las peleas raciales.Rossy era tada una ciudad con Taste Free ,Mariposa’s Chalet,Benniganluego Mc.Donald ,había un bowling se rentaban y vendían carros y habían como 10 mil personas.Del 1965,1970,80’ era una ciudad moderna en Ceiba un pueblito atrazado y lleno de bares de prostitucion 1 cine 1 restaurant San Antonio,7 gasolineras y hijos de gringos Cho retos que muchos de ellos estudiaron comigo.Los muchos gringos que mataron y le rompíeron cabeza muchos boricuas peleones de la epoca.Eso era Ceiba&Rossy en los 70’ mister.Saludos desde Ceiba.Gilbert.
