I spent from 1970-1973 in the Crash Crew at Rosy Roads! It was my first duty station in a 22 year Naval career! I only regret not going back one last time so our oldest son could see where he was born!
Thanks again Sammy. The helo reminded me of the one that used to take us to St. Thomas where inspected the recombined milk plant that supplied the base and fleet with milk until a plant was built on the base.
I worked for Ground Electronics 1977-78-79, in Air Ops, and two of us re-wired the intercom system for that building in 1979, in November I think, just before I left for the states on Dec 3rd.
Yes that was the crash station. I worked there and at a building next door to it in 2000. The helo crashed in the mangroves and one of the active duty sailors made it into a training prop for aircraft rescue
❤ I love all of your videos from Roosevelt Roads. They bring back so many memories of the years my family spent there. We lived at 16 Franklin and we had a gorgeous view of the ocean from our back yard. My father used to spend his spare time snorkeling and spear gun fishing for sharks.😂😂 Sammy will you please try to find my house at 16 Franklin?? I would love to see it again ❤❤❤.
HELLO SAMMY, I FOUND THE CHAPEL. I WENT TO GOOGLE EARTH AND ASK FOR THE COORDINATES OF ROOSEVELT ROADS CHAPEL AND THIS WHAT I GOT (18.2218° N, 65.6477° W). THESE COORDINATES TOOK ME TO WHERE IS THE CHAPEL. IT IS CLOSE TO THE OLD ROOSEVELT ROADS BOWLING ALLEY.
Thanks so much for the trip down memory lane. I was stationed there from '74 - '76.
Cool, thank you for watching.

Awesome and thank you for your service. It’s never too late to make it over even if it does not look the way it was. Thanks for watching.

Nice to know what they used it for!
The metal building was field support. For the flight line and the emergency arresting gear on the runways
Cool thanks for watching and the info.

Thank you for watching the videos. I noted the house number and soon I will have a video on houses the viewers have requested.
Do you know where the shore patrol office is??
I don’t recall the location, if you can point me in the right direction I can check it out.
I don't remember where it was. My husband was stationed there 1970/73. His duties were shore patrol
The name on the helicopter - Lt. Jessup? I went to school with Eric Jessup. I wonder if the lieutenant was Eric's father.
Intresting to say the least, yes that was the name on the Helo. Thanks for watching.
Excelente gracias Sammy interesante estaba pensando en el VC8 un airport , lógicamente el helicóptero decía el rango de alguien AmS 3
Si, ese caparazon esta en los predios de Crash Crew. Gracias por la sintonia.
