The « Soissonnais » Regiment was an Infantry Regiment from the Kingdom of France, created in 1684 and dissolved in 1762. Its name comes from the French City of Soisson (Picardy). The Regiment is well-known for its participation to the War of the League of Augsburg (1688-1697), to the War of the Spanish Succession (1701-1714) as well as to the War of the Austrian Succession (1740-1748).
The « Royal-Soissonnais » March would have been composed around 1750, then the soldiers added lyrics to this march.

Paroles / Lyrics:
Je veux au bout d'une campagne,
Te voir déjà joli garçon.
Des héros que l'on accompagne,
On saisit l'air, on prend le ton.
Des ennemis ainsi que des belles,
On est vainqueur, en s'imitant.
Et r'li et r'lan
On prend d'assaut les citadelles.
Relantanplan tambour battant
Brave garçon que l'honneur mène,
Prenez parti dans Orléans.
Not'colonel grand capitaine,
Est le patron des bons vivants.
Dame il fallait le voir en plaine,
Où le danger était l'plus grand.
Et r'li et r'lan
Lui seul en vaut une douzaine.
Relantanplan tambour battant
Relantanplan tambour battant
Vaillant et fier sans arrogance,
Et respecté des ennemis.
Brutal pour qui fait résistance,
Honnête à ceux qui sont soumis.
Servir le Roi, servir les dames,
Voilà l'esprit du régiment.
Et r'li et r'lan
Nos grenadiers sont bonnes lames.
Relantanplan tambour battant
Droit à l'honneur j'allons ensemble.
Relantanplan tambour battant

Perso ça me met en émoi.

I've tried to translate this, but it is quite tricky to translate exactly due to some archaic phrases and general nonsense (in modern French terms, anyway) so I have more tried to capture the general meaning of some of the lines as opposed to a direct translation, to make it easier to read in English (So don't take this as a word-for-word translation)
A couple of notes:
[Et r'li, et r'lan] - I can't think of anything to translate this, I believe it's just meaningless filler, I have omitted it from the rest of the translation
[Relantanplan tambour battant] - I have also omitted from the translation, this essentially translates to just "drums beating" but seems to be audible filler to break up the piece more than anything as it doesn't fit sensibly into the lyrics
At the end of a campaign I want to see you, pretty boy
The heroes that we accompany
We know the air, we take the tone of enemies as well as the beauties
We are victorious by imitating each other
We assault the citadelles
Brave boy who is led by honor
Take leave from Orleans
Our Colonel, great Captain
Is the patron of bon vivants [A somewhat uncommon saying in English, but a bon vivant is essentially good company]
Lady, you had to see it on the plain
Where the danger was greatest
He alone is worth a dozen men
Our officers in the battle
Are shoulder-to-shoulder with all of us
There are none that match them
And they are the first to the fight
A general, even a prince
The grenadiers form ranks
They cleanse the enemy
Valliant and fierce without arrogance
Respecting enemies
Brutal to those who resist
Honorable to those who submit
Serve the King, Serve the ladies
That is the spirit of the regiment
Our grenadiers are good lads
Come take quickly the cockade
Of the regiment where you will be
With respect I want you to be looked at
The prince and the leader, we are in his arms
In courage we are alike
We have the same heart and mind
We go together for honor and justice
It may not be entirely perfect as this is a very hard piece to translate, if anyone has any suggestions to make then feel free

Can someone give me the English translation of the lyrics? Im from Poland and im interresed in history of the Kingdom of France. I like the Royal French military songs but i dont know the language.
Here is the english translation. I hope that you’ll enjoy it !
I tried to make it comprehensible even if some words are ancient french and can’t easily be translated. Some words don’t have any sense, they are just there for the tempo (r’li - r’lan - relantanplan). I let some comments between parenthesis.
A military March is meant to rythm long walks made by the soldiers between different battle fields. This one is a bit particular because the singer point-of-view is the one of a simple soldier who explains how the Regiment works to his son or a young boy that he’d like to be recruited. That’s why you should understand this March as both a recruiting song, a propaganda tool and as a traditional rythmic military March.
And just as a fun fact : This March was written in the mid-18th century, when the King of France (Louis XV) was married to a polish Princess (Marie Leszczynska) … Europe is so small 😉
March of the Royal-Soissonais Regiment
I
I want at the end of a (military) campaign
To see you pretty boy.
From heroes that we accompany
We catch the look, we get the tone.
Against enemies, and for the Ladies
We are winners by imitating each other (imitating should be understood as : improving)
And rli and rlan (doesn’t mean anything)
We attacks the citadels
Relantanplan (doesn’t mean anything) beating drum
II
Oh young people that honor leads,
Take part in Orleans.
Our colonel, grand cap’tain
Is the leader of bon vivant (french word, similar in english).
Lady you had to see him in plains
Where the danger was the greatest.
And rli and rlan (doesn’t mean anything)
He -alone- is worth a dozen
Relantanplan (doesn’t mean anything) beating drum
III
Our officers during the battle
Are pell-mell with us all (here it means : evenly distributed among us).
There's no one worth us (here it means : officers are not privileged)
And the first ones are in front line.
A General, even being a Prince
The Grenadiers would form a rank (here some words are lacking :… a rank for him).
And rli and rlan (doesn’t mean anything)
Rush to the enemy and crush it
Relantanplan (doesn’t mean anything) beating drum
IV
Courageous and proud, without arrogance
And respect your enemies
Brutal for those who make resistance
Honnest with the submitted ones.
Serve the King, serve the Ladies
Here's the spirit of the Regiment.
And rli and rlan (doesn’t mean anything)
Our Grenadiers have great blades
And always walk with beating drum.
V
Come quick to take the cockade
Of the Regiment when you’ll be (here some words are lacking : ... you'll be old enough to join us).
With respect, I want you to be seen.
The Prince is the chief and we are the arms.
By courage, we look the same.
We have same hearts and feelings.
And rli and rlan (doesn’t mean anything)
Straight to honor, we head together.
Relantanplan (doesn’t mean anything) beating drum

@@dominikpatrioticchannel9050 Well, that's a pleasure for me to share a part of our history …
To be honest, we don’t learn much of your past in school in France. We learn that you’ve been a disputed people & territory between Russia and Prussia troughout History. They both wanted to expand their territories, especially because your soil was reputed as fertile (or just to confirm their power …).
We also know that during the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (that we know as République des Deux-Nations) you’ve been an important hub between Occidental Europe, Scandinavian countries, Austrian & Russian & Ottoman Empires.
I guess that since Poland entered the EU, the relations between our 2 countries have way more strength than in the past. I still can think of 3 periods in History that the French & Polish people shared :
1/ in the mid-18th century : when Stanisław (who we know as Stanislas) came to France with his daughter (Marie, who got married to Louis XV) to become Duke of Lorraine
2/ during Napoleon reign, especially when he declared war to the Russian Empire (but I don’t think that it was a pleasant period for Poland at that time … being in the middle of 2 fighting Empires)
3/ during WW2 : when the Polish official government escaped to the UK via France
My great-grand-mother (who arrived in France in the late 1920’s) was from a village between Tarnów and Kraków in the Southern part of Poland… But I don’t speak a word of your language !
@@Tom-ih8vv Amazing. You have some Polish roots. In our schools we learn about some small chapter in the history of Royal France. Then about revolution and Napoleon. But my favourite part of French history is the Royal one. Polish Lithuanian Commonweath was a regional power through 1570-1650 years. We fought with Swedes, Russians and the Ottomans, beating their armies many times. I have read about campaigns of Louis XIV against the Netherlands and the Britain. The war of Devolution(1667-1668) the Franco Dutch war (1672-1678) and the nine years war. (1688-1697) Time when France was powerful.

Beautiful song, would like to know the translation
Hey friend, it's not possible, the language it"s very old. just french understand . and sorry for my english ^^
It is possible, someone did it already :
March of the Royal-Soissonais Regiment
I
I want at the end of a (military) campaign
To see you pretty boy.
From heroes that we accompany
We catch the look, we get the tone.
Against enemies, and for the Ladies
We are winners by imitating each other (imitating should be understood as : improving)
And rli and rlan (doesn’t mean anything)
We attacks the citadels
Relantanplan (doesn’t mean anything) beating drum
II
Oh young people that honor leads,
Take part in Orleans.
Our colonel, grand cap’tain
Is the leader of bon vivant (french word, similar in english).
Lady you had to see him in plains
Where the danger was the greatest.
And rli and rlan (doesn’t mean anything)
He alone is worth a dozen
Relantanplan (doesn’t mean anything) beating drum
III
Our officers during the battle
Are pell-mell with us all (here it means : evenly distributed among us).
There's no one worth us (here it means : officers are not privileged)
And the first ones are in front line.
A General, even being a Prince
The Grenadiers would form a rank (here some words are lacking :… a rank for him).
And rli and rlan (doesn’t mean anything)
Rush to the enemy and crush it
Relantanplan (doesn’t mean anything) beating drum
IV
Courageous and proud, without arrogance
And respect your enemies
Brutal for those who make resistance
Honnest with the submitted ones.
Serve the King, serve the Ladies
Here's the spirit of the Regiment.
And rli and rlan (doesn’t mean anything)
Our Grenadiers have great blades
And always walk with beating drum.
V
Come quick to take the cockade
Of the Regiment when you’ll be (here some words are lacking : ... you'll be old enough to join us).
With respect, I want you to be seen.
The Prince is the chief and we are the arms.
By courage, we look the same.
We have same hearts and feelings.
And rli and rlan (doesn’t mean anything)
Straight to honor, we head together.
Relantanplan (doesn’t mean anything) beating drum
Gyönyörű.

thanks mate
What is this chant about can someone explain
It's about the Royal Soissonais
It's the song of the regiment of the royal Soissonnais. It speaks about their spirit of rightgeousness, about their strenght and about the Idea of Brotherhood and of equality between the soldiers and the officers of the regiment.
Wie bin ich denn jetzt hier her gekommen?
Keine Ahnung aber tolles lied
@@Aetherguy-cb9bu Auf jeden Fall
HELLO FANNIE ASKIM
On saisit l'air, on prend le ton
Des ennemis ainsi que des belles
On est vainqueur, et s'imitant
Et r'li et r'lan
On prend d'assaut les citadelles
Relantanplan tambour battant
II
Oh jeunes gens que l'honneur mène
Prenez parti dans Orléans
Not'colonel grand capitaine
Droit à l'honneur j'allons ensemble
Relantanplan tambour battant
