Virtues are lots of work for little return. They are for completionists that think you have to have the max of everything. The rewards for completing deeds now are the same. there was a time when doing some deeds gave you a skill point, but those are gone now, also. There is just so little reward for a great deal of grind. That's what they need to fix.
@@USMC6976 Virtues are critical for player stats. You get real squishy without them. As long as you do exploration deeds, which you’d pretty much get done doing main story quests then you’ve got majority of your virtues capped just from that and the usual leveling & rep stuff.
You said it: LotRO needs SYSTEMIC fixes. Hell the revamped Legendary Item system still doesn't have a finished UX years later! But with a skeleton crew all they can afford to do is squirt out more of the same content in new areas. They can't afford to revamp what needs it (I hope I'm wrong!). Huge respect to the devs who keep the amazing additions to the world and story going, with what is probably next to no support from the company.
SSG is run by the developers actually. They bought it from Turbine and formed SSG. While an investment firm now holds the pink slip, the developers themselves still run the company.
@@taylemgames2652 SSG is the devs, and they probably do have autonomy to what they work on, but they do NOT hold the purse strings. Daybreak still exists, and in fact Daybreak's CEO got put in charge of EG7! Older regions don’t need new zones, there are already multiple multiple places for you to go or completely avoid, especially in the lower levels. Just would be a complete waste of time compared to the QoL improvements that could be made or bugs fixed/stats still are not exactly balanced, there is a whole loot table for a bunch of old instances they’ve essentially just GAVE UP on for years, all the gear from scalable instances either doesn’t scale, or drops such low item level it’s fucking pointless for an endgame player to do any old content. Thus, a lot never even go back to re-experience it or just buy a lvl skip for whatever new class they wanna use. There are literally so many issues and potential being wasted it is utterly insane how any of them go to sleep at night.
Some big issues is they wasted their time making Brawler and Mariner, the game did NOT need new classes, it needed to be fixed on many fronts. Not only did they waste time doing that, they had to waste MORE time changing Captain/LM/Burg to MAKE ROOM for Mariner, giving it much of the same abilities as far as their role goes. Every bit of that could have been spent fixing bugs ingame, or fleshing out new content let alone making new content (Although there is PLENTY to be fixed ingame already). But no, they hyped new classes much like they did with Beorning which we also did not need(although it’s a great class, entirely too strong though) WHY? So they could sell those classes. Never forget: Everything they do is about making the most amount of money possible with the least amount of effort. Not the player experience.
LOTRO has suffered through numerous development teams at this point, and they all seem to have the same idea which is to say they just keep releasing NEW content without actually fixing the stuff plaguing the current game. Its been far too long that there has been a UI update teased, they drove up hype when they promoted a graphical overhaul, Rings of Power was announced an there as this feeling that it would be a huge moment for the game ( it wasn't ) SSG needs to take a very serious look at the current state of the game, listen to its player base and dedicate their time to making the game as current and playable as possible. Level caps at this point are getting out of hand and kind of meaningless now. There are too many servers spreading their player base way too thin for an enjoyable lively world. The Lord of the Rings franchise is arguably one of the greatest of all time both in film and in writing - This game should be WAY more popular than it is and not a forgotten gem that attracts only a niche crowd it only for a temporary moment in time.
They haven’t committed a lot with the Umbar crafting system? All they did was release a new tier of guilded crafting for 150. The only real benefit is the new consumables from guild crafting, the armor from it is TERRIBLE and you will replace it swiftly. There was only so much hype around that so that people would pay for the new Craft Guild Reputation store items they made specifically for this, which were quite expensive. You also are now able to buy access to umbar guild crafting in the store. See? It’s all about making the most amount of money possible with the least amount of work and almost 0 consideratjon to the player. What’s really crazy, is this game was almost flawless at 65/75 with bugs of course things of that nature but the community was FAR FAR happier.
Idk bro I played pretty hard for a month and only got to level 38 I’ll admit I’m not a pro gamer or anything and went in blind, but I clocked 100+ hours. It just got to the point where I felt it was to much to ever reach level cap so I gave up
Yeah unfortunately that’s a common feeling. There’s loads of tricks you can do to speed it up, but honestly you skip so much of the game doing it. Not worth. Just gotta commit to the grind if you can. I’m hoping they do a level squish at some point.
@@aubreytheweirdone it does take a while but it’s quicker than most think if you’re focused on it, but yeah I totally agree 150 levels is extremely daunting
@ Yeah I kinda agree. You kinda really need to learn to focus on gaining levels in order to get to 150 and it doesn’t take nearly as long. But I get distracted by deeds and other side quests lol
i think that's the only way they can make money on a larger scale is expansions. Nah, maybe at 1000 we get the level squish... hahah jk
