      The steam created when the hydrogen explodes will be hot enough to stay gaseous (it will be way hotter than the boiling temperature of water) until it leaves the pipes. Remember steam trains? They worked fine in freezing temperatures, even in places like Alaska and Siberia. And that was just high pressure steam, created by boiling water, coming to and out of the pistons.

    • @MikeCopeland-u3c
      @MikeCopeland-u3c Месяц назад +1

      Hydrogen has no issues burning in the cold. As a matter of fact, unlike gasoline, fuel enrichment is not required for cold start. There is a lot less water in the exhaust than people assume. Once the exhaust system warms up, you cannot see any water from the exhaust.

    I think that this build is awesome, and proceeds from the auction are for an even better purpose, scholarships.
    I support hydrogen as a fuel source. My only is the process is still very costly and not very environmentally friendly.
    Still I am all in on this build.

    • @MikeCopeland-u3c
      @MikeCopeland-u3c Месяц назад +1

      There are many new processes being developed to make hydrogen. The cost is expected to reduce around 80%.

    • @bobbolieu9013
      @bobbolieu9013 Месяц назад

      @MikeCopeland-u3c The cost expected to reduce by 80%
      Or
      Is the production process being improved 80%?
      Either way those are big gains.
      The 80% price reduction for processing is still very expensive.
      The auto and oil industries need to relax their strangle hold on developing highly efficient engines. There will still be a need for petroleum products and services.
      It like taxes and burial, that is an ongoing matter that will continue as long as humans walk the Earth

That's special enough... but then to burn that hydrogen in a Hemi?!? THAT is top notch! Or will it require a super-heavy duty tank of some sort for compressed hydrogen? IDK - even THAT would be pretty cool. Beautiful car! I'm going to enjoy seeing this thing come together.

    Hydrogen is neat conceptually, but it is still in its infancy in cars. Fuel is a struggle when we looked at it here in. Northern California, and the price for fuel keeps going up, making it questionable option currently. Just remember it is very flammable. It you have questions just go watch the Hindenburg when it went up. I guess it might be similar to setting up a vehicle to run propane but a bit more dangerous. Just be careful please.

    Hydrogen as a fuel is significantly more expensive than gasoline. But the amount of energy that is produced may offset that cost by increasing the fuel economy. There will also be minuscule amounts of nitrogen oxides emitted in the exhaust. This is as a result of high combustion temperatures.

    I’ve been waiting for an alternative to fossil fuel and electric vehicles don’t do it properly. I tried to get a position at Ballard Power Systems, when I was younger, because I thought it was the best option to get us off gas and diesel fuel and still drive conventional vehicles that had potential for long distance travel, not like the electric battery powered vehicles we’ve been offered. Now retired and a fan of the 1957 Chevy, being the year of my birth, I wish I was in the position to make an offer to be the one to purchase the vehicle you are currently working on and then worry about where the Hydrogen fuel would come from and truly live a non-polluting retirement. seena bunch of videos on this car at sema the works yet to see it run tho?
    what kind of efficiency does it have range so forth? can you take it to the drags and make runs or? and of course there are many hydrogen vehicles out there, the Lexus RC F luxury sport coupe produces 450hp on a modified yamaha v8 engine.. at this point with all the engineering that's been put into the hydrogen powered internal combustion engines there must be a huge drawback they have yet to hurdle as noone is even close to wanting to mass produce them.,.. bet guess? range or hydrogen output, they cannot produce enough fuel to run the thing down a freeway for 350 miles, best guess is not even close cuz if it was more than electric then that would be worth mass producing .. many have had privately owned hydrogen cars for over a decade so? heard one run but no range or output was talked about? I wanna see it make a full run, 1/4 mile balls out!

    • @toolma66
      @toolma66 2 месяца назад

      Hydrogen is expensive right now, but the cost of producing it with renewable energy will become significantly lower over the next decade, estimated to be as low as $1.50 per kilogram (the same amount of energy as a gallon of gasoline) by 2040. Having a hydrogen powered car right now might not be economically viable, but in the future? Instead of going electric? I’d rather have the sound of a Hemi under the hood than the whine of a sowing machine …
