The big ones don't bite that regular as the smaller ones...no laws here...what we catch we keep

What we catch here in Barbados cannot make a dent in the Permit population...we have laws that protect some species of fish here, but permit is not one...we are a small island with a few guys that fish on the rocks and not all of them fish for pemit...sometimes you may catch a big one (20lbs and up) but that hardly happen...the bigger ones don't usually bite or sometimes stay out of reach in deeper water...they are no restrictions on permit in any of the caribbean islands that I know of...our divers see thousands of them off in deeper waters all around the island some as big as 40lbs & over and most divers don't shoot permits...so we are not doing any harm to the population.
