    All the doctors will leave this country for better opportunities overseas where they can get proper pay for their services. All hospitals will degrade to the same standards as the worst state hospitals that you know - every province in South Africa has one hospital that is in terrible condition. The smell of urine outside of the hospital is your sign that the area is not well looked after.

    Dream on, the NHI will not happen and if it happens to roll out in one form or another will result in the drastic lowering of medical standards. Khaya Sodidi is totally misguided about pricing of medical services. You get what you pay for and if the government interferes in pricing the result will be that our best and brightest medical practitioners will leave.
    The government cannot even run the current state run hospitals WHY will the NHI be different. Discovery battles with the best systems and staff to manage 8 million members. WHAT makes the state believe that they with their track record will be able to manage 60 million people. I say again... dream on.

    This is disappointing. Our Government is failing dismally to provide healthcare within the current government healthcare system. Now they attempting to take on private healthcare sytem.The reasoning for this Bill may be may be for the benefit of the greater South Africa but realistically we are failing our people with the current system. Basic scans like Mammogram, CT Scan machines are poorly maintained making NG the back log for diagnosing patients which are finally diagnosed end stage when it could've been done earlier if the machinery is maintained and serviced timeously. ARV roll out is donated medication from private funding from international NGO companies, thus, medication is readily available. Our people are dying waiting to get a confirmed diagnosis of Cancer within the Government health system. We don't have enough medical healthcare personnel in the healthcare system, now more staff will leave the country. This is really sad. I want to return home but I can't because our country is getting worse.

    we've been told by numerous people and institutions that South Africa has a lot of money that can take this country out of poverty and misery. however, we have been stubborn as citizens to take those remarks seriously. The imbalances and poverty we experience in Saota are man-made and few elites are enjoying them. therefore, the implementation of this policy is a living testimony of the arrogance our current government has toward eradicating inequalities in Saota.

      You still don't understand? It's called rand manipulation and a deliberate devaluing of the rand! That's not really the point though, it's that 85% of the masses including the SADC ngunis who demand socialism from the minority where the don't pay taxes,have free land and already recieve 80% of every rand earned by the minority! It's not only this governments communist parties it's the adherents you demand it! It they wanted change they would vote OHM for systemic changes, they don't want it!

    I remember Eskom telling ANC in the 90s they would max it's capacity within a few years. Electrifying as many households as possible was an admirable goal. However what did ANC do to prevent maxing the capacity? Instead substandard power stations were built. What happened to that money. Today there is loadshedding and the cost of electricity that keeps going up. How will NHI be different? They have shown us who they are. Billions will disappear like we've seen with Eskom.

    No one even has money left to save for retirement but we have to pay extra taxes for NHI. Why is the solution to a broken and mismanaged system to take over the management of a well run system?

    • @wesleynative
      @wesleynative 17 дней назад

      NHI will be cheaper than medical aid for the middle class and below, it will be recovered by increasing taxes, if you know basic mathematics and percentages....people who do not earn as much will pay less for NHI whereas people who are high earners will pay more towards NHI...

    We are a country of 57 million people. 32.9% of employable people are unemployed. Besides the R3.3 billion a month to covid 19 recipients, we also support the many welfare benefits. There are 7.14 million taxpayers in South Africa. No wonder industries are being liquidated. People are leaving our country and we have to pay more tax. What a failed government, corrupt leaders, and a shameful and disgraceful leader. So, based on the facts above, explain to me how this will be funded?

    This will not improve the services of the medical practioners in the public sector..leave the private sector alone..as its the only place people are serious about doing their jobs.

    • @wesleynative
      @wesleynative 17 дней назад

      I disagree, the private sector is horrible. They over quote on everything. My son broke his arm and I got quoted R150 000 because they wanted to put him under general anesthesia and admit him for 3 days and they wanted to operate on his arm and all this crap when all he needed was a doctor to massage his bone back into place, he felt no pain at all and then a cast put on....which was free at a public hospital.
      We literally begged the private hospital to just move the bone straight with local anesthesia and put a cast on which BTW is a common procedure documented here but they refused.....
      www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4557923/
      The private healthcare system is a joke!!!! I would not trust them with my life because they do not want to help people, they just want to squeeze as much money out of everyone as they can.
