    Hi Cameron,
    Steve Morris updated his Wagon with these e-gates and had great results controlling turbo surge, but his subscribers pointed out a major flaw in his original configuration. If the valves somehow failed in the open position the motor would continue to make power with his foot off the gas pedal. After reconfiguring with waste gates included, letting off the gas would safely cut off air to the motor even if these valves failed in the open position.
    Alan,

      He is dying, he is in his 50’s. I never met a man so fiercely in love with his wife. He will never retire to reap his work in love with his wife. He has three sons and unrealised grandchildren on the way.
      While he is stoic as always, I know his wife gave him permission to go to war, I was there. I also know she never gave him permission to die from work, I was there. It killed him from going to war with work.

    I was curious why he wasn't going with e gates, although I can understand using traditional gates with such a quick deadline and more than likely not a ton of time to test and tune before competitions.
    The new gates are super sick though!

      with drag cars of this power level and turbo size you typically want the turbo at full speed the whole run and use the gate on the intercooler pipping to control the boost. doing it that way drastically reduces turbo lag and transient response, something you cant do controlling boost from the exhaust.

    • @fabini14
      @fabini14 2 месяца назад

      @@kyleridout6794 This is just to spool fast the turbos, they still use the exhaust to control boost, this is just for lauch, keeps the turbo high speed on 2 step, and when you close the E-Gate it will be at full speed and than exhaust can regulate the boost, 0 lag and have good 60 foot that is always the issue with turbo cars, 60 foot, if you can make it lauch good turbos will be always the better option.

      @@precisiondiesel225 Yes there is need for wategates… dont talk about you dont know, have been tested that is not good to run just in e gates on cold side, you get too much heat on IAT.

    The look on your face when the respirator hit the hood, I too thought that was uncalled for. Disrespect at its finest!! Love what you guys do. You're changing the way people see cars being built. I watched a video a few days ago of a guy's car that he had built. It was junk compared to this thing. I'm sure most of the people who watch these videos watch the same one I did.

Insane amount of detailed work on these cars, wondering what the bill will be.... thanks guys for the videos as someone who makes stuff this is inspirational. And a great skilled team there.

    I've never powder coated anything as large as a chassis, but I can't imagine it's going to take anymore than 5lbs. That stuff is almost like talcum powder and it goes a long way. My official guess is 3.33lbs🤷‍♂️🇺🇸
