I bought the Western version of the Hori tatacon that will be released this Friday (but I already received it). I am posting this because I would have liked to know this before I bought it. If anyone has more questions feel free to ask! I’m from the Netherlands and the tatacon bundle is already sold out in the pre-orders here but you might be able to snatch one if you live somewhere else. The input of the tatacon is very good, I did not have to adjust the settings or anything. No need to mod this version at all. You don’t need to hit it to hard the edges are very sensitive. You do need to give a decent tap on the surface but that’s how I’m used to it in arcades so I think it’s nice to have that same feeling at home. The tatacon is not perfect though; the usb cable is a bit too short for most couch-tv ratios. I will try if it works with an usb extension cable tomorrow. Also the tatacon is not very heavy, even with the pet bottles inserted to increase the weight. In songs on easy its fine but on hard the drum moves and you need to push it right during gameplay which is a bit annoying. Might try to tape it down haha. The game itself is really really fun if you like Japanese music. Lots of songs to choose from with different difficulties, characters with skills that change gameplay a bit and lots of partygames. Menu suggests a DLC will come soon. I don’t regret getting this bundle.
I received mine yesterday and was kinda disappionted. The game itself seems great but the controller feels very unresponsive or do you really have to "hit " it "that hard" because that would make some decent noise and that is what I'd like to prevent. Do you know if theres any option to increase sensitivity or something like that?
I pray to god that the localized version won't change the song list like the last Taiko game. But, "We are" for Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session has been confirmed so it's probably not gonna change! Nice review by the way! Loved how in depth and informative it was, keep it up!
I want it too but because of the control scheme being impossible to replicate it's just not the same. Theatrhythm felt good because of the stylus and using the touch screen. I don't think we'll ever get that experience ever again.
I think the japanese version of the game is simply called Taiko no Tatsujin: Nintendo Switch Version. Drum n Fun is the subtitle for the european localization that is coming later this year
Shafiee Khaidzir You are correct. Titled the review with the English name because the review is in English and targeted at my English audience. Same game in the end.
As a Touhou song fan, i'm kinda sad that they just cut half of the song for PS4 and the other half for Switch... Maybe we will get it in future DLC but i really doubt that will happen anytime soon...
@@Luisgvn Always, its a great game! I love the anime songs and the game songs the best. Also could you maybe review the 'Hatsune Miku Mega mix volume'?
I mostly cover new games but if there’s anything you ever want to see covered, feel free to let me know in the comments or over on the discord. Usually with 2-3 weeks ahead of the release date, I can add it to my schedule :)
Sounds good, thanks again for the review. Also I can't chat in discord because you need to verify with a phone number and I don't have one, so thats a problem
Sure thing and yeah that’s something we have set up so we don’t get spam or random people trying to make multiple accounts. You can always use a free phone number app on a computer or inactivated phone as well. Sorry for that little hurdle 😅
You could just get a fake controller For example I own a PS4 I can buy the game for $10 (currently on sale instead of $50) And buy a fake drum on eBay for around $40 So basically for the original price of the game I can get the game digital and have a drum controller Just depends
for an individual hit will the points increase from how on time it was? im a guitar teacher looking for something to recommend to my students to help them practicing timing,
Are you really sure ? In france at least, physical edition bundle (drum + game) exist for 100 euros. Only the US version will not have the physical game. (And since switch is region-free, you can import it if you really want to play with drums).
Don’t wait til the very last day... You have to buy this game day before sale ends. Sale ends 2/25 11:59pm, but it will end 2/24 11:59pm. I don’t know why they do this, but I missed last sale because I waited until last day. Don’t miss out like me. XD
Yeah i gotta pick up a few ecards tomorrow\m/ after i cash this check\m/ i might get VOEZ also and Mortal Kombat full DLC pack before sale goes out\m/ thanx for reminding m.e.
There's also A TON of customizable elements (most of them are from the current Arcade games however), 4-player multiplayer mode, and a online mode, which allows you to play against another player (even if he/she don't have the game), along with a ranking system.

They released the song list after I posted this review actually! It's going to be the same list as the Japanese version :)
Luis Alamilla OH MY GOD YES NOW I HAVE AN EXCUSE TO BUY DRUM & FUN DAY ONE
I really want to get a Theatrhythm Final fantasy for the switch. I loved the first two on the 3ds

I really want this game, but I can’t see myself enjoying it without the drum peripheral, so I’ll have to save up for it.
I like the game without it but for sure would be a better game with it. Makes me miss the arcades in Japan ;-;

I wanted to buy the european version but bandai namco said that it wont come out physical neither is the taiko drum

seems very interesting and fun!
no wonder it's called drum 'n' *fun*

just saw this on sale on the eshop for $9.99. thinking of picking this up
Well worth it!
I bought it instantly when I saw it on sale I love every second of it
Aw so glad you’re enjoying it
Nice in depth review :)
Zaldi Pascua Thanks bud!
Luis Alamilla i want to make a review also of the drums i bought two for the multiplayer experience.
15 dollars on the us eshop for now
$10 on PS Store right now
Quick question idk if I missed it in the video but could u press buttons instead of holding the motion controls and swinging ur hands
Yes you can
@@Luisgvn can u use a pro controller
@@ringrinow5332 Yes
Can you play the game just on the switch handheld? Or do you have to use the drum or unattach the switch controls?
You can use the buttons or the touch screen.
Seems echt gut to me the game 😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
This is cool, but when can we get a sequel to Donkey Kong Jungle Beat?
Codo8 this is jungle beat 2!
Hi i have a question…can we play this game 2 players using only joycon switch?
yup
What is the song at 5:50? It alone made me buy the game
zenzenzense by radwimps
I just got this game it's so much fun but dang some of the songs are hard
aside from the songs that come in the game, can we add in our own song in anyway or maybe any additional downloadable songs to buy?
Not your own songs but there is dlc
I thought in the beginning of the video you were playing the your name song? Are you?
Yup! It's in the actual game too! :3
I have some several questions:
1)Can i download songs? if i can , do i need to have nintendo online?
2)Can i buy the drum set for my switch lite?
1. Yes and no
2. I believe so since it technically acts as just another controller
when a long orange colour come up.. which one i should knock?
you can press red of blue
Spam red
Do you know if you can you use 2 drums in 2 player mode on one switch?
I believe so since the drums are just a single Switch controller.
I could only get the digital version in my area which is a bummer cuz I like the physical copies and I hate the blue notes
Import maybe? I imported my copy before it came to the states
Does the game has songs inside or we buy with dlc ?
Both :)
When is this coming here? Will the drum controller acc will be available?
It'll be coming to North America in November but don't think the controller is being brought over.
Controller in europe though ;)
Mark Stapleton Aw dang
How much does it cost in Japan?
Catracho-Plays around 6500 yen (without the drum controller)
Mark Stapleton thanks 👍🏽
Catracho-Plays I bought it at book off for about 5,800 yen
$14.99 on Nintendo eshop for awhile\m/ i have a switch lite & extra joycons \m/ so i might buy this before the sale goes away\m/ thanx for review
Hell yeah! Love getting more people into Taiko :)

Thanks for watching!

Just come over and play, you're family
Thanks cousin, too bad i´m in Mexico
Can u use a pro controller
Yup
I feel like I would need the Taiko Force Lvl5...
I wish I had one
Does it allow you to play any song from the internet?
Nope
Just imagine getting the drum bundle but it's pirated and then 1stpai plays
Whoa did that happen to you? :O
No but it is a possibility
Interesting but I won’t get it if it doesn’t have **DESPACITO 2**
It only has Despacito 3
Damn japan is ahead of us damn Americans
This will be discontinued on the Nintendo shop soon!
The PS4 and Switch versions are different.
Different songs since the Switch version uses "Nintendo" tunes / motion controls
