Lou Gold was a band leader, pianist and composer best known for his recordings from the mid 1920s to the early 1930s. He did extensive recordings as a recording contractor for several recording companies, based in New York. Super excellent with very good interesting photos
feel like I grew up in the wrong time period. I absolutely love this!!!
This song is such an old classic. And the pictures you selected are so appropriate for the twenties. I enjoyed this!
Clássico dos clássicos
I love the way that those old Harmony records sound. The bass reproduction was always so powerful on those guys, the tuba and bass sax always sound fantastic; definitely some of the best sounding acoustically recorded disks, imo. I always pick up a Harmony record if I see one at an antique mall :)
So much fun to listen to. In 70's and for some reason need to hear this sound. What a band.
@bsgs98 Thx a lot. I am a huge fan of this era and also the 30's and 40's.
I have this record and I love it!
My granny played piano for the silent movies. One night when she and granddaddy were dating he was talking to her while she played and distracted her. She was belting out this song and looked up to find looks of shock on the audience's faces because they were hanging a man on the movie screen!🤣
Your grandparents seemed really fun, if this little anecdote you shared is indeed true. Must be wonderful to chat with contemporary people of the time!
I love this song and also have the 10' 78 record too! Am only 33! ;)
Maravilhosos tempos!
Awesome song ! Thanks !
The music was so much cleaner then that crap rap you today!! I'm 33 also
Lou and the boys are pretty much playing the stock arrangement on this record.
John Agree and today,to cheer him up, Melania sings it to Ole McDonald, and sings it, in Slovenian, as "Crazyface".
Great posting...
Baby face
You've got the cutest little baby face
There ain't nobody can ever take your place
baby face
My poor hearts jumping
You started something
Baby face
Well I'm in heaven when I'm in
Your, your fond embrace
Yeah I never need no shove
Cause I just fell I fell in love with your
Pretty pretty baby face
@novusmundi Pretty stunning! It's hard to grasp just how beautiful the women of the 20s really were! In the old films, they put too much makeup on them, and overdone lipstick, it was hard to really see, they all looked the same. But these photos do them a bit more justice! :)

Sadly, I only recognize four of the women in the photos: 0:31 Barbara Stanwyck, 0:55 Clara Bow, 2:06 Clara Bow, 2:37 Janet Gaynor. There are a few others that look like studio portraits, but I don't recognize the actors. One is a French postcard. The rest appear to be standard cheesecake shots. Does anyone else recognize more?
Who were the women in this video? I recognized Barbara Stanwyck a few times. But she was the only one I knew. One other may have been Lillian Gish but I am not sure.
