  • This is by far the most awesome non-tool I've added to my shop. I've actually wanted to add some tunes to the shop for a while but nothing ever sounded good. Until now! I purchased this TOPROCK with my own money. Amazon and other affiliate links are used in this description to help support this channel.

THIS VIDEO WAS NOT SPONSORED IN ANY WAY! After several comments and emails saying it was sponsored, let me be perfectly CLEAR. This video was in NO WAY sponsored by anyone, including FESTOOL. The ONLY person who paid for the radio (and the two to give away) was me. I paid for all three out of my own pocket. I genuinely like this product and was actually very excited to make the video. However, now after so many comments and emails about it being sponsored, I really wish I had not made the video or hosted a giveaway for these. Some people are so jaded, that they can't fathom the idea that someone can actually like a product without being sponsored. Most of my videos are not sponsored. Some are and will continue to be. The ones that are sponsored are CLEARLY STATED verbally and with a paid promotion pop-up on the video.

What most people do not realize is festool hardly if ever sponsors a channel of any kind with a few exceptions from what I understand. While 731 has a good number of subscribers and views it is not currently at a subscriber or view count that would make festool want to sponsor it. No offense Mr Outlaw, just been my experience they go after much larger fish when they even do. Let’s also face it that festool at this point does not need to sponsor anybody and they just let their product speak for itself.

I, like probably many of your followers probably can’t afford Festool anything, or Woodpecker anything for that matter.. Wish I could afford some of these things, but there are several other things that are more important to me so, I remain a simple woodworker that enjoys the hobby with more affordable tools. Thanks for sharing though.

not being weatherproof would be a deal breaker for me. I love my Tribit Stormbox and think it sounds great. I can't turn it up too loud or the missus will complain about my choice of music, but I can take it outside especially around water, and it's a lot more portable. Still, appreciate seeing that. I haven't pulled the trigger on Festool yet, but will probably get into their line soon starting with a dust extractor.

I listen to an old, cheap, CD player/radio in the shop 😂😂😂. Speaker quality means nothing when you hear me singing along! I have noticed that speaker sound quality usually only matters, to those of us who are not musically inclined, when you have other speakers to compare. We have small JBL & Sylvannia blurtooth speakers (both of them gifts) & the smaller (but still larger than the other two speakers) version of the Monster bluetooth speaker. All have really good sound to us & we have money left over for other, more important things.

That looks great! I would have thought you liked country more than rock and heavy metal. Back in the 90’s Metallica was my favorite band by far. Their concert was one of the best I have ever seen. I still really like them, but as I got older, I typically listen to more classic country and classic rock from the 70’s. I took my daughter to see Offspring a couple years ago which was her first rock concert.

I have worked in the “sound industry” for 33 years, and I can honestly say that most people don’t know what good or great sound is. But we all know what bad sound is. Sound from a case like that is not good sound. But for a job site it’s probably good enough. Streaming music is all compressed anyway and is only adequate for goodish sound on these devices anyway.

Just my 2 cents worth. Number one you're introducing a lot more loud noises to your ears which can cause hearing loss. Better to use noise canceling earbuds. They at least would help protect your hearing from the frequencies that are most damaging, While still allowing you to hear your music. Also I'm not sure how you figure we can judge the quality of sound when we're listening to your system on our cell phones. I appreciate your enthusiasm for the product, but I'm not sure that it's justified as far as using it in a high noise environment.

If you have to have the radio on so loud so as to hear it above power tools, you better invest in Miracle Ear stock now, because you're going to be stone deaf (like my dad who never wore hearing protection when working with his woodworking tools) in short order. Don't be that guy. Protect your hearing or you WILL regret it. Modern medicine can fix a lot of things; hearing is not one of them. Hearing aids only exacerbate your hearing loss by amplifying sounds so you can hear them, not considering that it was amplified sounds that caused your hearing loss in the first place. Go figure.

I don't care how "good" it sounds, $225 is a lot of money for a shop radio (or whatever you want to call it). It must be nice to be able to afford Festool power tools and Woodpecker hand tools. Unfortunately I'm retired and live on a fixed income, and the closest I'll ever get to those tools is watching other people use them on RUclips...

@@TheFeist77 Unfortunately the price of tradesman quality power tools is getting ridiculous - even for tradepeople that are currently working. I have an entire truck full of red and black tools with most of them being brushless and running on the M18 platform. I also have a few yellow and black mixed in for good measure. I don't even want to think about what it would cost now to replace them.

Or you could save your ears from your shop tools and buy a $90 set of isotunes BT headphones. They sound great and no ambient sounds (like your tools) interfere. Plus your neighbors will like you more. Spend the other $100-some you saved on wood for projects instead.

Sorry I realize this is probably a sponsored video but I mean cmon..
Why did the "premium brand" even make this? Did they not think through it at all? Or even use it?
I mean not only is it not dustproof as a woodworking tool, they're effectively promoting not using hearing protection AND the flipping thing falls over when opened?
Seriously didn't they even open their own product and thought "maybe we should ductape a stone there at the bottom before sending it out to high paying customers so they know we provide that extra quality for them extra monies"?
