Patrick once said in a interview that it's hard to go with the set list all the time because he needs to go at certain paces, and set up the order of the songs correctly. Patrick doesn't always have a powerful voice. (Jk ya he does but he needs to pace him self) So for all of you saying he sucked, let's see you try and hit all of those notes perfectly and breathe perfectly fine and have enough energy to sing a bunch of songs.

The answer is no one (or very very very very few). Quite expecting him to be perfect. Nobody is. No one ever will be. So just enjoy the awesomeness that is FOB and quit being mean plz.
I just think he needs to find more places to take a breath. A lot of rock songs don't do that, but we can't blame him for making good music, but he should try to look for areas in the song where he can take a deep breath for the next line.

No one makes anyone do anything they don't want to do. Its part of the performance. When I saw them live Patrick he was doing the same thing. All singers voices get tired and strained from time to time. Its hard to do that as your everyday job.

Personally, I'm amazed that he can make the song sound this good live--not everyone can do that. His voice sounds amazing! This song is pretty hard to sing NORMALLY, because there are little breath-breaks in between the notes. I applaud Patrick for the wonderful performance!
I love the live recordings (sometime more than the originals) because there's something beautiful about getting to hear all the deviations from the music video's "standard". Just that in the moment lead vocal chorus, makes me so happy there's so much passion in the music.
A few things: 1. This sounds so awesome live (other than a few of Patrick's vocal mistakes, but that's normal when you've got fluff stuck in your throat), and this looks like it was so much fun! 2. TO PEOPLE WHO HEARD THE VOCAL BREAKS, when a singer first gets on stage, even after he or she has warmed up, they need to build up to the high notes in their songs still. THIS is the reason why Patrick puts the songs like Thriller, I Slept With Someone.., and Sixteen Candles in the beginning of their live sets because they are middle octaves, and he can build up to Phoenix and My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark. not everyone can hit that note..."I'm on Fireeeee" in that song. FOB started out with Phoenix to represent the opening song of the album I'm guessing? and that shit has some high ass notes. If you can hit those notes with more accuracy and originality than Patrick....my bad bro this doesn't apply to you

Patrick isn't a bad singer in this. Neither is he not being able to hit some notes. He simply just needs to work on his breathing. He takes many breaths amd it makes it sound a bit off. Also, the breaths are at really bad places like when he says Phoenix. A lot of words are cut off because of him breathing during them. Besides it doesn't sound auto tuned and fake. It sound natural. Patrick is a good singer with a perfect voice and he has a great band.

Since then, I fell in love with the Save Rock and Roll album and listened to all their old stuff too. I dont know what people are talking about, Patrick's voice sounds awesome here, but of course it's not going to sound as perfect and crystal clear as the recorded version. When he's singing in the studio he puts all his energy into his voice, because that''s all he really has to concentrate on. It's completely different on stage where he has to move around and make sure he's in sync with everyone, and probably especially difficult with that mask. besides, when they're recording they do several takes and pick out the ones that sound the best. he's not going to be able to sing the same every time.
Amazing! At least you can tell Patrick is singing and not lip syncing like so many artists do today. I'd rather hear an artist sing live and sound tired than a perfect lip sync!

TO PEOPLE WHO HEARD THE VOCAL BREAKS, when a singer first gets on stage, even after he or she has warmed up, they need to build up to the high notes in their songs still. THIS is the reason why Patrick puts the songs like Thriller, I Slept With Someone.., and Sixteen Candles in the beginning of their live sets because they are middle octaves, and he can build up to Phoenix and My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark. not everyone can hit that note..."I'm on Fireeeee" in that song. FOB started out with Phoenix to represent the opening song of the album I'm guessing? and that shit has some high ass notes. If you can hit those notes with more accuracy and originality than Patrick....my bad bro this doesn't apply to you

Patrick isn't a bad singer in this. Neither is he not being able to hit some notes. He simply just needs to work on his breathing. He takes many breaths amd it makes it sound a bit off. Also, the breaths are at really bad places like when he says Phoenix. A lot of words are cut off because of him breathing during them. Besides it doesn't sound auto tuned and fake. It sound natural. Patrick is a good singer with a perfect voice and he has a great band.

Since then, I fell in love with the Save Rock and Roll album and listened to all their old stuff too. I plan on buying the AB/AP album eventually though :D and I know they have lyrics in there for their songs too.

I dont know what people are talking about, Patrick's voice sounds awesome here, but of course it's not going to sound as perfect and crystal clear as the recorded version. When he's singing in the studio he puts all his energy into his voice, because that''s all he really has to concentrate on. It's completely different on stage where he has to move around and make sure he's in sync with everyone, and probably especially difficult with that mask. besides, when they're recording they do several takes and pick out the ones that sound the best. he's not going to be able to sing the same every time.

No ones perfect Big deal he's an excellent musician and this is a really hard song to sing live I think he sounded amazing loads of musicians sometimes miss or shorten words when live to keep ahead for the next verse and he also had fluff in his throat from the balaclava but still 10/10 performance
