He’s so precious the way he takes his time to greet everyone
Watching Brian in studio is such an inspiration.
Brian's ear for perfection is incredible. Mentally he has this songs sounds in his head, it's crystal clear to him.
The Wilson brother's used to come over to my house and sing with my brother. Being 8 years old I hid under the bed and sang with them, but not for long.
I will never forget Brian's eyes as he glared under the bed at me and said "Bob, your little brother has got to go" I was ejected big brother style.
That's incredible! Do you have any other memorable stories about the boys?
I love that! Thanks for sharing. ♥
At 80 years old he’s lucid and happening. A true inspiration
Such high intelligence and so sad that he has these mental problems. Takes lots of meds to keep him balanced. He's walking the path that life gave him and that is not an easy task. God bless him for all the music he has given the world!
“We need the click.” It’s coming. “What’s coming?” The click! Hahaha
That was funny.
It deserved a chuckle. 😂❤
I can understand why Dennis was in awe of his brother Brian is because he thought in ways that nobody else did and he would make each person feel comfortable in their role.
Even though Brian knew what he wanted he also allowed his musicians to express themselves and even the slightest mistake would turn into something beautiful and it'd be no longer a mistake.
He comes to life in the studio , It's such a joy to see !
One of the kings of the studio - EVER.
Seeing him fine tuning things on the fly is awesome to watch.
Woah different side to the brian on stage. Love it
Happy 80th Birthday to Brian Wilson, I hope he’s doing well!!!😃👍🎤☮️❤️
I don’t believe he is. I saw him a couple nights ago in concert and it was sad to watch. I l’m seriously hoping the man wants to be touring still, but at shows he just sits there, doesn’t play, and hardly sings. It’s a bothersome sight and one that I hope is his desire, and not someone else’s.
@@DanBauer that’s unfortunate to hear! I got tickets to see him next year but it got cancelled, maybe he just can’t tour anymore but I could be wrong!!!☮️♥️
@@whatthejim When did it get canceled? If that was announced recently, then perhaps (hopefully) those around him have come to their senses. His current shows are more sad than anything.
@@DanBauer it got cancelled a couple of days ago which I wasn’t really surprised as it was postponed! It was supposed to be this year but then got delayed until next year which is unfortunately not happening anymore!!!
Brian Wilson is a national treasure. Seeing how he's managed to overcome his problems and still being able to deliver at age 80 is so inspiring. One of the all-time greatest in the history of rock n roll.
He is done delivering unfortunately. We are so lucky to have him, Dylan, and Macca so long and stil making music. But Brian is no longer able. Time and tide wait for no man.
No one like him. Heart and soul. Genius. No other word. American treasure.
the things he hears when he's writing then be able to bring them to life is amazing.
I am so proud of Brian Wilson for surviving. It's a miracle.
The man that brought us great music to this day. What a privilege to live in this time. Thanks
he's one of a kind....happy 80th Brian
This is the only time I’ve ever seen Brian Wilson somewhat comfortable on camera.
Oh, so this is actually happening! I read in his book that he wants to do a rock & roll covers album since before the 50th reaunion of the Beach Boys. So glad he recorded it!!!
I would say this is more an example of what an arranger does than what a producer does. If you look at the history of pop record production the role of the producer can be somewhat nebulous, there have been successful producers for example that aren't capable of doing what Brian is doing here. However, most of what we're seeing is precisely what an arranger does, choosing which/how many backing instruments, writing out parts for them to play, choosing a style and tempo, etc....
In his hey day Brian was both
Agreed. I think Brian is famous for blending both into a single process. Arranging and producing at the same time. "Playing the studio" as an instrument.
Yeah, I think the general audience needs to be reminded that Brian Wilson here is NOT the Brian Wilson of 1965. At that time, he was very much the producer as well as what you see here which is a conductor/arranger capacity. Of course, he also composed, performed piano, bass and many of the vocal parts and leads.
The role of the producer really can range. It not uncommon for a producer to be a mix/recording engineer, arrange or at least guide the arrangement of the songs and even write or play instruments on those songs.
Many of the greatest producers have done some range of all those things.
And that usually comes down to a producer filling out the roles that the artist cannot do themselves in order to get a great record out of the process. Every producer will do that either by doing various tasks themselves or hiring the people who can.
One producer might play 4 instruments on the album, write half the songs, place the microphones and mix the track.
Another might simply guide the process and hire writers, session musicians and engineers for those parts - depending on what the artist can’t or won’t do themselves / the desires of record executives who are paying for the production.
Reallly hope he makes another album.....
Guy is a perfectionist to this day.
So thankful he's still here.
Me too
you are driving around with someone very dear to America precious would be ok word to use here
A sweet, kind man.
Legend
holy hell I'd have so much fun joining that band in the studio!
Thank you Brian ❤️
Aún no pierde el toque este genio larga vida Brian Wilson
A very gifted and precious soul.god bless you for all eternity Mr Brian Wilson. ❤️
I love watching videos of Brian Wilson doing things and interacting with people. This video in particular is a real treat.
I was hoping to see the whole thing come together with the lead vocals.
A legend
That’s really nice Brian ! I Love it ! 😀👍🎸
Greatness
Wow!!
Great documentary
I love Brian
Is the full video only available for US?
❤
anyone know when this was filmed?
it seems that it was 2020 or 2021. if it was 2022 brian wouldn't be like this.
@@fredericofb why
@@fowen5876 you have to watch his latest footage. He looks demented.
@@fredericofbfrom when, a tour ?
2016. Wasn't released until 2020 though.
Brian seems more uncomfortable in these car interviews in this new documentary then I've seen him in any interview. Interviewer talks down to him like Brian's a 5 year old.
Believe it or not, Jason Fine (the guy driving and interviewing Brian) is the guy Brian is most comfortable around.
@@walruswasrob supposedly. Which is why I was surprised. In Jason's defense brian did seem a lot more open in the non video rolling stone interview from a few years ago.
alot of people (by just seeing the concerts) think brian isnt even able to have a coherent conversation, doesent know where he is most of the time etc. they think he is in a vegetative state or something. so i think these interviews go a long way to show the real Brian.
@@walruswasrob ...Wow...Really!? He does seem uncomfortable, but I can't imagine what it's like for him coming from the many challenges he's had for so many decades.
@@dancewomyn1 Brian has always been a awkward guy.
why does he do stuff in that order?
From when is this video - it certainly doesn't seem like Brian in 2022
What Landy did is a miracle. It lasts. Brian is doing well.
No formal education in music. That's why they call him a genius.
All very heartfelt but where is the song? If you walked in to a bar with this playing..................As with the last 40 plus years it's all bits and pieces and everyone's gonna say it's genius!!!! Jason Hines tagging along is annoying as well. Concentrate on the 60's singles/Sunflower/Surfs Up/Holland
Quit making him a show piece.
Everything he did after the BB's kind of sucks
Brian Wilson presents smile kind of sucks?
Smile is Brian Wilson’s greatest work
Most of his solo albums are magnificent. I especially love Imagination. And Rio Grande from his debut solo is a modular recording masterpiece on par with Good Vibrations and Heroes and Villains!
