Great Tips! I actually have a usage for the naming of objects inside of VectorWorks. In almost all my custom python plugins that interact with objects, the first thing it does is to name all of them. If the plugin at a later state has to change something on only one object it just looks for the name, which by the rules of VectorWorks has to be unique. Interesting and also helpful fact. If you manually duplicate the object and it already has a name which ends with a number it counts the number up by one.
Just started using VW a month ago and was about to happily rewatch EA's 10 Tips from 2022 only to find this amazing new set of tips! Coming from a SketchUp background, learning about tip #9 generic solids is a game changer for me!
I'm at probably 10x views on your "10 Beginner Tips" video and I'll probably be a dozen re-watch here as well ahah ! Extremely relevant and insightful. Thanks again for the great content.
Since I have used VectorWorks since it was MiniCAD, I thought, "hmm... maybe I'll catch something new... ya never know." Oh Yeah! The idea of using a 2nd monitor "Floating View Pane?!?!?! I do Zoom meetings all the time with clients, and the ability for them to just look at the Perspective view, while I work on the other monitor to do all the updates?! Must I say it? Game-Changer!! Thank you! Also, I was just working with a colleague who is learning VWX, and he had already found the CTRL-Mouse-Button temporary Fly-over tool, and I was trying to find it myself! HAHA! Plus, Naming Objects, directly connects to Creating Generic Solids before exporting to C4D. Another part of my daily workflow, now much better!! Thank again for this!!
Another instant classic! Great tips!!!
