    I close my eyes, bow my head and listen to your words- I feel I am not worthy to see. Your work is mana to me. Thank you for gracing us stumbling, awkward mortals with your wise words and amazing gifts of light and shadow (can't have one without the other..."light and shadow, light and shadow, warm and cool, warm and cool, can't have one without the other..." as I break out into a mantra of a song). Lead on wise one, there are many humbly following trying to understand and imitate hoping to capture and embody a ray of your enlightenment. I think this is where you ascend dissipating into a transparent wash with brushes in your hand smiling benevolently down upon us rock-like masses with crayons and caves we imitate- just not quite getting it.

    Motivating and engaging video! You can percieve the effects of the verdaccio coming through in the skin and giving a natural look. What yellows did you use? Nice and subtle. We're they yellow ocre, raw sienta or some naples? Your comments when you paint are really helpful!!!

    Hey Cesar. Are you still planning to release your landscape tutorial you mentioned while on your caravan journey before moving permanently to Florence? I have worked through your portrait tutorial in graphite and figure drawing with Nitram twice each, a very satisfying and productive artistic journey for me. Was just wondering if your landscape tutorial is still in play or has now been scrapped as you are going in a different direction yourself?

    • @santocesart
      @santocesart  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the reminder, I'll try to find the time this year.

    • @MaryAnneDorward
      @MaryAnneDorward 2 года назад

      @@santocesart Cool! If you can get to that idea, it would be great. Until then, I just want you to know that I have learned SO much from working along with you in your tutorials. I am so deeply grateful for both your concise and thorough instruction, as well as your inspiration and great good humor. Thank you. While I did not attend an Art Academy, I have now, thanks to your recommendations, worked through some of the books which have also influenced you: Bridgmen, Loomis, Richer, Vanderpoel and Harold Speed. I find it so very interesting that I can now see their influence woven throughout both your original art and your instruction. BUT, the most amazing part for me is that when YOU explain BOTH YOUR OWN AND THEIR ideas, theories, and techniques, and then step by step DEMONSTRATE all these techniques woven together in your videos, I now not only understand, but also can also execute on it in my own work in a way I have never been able to do before. So I just want you to know that, for me, your teaching is a truly unique and priceless education. I would gladly invest in a step by step landscape tutorial, even done in multiple smaller sections released over time, kinda like you and Valentina did with The Power Of Planes and The Power Of Forms, and your other paid instructional videos. Ciao Maestro.

    Another masterpiece! Such a beautiful painting. I see that you paint on unframed canvas. Is it easy to frame after finishing the painting? Do you do it yourself, or do you have it framed by someone else? I'd love to see the process of how you frame your paintings after finishing them. Thank you so much for sharing your painting process! 😊

    • @santocesart

      Thanks, yes they get stretched and framed at the framer's shop. I never had a problem

    • @Foxglove963
      @Foxglove963 2 года назад

      If you intend to stretch canvas, leave a wide margin around the painting, start by inserting tack nails in the middle of the side slaths and work towards the corners. To stretch the canvas tautly use a special pliers, and hammer the nails in. Use only canvas that has been glued, as only this canvas will preserve your painting.

Unfortunately, the characters he chose don't appeal much to me. It's a pity I would like to see something worthwhile. 💗 💕
