    Is nobody gonna talk about how Cesar's videos always have the most rocking jamming background music? I've never felt so damn cool while watching someone paint eyes.

    Cesar owns a Bouguereau... It's just a study but that just blew my tiny artist mind. Bouguereau is one of my favorite figure/portrait artists.
    This is a great video thanks for sharing.

    Glad you mentioned the eye muscles and how they change in reaction to what happens else where in the face. I've just learned that and I'm finding it challenging. Thanks for sharing this -your videos are as always very inspiring. :)

    Thank you for sharing your process with us, Cesar! I loved the note about how the eyes change as well, such a good observation.
    Do you think you would ever do a video about the art you’ve collected and how you’ve acquired your pieces? I had to rewind, I was like, “he has a Bouguereau!?” I bet there’s a cool story there!
    Thank you again. I have a few of your portrait classes and absolutely love them. Keep them coming. 👏🏻👏🏻

    You did a masterful job opening her eyes up and I realize I'm in the very small minority who prefer the expression of her eyes closed but it was terrific watching the transformation. Thank you for sharing 💖

      I do preferred the eyes closed pose too but for the reason that it gives a more spiritual feeling to the piece, often we have the eyes open position with masters of painting.

    Mr. Santos, I tried to watch your brush strokes, seems easy, but when I tried it, don't look the same from your painting. Is there a secret in brush strokes? I hope you can also give an indepth tutorial on brush strokes when you are free. Thank you.

    • @transientimages
      @transientimages 3 года назад +4

      Don’t focus on the strokes themselves, focus on the shapes they make and try that instead.

    • @hardwors11
      @hardwors11 3 года назад +4

      Perception, intention, expression... to flow and let from within a path that, out of curiosity and belief, shapes the form...; the more a stroke is calculated, the less the organic process of painting takes place. let it happen, without perfection, persist, and the strokes will begin to take shape.

    8:14 hi I'm a beginner and wanted to know why I are drawing from such a distance( Ur hand isn't close to the tip of the brush ) when doing details? Aren't details and precise lines supposed to be done up close?
    Is it because of experience or because u wanted a more vague shape to start with?

    • @santocesart
      @santocesart  3 года назад

      I don't know, that's how I find precision. It develops over time.
      Do whatever you find comfortable.

    Maestro yo pienso que se miraba mejor con los ojos algo cerrado, osea no completamente cerrado sino como esas pinturas del maestro: "William bouguereau" (me explico), pero en fin, es solo mi simple opinión, usted es el creador de su obra y solo Dios sabrá, como va a culminar su trabajo, siempre he seguido su trabajo y usted es uno de los artista que me ha inspirado, y yo creo que usted es algo asi como el william bouguereau de nuestra actualidad.

    Now that was something - you opened her eyes - now I thought the original with closed eyes to be a perfect motive - opening her eyes and giving her this wayward stare? You live, you make mistakes, that was a mistake. It's just a dead stare!
