this is not easy to sing not just bc of the riffs and sudden falsettos but there's actually no gap between the verses, prechorus and chorus. she's controlling her breathing so well to be able to hit those riffs and also low notes well. I'm so impressed with her 😭

I think it’s common knowledge that Wendy has the vocals down. The thing that differentiates her from other main gg vocalists is how versatile her voice really is and in RV’s songs, her riffs and belts in the melodies really complete their tracks. If it weren’t for those little layers, it wouldn’t be as good.

In new RV songs? She's rapped in Taste and Time Slip already and when she has filled in for Irene and Joy she has rapped on Dumb Dumb and Ice Cream Cake. There's even a video of her rap version of Ice Cream Cake. She got them Main Rapper skills. Her voice can do anything.
I always state her agility and versatility is what sets her apart from other Main Vocals. She really is on another level than most and even those on her level can't flex their vocals as well as Wendy.
Let me just add that her dynamics in singing is also what makes her an amazing vocalist. She knows when to go powerful with her voice, when to sing softly, breathy, head-y or chest-y, when to use falsetto and when not to, etc. She's not like other vocalists who tend to sing powerful all throughout the song to flex their vocals. Wendy can belt, yes, but she can prove herself to be an excellent singer without doing so.

my sister is a singer in a rock band. she doesn’t normally like kpop songs because she can’t understand the lyrics. she also rarely hear kpop artists with good voices (she only likes D.O.’s voice and their band covers Paramore songs so the standard for vocal ability is really high). i was watching Wendy’s IG live the other day and wendy was singing this song. my sister was staring at the video and i was nervous as to what she would say. the chorus came in and she said, “i love you already.” yes, only WENDY can do that.

the only singer aside from Ailee whom I hope stay for the longest time in korean music industry. I've seen a lot of powerful belters in South Korea, but not many who have souls in their voice. In this younger gen, only these two that I remember can do runs and not afraid to be super technical about their vocal, and they slayed them in live performances too, not only in studio recording. Amazing performance Wendy!

@@martinn._.r My hope for all idols going forward from small to big company’s is that they sing on more live stages/shows like this to showcase their vocals and as kpop has gotten bigger than before thinks to BTS and Others big act’s please try to do little to no lip singing as it will not be well received Globally as well as Locally people just aren’t going to let u side as much as before if u can sing live 95% of the time.
