I have the Gauntlet in both .22 and .177. One problem is the orientation of the regulator. When tightened the fill port and gauge do not line up in the slots of the cover. You could unscrew the regulator slightly to achieve proper orientation but I didn't like the fact that the tank/regulator wiggle until filled with air. So my fix was to remove the bonnet from the regulator and using a lathe shave a few thousands off the end, so when putting it back on orientation is achieved. Or replace the regulator with a "V2" model that is designed to be adjustable for orientation.
You don't need to do all that. Screw the bottle in until it bottoms out. Then unscrew it until it's aligned properly ( about half ,to one turn). Then fill with air. The pressure will tighten it all up. You may call Umarex themselves and verify this. If you tighten it up excessively. Then it will be hard to get the bottle off later, even when its empty. You don't need to worry about it being loose. Because a PCP airgun needs to be stored under pressure. This keeps the seals tight. I hope that helps.
I read your comments section. I added my knowledge where I think it will help. Your Gauntlet is pretty quiet from the factory. I would not mess with the baffles. You can pack a box full of old clothes to make a pellet target. It will stop the pellets and is quite. Aaron Cantrell has a video on it, if you want to see it.
I believe I did mention the distance towards the end of the video but to save you some time looking for it, it was roughly about 30 yards ( 90 feet ). My property is 43 yards wide and I was shooting from one end of the property right against my fence line to the other but minus the trees and tool shed area. Which is roughly 4 yards (12 feet) hope that helps! Thanks for the view.
Most. 177 Gauntlets will shoot 70 times on a 3,000 psi fill. Your rifle may be shooting faster than normal. Mine shoots 10.34 JSB at around 860 fps. I have a larger 360cc bottle and regulator set to give me 150 shots. My factory bottle gave 70 shots but about 900 fps. You must buy a chronograph to see exactly what your rifle is doing. The pro Crono is around $100 bucks, This will tell you exactly what your rifle shoots fps, extreme spread and standard deviation between shots. CONGRATULATIONS on your new rifle. Enjoy. God bless you. 🎯
I was thinking of getting a barrel band too but I’m not sure if I really need it right now. I’ve been lugging the gauntlet around everywhere I go and haven’t experienced any issues with the tank cover touching the barrel shroud or the barrel in general being misaligned. Not sure if it’s because I only have the .177 version but I was considering the $30 barrel band by umarex. I watched most of Mr Hajimotos videos and I wasn’t too impressed with his version of a barrel band but the rest of his videos were great! I’m seriously considering buying the baffle system he has and replacing the air stripper to the aluminum one only because after checking mine, it had a small crack that I just used resin bond to repair.
Hey man I don’t know if your going to see this because you haven’t posted in a while, but I’m a really big fan of your videos, you showed us about the guns but could you do some videos on like squirrel pest control??????
Nice! I just went to my friends house and shot his $400 PCP and it still didn’t compare to the gauntlet when we did a side by side. The only thing that really made his stand out over the gauntlet, was the quality and design of his.

Would have been nice if you told us how far the target was.

What are your 1st mods? I am thinking barrel band after adjusting the factory setting on the trigger. Check out Hajimoto products.

@@jago808hawaii6 Call Umarex USA. They will send you a new designed version for free. Simply pull off the cracked one and slide the new stripper on.

I love my gauntlet I can get 3/4 inch groups at 40 yards with the jsb hades, but I am waiting for the tank to come back because it started leaking

Just got mine on close from PA. Figured I couldn't go wrong on my first pcp for under $200.
