I did not feel satisfied in my endeavor to understand the skull for the purpose of drawing with what was shown to me thus far in anatomy for artists´ books. I feel that to really get a feeling for the skull you must know its many intricate parts and the purpose for their existence. This knowledge that is much deeper than the surface helps me UNDERSTAND that surface because now I know what to FEEL for when drawing it in different angles, since I have a much more 3D map in my head now that I can come back to and study when drawing the skull. Thank you very much. If I ever make any sort of tutorial about the skull, I will be glad to cite this video.

You are a life saver. My teachers in med school "taught" this too but I understood nothing and felt like I have to resort to rote memorization to pass the exam. However, when you explained it using different pictures to show different perspectives showing the course of the nerves through the foramina, I immediately understood it. I'm thinking maybe I am not dumb, maybe my teachers are just ineffective at teaching. I have learned more from you than from my teachers. Thank you!

  • @dskim24

Three things that are in desperate need in many other styles of teaching anatomy that you deliver in abundance. 1 -- always reminding of context, where is this again, zoom out just a bit now and then. 2 -- quick mentions of the Latin meanings. I don't know why people don't do this more, it sticks more than one would expect. 3 -- not giving us an impressive avalanche of anatomic navigation terms as fast as possible. When teachers say "and just inferioanterolaterallynorthbynorthwest to that is" as fast as they can I have to stop the lecture, and that ends up accumulating to at least double the time. It's nice to gain fluency in the jargon, but just say "and next to that" once in a while like you do.
    So thank you very much.

Dr. Decker at Georgia Tech recommended your channel for some helpful videos to review the content and I have to say, this one is definitely a must-view before our first lab practical. Thank you so much for the amazing educational content!

    Am very grateful.
