There's much more to each episode than you notice watching it the first time. so definitely its totally worth it to watch it twice, thrice or even more.. just three episodes but there's so many little puzzles to solve, for viewers too , so many things you missed the last time.. It urges the viewer to _THINK_ n that's what i find absolutely _FASCINATING_ about this Show!!
I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Mark Gatiss over Christmas. He's every bit as witty and intelligent as you'd imagine and also incredibly down to earth. So thankful I met him!
+Julliana Paulino No apologies are needed. There are many on the internet who cannot express themselves in their first language as well as you can in your second language.
+ketmaniac My God, where have you been Mon Ami. I've met a lot of Americans online who claim to speak English perfectly while hypocritically committing mistakes every minute or so. I'm simply assuming that they think they have this sort of authority just because their first language is English. Of course with that classical reason of "I'm american, then I must be superior than you in terms of linguistics".
+Conspiracy And The truth The vast majority of human beings do not speak their native language well, most speak in the common vernacular. I met a Chinese guy that owned a Chinese restaurant over in Kansas, and he used to be a professor of Chinese who taught at the university level over in China, and he told me it took him twenty years to master the vastness and complexity of the Chinese character system, in both reading and writing . But he told me on just the level of speaking the language , most native Chinese do not speak good Chinese, and this was a common principle in all nations, the psychology of friendship and acceptance by your peers, trying to fit in , lack of education or apathy in scholastic endeavors , parents who don't care , the control of the media and the types of people portrayed as acceptable or unacceptable...etc...etc......also regarding your statement of American English as opposed to British English.... if you get into the history of the rise and fall of nations and the actual control of a nation by those behind the scenes, the super rich and how they employ means to further that control...you will find that America whether great or really bad is in truth but an extension of Great Britain, from the Protestant Reformation to the Magna Carta/The Constitution , you will find Great Britain and extending on into America, the hand of Jesus in establishing truth and liberty among men...but in this bloody war there is apostasy both political and especially religious, and those laws once founded as a bastion against tyranny , bondage and genocide are being turned around and being used as a means to effect those very evils....they are now calling evil good, and good is declared to be evil... "....if the light that is in the be darkness , how great is that darkness...."...and again ".... the wicked knoweth not that he hath a lie in his right hand..."....this entire international banking cartel is the very men who are bringing about the UN...the Fed is actually part of the House of Windsor, whose real family name is Hanover, which is a German name .....the old saying was the two main banking centers in the world were London and Frankfurt....something to think about...
same. for such a major surge of feels, (naahhh haha kidding aside) for such an amazing and big production, it IS worth the wait. but i fear for the future season might be released after we die as old people
They first make victorian sherlock Holmes into present day sherlock and then make him go back into victorian times trying to solve the problems of present day sherlock. _This, my friends, is why we call them devils_ ;)
Watching this after seeing s4 is beautiful cuz they're talking about redbeard and other s4 things and I'm just cackling like a crazy person because MARKS FACE when the guy says "so we know hes the dog but nothing else" makes me so happy
It's beautiful to see it unfold much the way they did in writing. What if red beard is a dog, what if it's a false memory, what if it's this terrible thing........ the show is fantastc
I didn't watch Sherlock when it was on the tv, I couldn't see how it would work in the modern world, loved the series from the 80's and thought it should remain 'victorian'. It was only when my daughter got me to watch the dvds that I saw it and realised that it was bloody fantastic! With such excellent writing and fantastic cast it could work set in any era.
You know what? I feel kinda sorry for Gatiss and Moffat (and the actors,...) because they will never ever have that amazing experience of watching the episodes without knowing anything about whats going to happen and they will never know what it's like to discover every detail and of course they will never feel the heartache, amazement, happiness, love or whatever the show might make any of the fans feel. :)
+AnnyJay your comment here actually reminds me of something I found pretty amusing when first listening to several years ago the directors commentary that Peter Jackson (along with Fran Walsh & Phillipa Boyens) did for the original DVD release of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy (I believe the one in particular here was for Fellowship Of The Ring). But obviously with him being the director of each of the films, and inside the editing room every day, he became so close to the film it made it impossible for him to be able to enjoy it as a moviegoing experience, like how after he first felt many years ago when originally reading the book as a child. But so at one point he mentions that he'd had this fleeting idea of going and being hypnotized by someone, to make himself be like an average person and going into the theater for the first time, and see Lord Of The Rings totally detached from it. So that he could enjoy it as a fan, like millions of us have. BUT, he realized he would never go thru with it, for fear of something might falter during the process and he'd be left in the forgetful trance of having ever made the film(s) in the first place, and it could never be reversed lol and btw, Anny Jay now if you'll allow me to be incredibly cliche and predictable in telling you that I think you have very pretty eyes! :D
The one thing I don't quite understand is why Sherlock would imagine having The Talk with John unless he finds it fun to imagine the way John would ask about it
Two Things: One: Can I just say "THANK YOU!" to Amanda for saying all the things about the show "I loved that," "That part was brilliant" ect.. that I want to say, but will likely never be in a room with those three to do so? Because yeah, hearing her talk about the show like that to them was so, *so*, satisfying! :D Two: I had always wondered if they saw that fan theory and what they thought of it...and if Mark didn't post it himself for a bit of fun. ;)
I so envy the fun they must have on set. One big family. When is Marks partner/parent/kid gonna get a role? ;) Amanda and Martin, Benedict, Wanda and Timothy, Steve, Sue and Louis. It's only Mark left!
In my opinion The Abominable Bride is the best episode the whole of BBC Sherlock the series produced. I also feel Andrew Scott stole the show especially when he pulls the veil off and it's Jim in the wedding dress. That is a scene that will live in my memory forever. Sherlock may see Dr. John Watson as a damsel in distress but he sees Jim Moriarty as a bride in his mind. What's that say about his true feelings ???
What if the fake scene filmed that was talked about at 40:02 with Moriarty and Mycroft shaking hands is something for season 4..... ............................................................
While I certainly love the "Sherlock" series (and a Sherlock Holmes fan as well), I personally think a good part of the series' success is due to none other than the leading man himself, Benedict Cumberbatch. I believe this is the case in many successful shows; there have to be compelling, leading characters with top-notch supporting characters as well - but the top guy(s) and/or gal(s) is the lynchpin. ...Ok, yes, I'll admit that I also think Ben is a great actor AND beautifully handsome as well. ;-) *blush*
Okay, so no matter what they'll want us to think will happen, it'll be the exact opposite of a variation of something else, but completely different. I.e. never trust the Mofftissue. Ever.
To the person who posted this video (presumably a person of the producing crew of the said show). It has come to my thoughts that is it even possible for you to produce English captions for the given video? I'm not mad whatsoever, it just happens so that a lot of people with disabilities concerning hearing are suggesting under/below this comment. Thanks in advance! :)
Anyone notice that when Sherlock and Watson were waiting outside the Carmichaels' house that their faces were lit when both people turned their lights off? And that too with fluorescent lighting?
+maraschinom I went to a theater showing of the special and it was definitely not captioned. I'm really glad I'd watched it (captioned, yay for deaf accessibility laws wrt public television!) on PBS several times beforehand or I would have missed many things. Also, hi! I'm hard of hearing and also probably have an auditory processing disorder. Captions are a must for me .
+Rose Jordan Hi! I love PBS and that they show captions. I and most of the deaf community would go to the theater in droves if they showed Sherlock captioned. :/ I hope they do this for series 4. *crosses fingers* I'm pretty lucky to have some theaters with cc around here in WA. :)
Next time you spend a lot of money on creating period food, instead of throwing it away, donate it to the homeless and the needy. You don't have to walk far to find someone in need. It would be kind and the moral thing to do and would also be great PR for the show.
27:00 there's something hilarious about two very gay men hiding behind each other and panicking with a conclusion of SHOULD WE KISS? OH GOD?! 49:48 oh how wrong he was
it was a great twist but they got a little too greedy, at first I thought huh, what a coincidence about the way the bride died, and the "resurrection". But they shouldn't have had sherlock say "he", we've almost spent more time in sherlocks mind palace then in the real world or atleast his recollections. So when he said "he" it was the final drop and pretty obvious. I actually got more curious about his drug addiction since they were so adamant about having it be cigarettes before molly hit him. Great episode I just felt they shouldn't have had the line in when the deaths were so similar. But such great excuse to bring back a dead villain that we all wanted to see face off 1 last time though I do hope it doesn't become a crutch. I hope they are able to make Toby Jones sherlocks opposite like they did with him playing a mirror version of matt smith in dr who (I'm sure in his imagination he will maybe pop up, but I don't want it to take away from whatever Toby Jones will be doing) Magnussen could have been if we had gotten to know him, a villain that feels like he/she doesn't doesn't want anything in particular needs the least screen time. Their unpredictability is what makes them fascinating. And while magnussen just wanted power to push people that in itself is a goal, to be able to push powerful people and it's reasoning is much more complicated. One which the main "bad guys" in mr robot is equally guilty of but while it did take time and his ultimate goal is still unknown, we have some sense of where he comes from. Magnussen's death was sherlock realizing that he would not be stopped by any other means but that says more about sherlock. Why magnussen seemed to enjoy ignoring human curtacy and liked to push people on what we would consider so rude and crude behavior is something that actually does need explanation. He says he has no master plan and while after the behavior we have seen him do it's not impossible that he just liked using the prime ministers kitchen sink as a bathroom .He did seem to not only enjoy the fact, but had actually planned the "finale" with mycroft and his swat team as a way to show sherlock by owning mary he effectively owned "queen and country". "Some men just want to watch the world burn" is true for moriarty, but not magnussen, I felt he was missing some motivation eventhough he went through tremendous efforts.
"They have not watched it 30000 times they've watched it once"
Don't underestimate us Mark
XD
Most have watched , I have observed
Thats right. People who watch an episode from a series more than 10 times are not only OBSESSED, but they are also INSANE.
There's much more to each episode than you notice watching it the first time. so definitely its totally worth it to watch it twice, thrice or even more.. just three episodes but there's so many little puzzles to solve, for viewers too , so many things you missed the last time.. I love the close ups on Mark Gatiss and I love Mark Gatiss.
"We know Redbeard's a dog"
*mark nods unconvincingly*
Well now we know
I know I'm pretty off topic but does anyone know a good website to watch new series online ?
@Miller Moshe i use Flixzone. You can find it on google :)
@Lawrence Ezequiel Definitely, been using FlixZone for months myself :)
@Lawrence Ezequiel Thank you, signed up and it seems like a nice service :D Appreciate it!!
Everyone complains about them, but i really think Sherlock is one of the only series I strongly believe are worth the long hiatus'.
Sorry for my english, it's not my first language.
+Julliana Paulino No apologies are needed. There are many on the internet who cannot express themselves in their first language as well as you can in your second language.

Meant that as a complement
I wish that this had captions to make this more accessible to a wider range of fans.

Frickin weirdos. Thats unhealthy obsession right there
@@PhantoMace2012 Maybe. And what about that?
50:32 Gotcha! Everyone's got secrets and they all replied too quickly.

Moffat loves Mind Palaces so much that he gave the Doctor one
The doctor runs through the set of sherlock so often

I have a very passionate love for Mark and Steven and at the same time I absolutely hate them and thats how you know they are great writers!
26:18 "To a certain point when, you know, whenever the crew's bored, we dangle Benedict" 🤣🤣
It would be great if this and other videos included captions and so made accesible to the deaf and people from other countries.
If I could marry a television series it would be Sherlock ^^
Eva same 😂
If I could marry a character in a television series it would be Sherlock xD always Sherlock! XD
You know what? +AnnyJay But they have the other curiosity of watching other peoples' face when they see the episodes. It must be also an experience for their own.
geeky dhaval yeah thats true :)
+AnnyJay I feel sorry for myself because I can't watch it a second time as it would be the first time.
I wish there was a specific Memory remover. Like the one in Men In Black. ;)
Their lies are so obvious, it's hilarious!
"What's next on Sherlock?"
"Revelations"
Johnlock?!!!!!
I really don't mind the long wait, it makes it that much more worthwhile. Its like waiting for a film sequel to come out :)

The fact that they all said "Yes" right away when asked if Moriarty was dead makes me very suspicious
you do in fact only get Andrew Scott pics if you google Moriarty!
the random camera zooms IM DEAD!
An extra treat I wasn't expecting when I found this by accident. Just grand.
One of the best interviewers!!! Well done! Thx!
I'm still amazed at how this show 1) ties with, and sometimes, replaces "Doctor Who" as No. 1 in my heart and 2) made me a fan of Sherlock Holmes.
I so envy the fun they must have on set. One big family. When is Marks partner/parent/kid gonna get a role? ;) Amanda and Martin, Benedict, Wanda and Timothy, Steve, Sue and Louis. It's only Mark left!
Marks partner (husband? I don't know if they are married tbh) plays Moriarty's defense lawyer in the Reichenbach Fall episode :)
Phelie315 Ian Hallard is Marks Husband ^-^
I'd love a Mary and Molly spinoff :D
They said it guys!!!We cannot trust anything they say
"When you pre-emptively copy something, you're taking plagiarism too far."
Mark is so pretty when he smiles
Some english subtitles would be nice! :)
if they made season three more light to emphasize the dark, does that mean that they're making season four more dark to emphasize the light?
29:40 for Mark's Andrew Scott impression 😂😂
He did a brilliant impression 😊😊
Thank you for your art and time.
Something about Abbie Abington is adorable to me. She has such a beautiful smile. 😄
Thank you so much for such a fun interview!
I think the minor mention of Michael Fassbender gave the Sebastian Moran fans a little glimmer of hope xD

Sherlock may see Dr. John Watson as a damsel in distress but he sees Jim Moriarty as a bride in his mind. What's that say about his true feelings ???
I watched the episode and I realized that there were some lines for Sherlock himself, which could also work for The Doctor.
Amanda's necklace keeps flashing that moth/butterfly. Kind of distracting, but she is adorable, so, it is a fair trade off.
9:55, RANDOM DRAMATIC PULL-IN!

I really really hope that they are lying and Moriarty isn't dead!

23:48 what the hell are we talking about
i know the actors playing Sherlock and Watson are dreading the day they may have to kiss.
I bet if the show was going that way, they would have told the actors before they took the roles.
Annie Turnbull but if course. Even still
Tony Winters true
Cameron Goldthorpe hmmm?
Tony Winters "May"? 😬
where can u watch it
I want to know if Anthea will be in it... Pls...
How Abbington shows her face is beyond me,she did not earn that part.
This is from 2016 remember

It's not on Netflix or bbc!!!!!
Lottie Miller i think it is on netflix
WACTORS
I may or may not like this video.
Brilliant episode. However, the whole Monty Python fat Mycroft was a bit silly, and didn’t work.
True, and it’s also insulting to those who struggle with their weight.
Mycroft in the original stories of Conan Doyle has him very fat, lazy and eats and drinks all the unhealthy Victorian food and drinks.
ok
