What I expected: Horrible house.
What I got: Horrible people.
Lol! When he said “oh my gosh, stop the car Jacob!” I damn near slammed on my brakes in the middle of the freeway for no reason XD (my names Jacob, and I was driving at the time, obviously). I managed to not do that, which made it funny, but yeah. Amusing side effect, there. Just figured I’d share. 😆
Quite an enthralling story. Makes you think the house is turning the two against each other for some sadistic game before revealing that the visions weren't fabrications of falsities, but windows into the truth.
The twist was pretty well executed as well. Usually, I anticipate twists with a good amount of accuracy, but this once eluded my detection well.

This is definitely one of the best short pastas I've heard in a while. It pulls you in, keeps you on edge, and the ending was perfect! Very well written! 😊

@@Kyle-vg2io The husband practically admits to having done all those things through his own perspective.
That being said, there exists a possibility that the house itself is inserting false memories and affirmations, molding the lives of those subject to it into being what it wants them to be.
It is open to interpretation, but I like the idea that the otherworldly supernatural force isn't inherently evil, but exposes the real evils in the world. In a way, it shows that the mind of a dark-hearted human can be just as terrifying as any demon/spirit/abomination.

OOOOh this one was soooo good. I used to call my ability to forget unpleasant things that happened, my super power. But after listening to this story....maybe it's a curse.

This was one of those rare cases where a story made me go "WAIT WHAT?!" The twist about Jacob was so unexpected. I thought it was going to be a cliché "Oh no he is cheating!" But nah.... that caught me off guard.
Ok, not gonna lie, the split perspectives were a bit confusing at first, but damn... That got dark. Very well written story though. Its funny how the scariest monsters we may ever meet are the ones we hold closest to us...

I agree. It seems that doesn't happen from my pov, though. It's those who are horrible ppl tend to get it the easiest.
I don't think I can agree sure what he did was horrible that I can agree with but I find it hard to condemn someone for all eternity for finite crimes I think wishing an eternal punishment upon anybody makes you worse than they ever could be

@@bdoopy4167it’s not really a punishment though. He’ll get to potentially survive beyond a normal human’s lifespan, just in this house. Now if he was going to starve/dehydrate like normal, or die slowly in any other manner then it would be fairly cruel
