      As a Giants fan, I'm amazed at how good he is and how he has been consistent in so many World Series. I'm also surprised at how much respect he gets. I always respected Jeter, despite never liking the Yankees and it seems like Bumgarner is getting a similar sort of respect from the fans of other teams. Maybe not Royals fans at the moment, but I understand why.

    • @recinos15
      @recinos15 9 лет назад

      Yeah I mean the Cards kicked the crap out of us in the 80s and 90s and probably even more before that, now I feel like the two teams operate on a level of mutual respect.

    As a born and raised St. Louis Missourian and die hard Cardinals fan, I'm very much of a fan of the Giants. I'm happy for MadBum (he looks like a nice humble down to earth guy...hell of a pitcher as well!) and the Giants winning 3 World Series within 5 years. Only 2 teams have accomplished that: Cardinals in 1942, 1944, 1946, and the Giants in 2010, 2012, 2014. The reason why I'm a fan of the Giants is because they remind me so much of the Cardinals: classy historical organization from the fans, to the managers, to the players.

    Madison is in no way an average pitcher in the regular season. He's just an underrated pitcher because he's in the same league as (also left handed) Clayton Kershaw. He turns it to 11 during the post-season but he's in no way a bad pitcher the rest of the time. He's finally stepping out of the shadow of Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum

    Poor Bumbgarner. I mean, he's an AMAZING guy and an historic pitcher. He's very humble even after winning 3 World Series rings, and breaking records on the mound. But because he's so humble, you can tell he's a bit uncomfortable on this show, only talking about himself and his achievements (and not to mention Jimmy shaking his butt in front of his face). I think he handled it pretty well, all things considered.
    I hope MadBum stays exactly as he is, though. Humble, quite and a bit socially awkward :) It's part of what makes him such a great pitcher, teammate, and person.

      Edward Kwong I'm from SF, and I gotta agree. Bumgarner and Panda really did carry this team through the post season. If not for them, the Giants would have sucked ass this year like they did for much of the season. Bumgarner is massively talented.

    although I wanted the royals to win so bad, it's impossible for me to hate on this man. MadBum is just filthy! He's cold blooded! no emotion during the biggest games of the season! he knows how to do one thing and he does it well, pitch. let's not forget to mention that he's one of the most humble guys in the league. Class act MadBum.

    • @Kayak1088
      @Kayak1088 9 лет назад

      You must have missed the game where him AND Buster both hit grand slams? They don't pitch to Madison like he is an easy out. He can knock the cover off of the ball.

    • @dominicremaro8687
      @dominicremaro8687 9 лет назад

      Just FYI..... Bum hits almost .280 with 4 HRs this season and TWO grand slams just this season alone and 16 RBIs. That's nuts. Dude can hit as well. He can also field his position as in he is nimble and has a glove and is a freakishly amazing all around athlete. Just saying.....

    • @dyip32
      @dyip32 9 лет назад +2

      True that on the "cold blodded" emotions this guy shows - it's unbelievable how much poise this guy has.
      Though I'm not a Giants fan, nor a baseball enthusiast for that matter - I do recall seeing this guy pitch one time back in the "day" (ie. 2010?) and watching that fluid motion of his left arm when he pitches. For the little baseball that I've watched, I've never seen such a fluid motion in a pitch - usually I describe pitching styles by the "wind up", the throw, and then a snap. This guy's pitch is just 1 fall swoop. Ever since then I've declared Bumgarner my favorite baseball pitcher :P (yes, despite not being a baseball fan)

  • @javilasierra
    @javilasierra 9 лет назад +31

    This guy is an average or a slightly above average pitcher throughout the regular season but when its October and you need a pitcher to pitch multiple games in a series, he's the guys you want to give the ball too. He gets better in high leverage moments and turns into a stud, like Fernando Valenzuela and Curt Schilling.

    • @thenicest2242
      @thenicest2242 9 лет назад +29

      You dont know what you're talking about. Look at his stats, he is not a average regular season pitcher. 2013 he has a ERA of 2.77 and this year he had a ERA of 2.98. That is Top 5-10 stats kid

    • @javilasierra
      @javilasierra 9 лет назад

      Joseph Ruigomez okay, so he's a slight better than average. But he's not a flat out star pitcher throughout the regular season, in a league thats has become a pitchers league. Is you truly look at his metrics, he's not as good as he is in the postseason. Last year, he had a nice good solid season, nothing spectacular.

    • @thenicest2242
      @thenicest2242 9 лет назад +12

      Javier Avila 2.77 ERA isnt "solid"...its some of the best the league has to offer. Whenever you start well over 30 games and post a ERA in the 2's. You're damn good, and all in his early 20s. SF is gonna have an elite Ace for a long time! Although we thought the same about Lincecum too lol

    • @thenicest2242
      @thenicest2242 9 лет назад +5

      Joseph Ruigomez Lincecum was Kershaw good in 08-09-10

    • @javilasierra
      @javilasierra 9 лет назад +1

      Joseph Ruigomez Lincecum was really good back in 08-10, but nowhere near as good and dominant as Kershaw. Kershaw is one of the greatest regular season pitchers of all-time. His number are ridiculously, its rare to see a pitcher put number like Kershaw has been. No one has been as good as Kershaw since Drywall and Koufax. Kershaw is crazy good pitcher and way better than Lincecum. Look at thier numbers, even the metric guys will tell you Kershaw is a special pitcher.

    Magnificent stuff. The best part - Mad Bum himself knows he just performed well over 3 games. What a 3 games to do it, but still, he's not getting carried away with himself. There is no limit to what he can achieve in the game if he stays humble and focused. I just hope whatever he does achieve, he does it with the Giants for many more years to come.
    Even if he retires tomorrow he can be proud of that record - 3 rings in 5 years.

      Because you are a baseball fan and fan of the Giants. Baseball fans are very superstitious. And notice things like that. It's been being talked about for a while. That and the Giants seem to win in only even years. 2010,2012,2014.

    I'm a big fan of you from South Korea, i've been watching your game for a long time since 2014.
    This 2020 season i've been so sad during watching your game but i don't think you are gonna show us the same result next year.
    So please cheer up and come back as a pitcher that i remember.
    Always rooting for you. Thank you

    What happened is that the Royals ran in to a Buzz saw or a horse if you may. There is no fear in this guy he provably has ice running thru his veins. He raises to the occasion when others may crumble under pressure. True story, they interviewed his dad and he said " That boy would steal a steak from the divil himself if he could". He was totally in the Royals heads and he prayed on them using their aggressiveness against them swinging at pitches not inches but feet away from the strike zone making them look silly (tough to do to a MLB player). The moment he strutted into the mound in game 7 FEAR and intimidation set in the Royals players and fans giving him the complete edge and the Series..Game over! Better luck next year Royals that was a hell of a series.

      Your comment is spot on. Madison was definitely in the royals heads. So much that when he came in the game after a lead off single they try to bunt just to get in scoring position with no outs. I have to give it to this guy no fear not intimidated at all. Guess we shouldn't be surprised he did the same thing to the Rangers when he was only 20. The good ones have this kind of killer attitude.

    • @mrsocal09
      @mrsocal09 9 лет назад +13

      Why? What's wrong with your life? Be proud of who you are. Don't worry about everyone else. His career is peaking & he'll need to find out what do with himself in about 10 yrs. I'm sure baseball is one of the only things he knows. It's scary for retired athletes. Fame can't buy privacy. Be happy with who you are and don't let society tell you what you think your life should be like.

    • @AlexisJay611
      @AlexisJay611 9 лет назад +1

      mrsocal09 it's more of a "dang, am I too old to get into the game" Not a real game- the only athletic thing I do is run and volleyball. However, being in a movie is one of my dreams and so when I find out their ages, I feel like I have missed the bus. I will continue to work for my dream! I appreciate your encouragement :) Thank you! I don't really get "depressed" but I am reminded that I not where I want to be just yet. Plus I still sometimes have to be reminded I am 25, because for some reason I feel like I haven't really done anything since I was 22

    KC fans I read this article about how humble and kind you were to us giants fans when we came to your home park. But reading all of the negative comments from KC fans it just confuses me. This is the thing, this was the best world series that I have ever saw! It was so intense and just so much fun to watch as each team was getting closer and even with each-other. Any team could have won this series. I am a die hard San Francisco Giants fan, so yes I will always root for my giants and never against them. But if Kansas City wasn't playing the giants and instead played the Cardinals, I would have probably rooted for KC!!! I understand what KC is going through. You haven't won a world series in 25 years! The giants didn't win their first world series as the SF Giants since 1954. So yes, I diffidently know what you are all feeling, but I wouldn't give up just because my giants beat you. I would keep fighting and try again next year. The Royals has so much class and I respect all of the players and the coaching staff, except for Billy Butler( not really into him). You have so much potential to do great next year. Just for the team to get into the World Series and to beat all of the AL teams is major accomplishment and just made all of your fans even more engaged, have fun, and just made for a wonderful season for the Royals and their fans. Let me just tell you that our players, coaching staff, and fans of the San Francisco Giants, as me being a SF Giants fan and representing, I want to say that we arent that type of team to gloats and shows off and has a cocky attitude about us winning this season. Our season as the SF giants didnt start off that great, we were in a big slump in the middle of the season losing games and having injuries and not finding a second baseman or left fielder. We struggled this year, but we came back with a vengeance. It is the exact same thing as the Royals. Same story, two wild card teams unexpected to make it this far. But it was such a great year and such a great series. Just please dont be hating on the giants, as you can see Mad Bum is such an ordinary, humble, and calm person. And he is so respectful! So please dont hate the giants, we are not horrible fans or a horrible team. We are a low budget team, just like KC. So please dont hate on us, and if you are jealous than just move on and win it next year. As a SF Giants fan, I will root for KC to win next year, as long they dont play my boys. So haters and jealous people go away!!!!!!
