I'll stick with White Castle. Both spots are clearly a failure. Thank you for saving me from trying the JC spot. I went to White Manna in Hackensack and left saying yuck with the exception of the pickles.
Hackensack was good for us. But can't deny it. WC is King. Actually, I'm craving a White Castle Double Cheeseburger right now.
My hometown. Yes it is worth the hype I always go when im backnin town! I would get my car serviced on Tonnelle Ave and then take my son there across the street to White Manna to get burgers. Great memories❤

Matt, I used to go White Mana in JC back in the day. Looks like the quality went down dramatically thru the years smh. Like the other comments said, you should have been across the street at Ringside.

White Mana was good when my father took me there in the mid 1960's, sure it's still good. Living in Los Angeles, i.miss all the area restaurants.

The cook isn't supposed to touch the outside of the gloves while putting it on. He already contaminated it might as well use his bare hands. Supposed to hold it by the wrist part and use your index finger to pull it over.

I didn't find the White Mana in Hackensack to be memorable. At all. I respect the nostalgia and innovation, but the burgers were bland, watery, and unseasoned. Onions were tasteless and not caramelized. Disappointing.

At White Manna in Hackensack the burgers were sitting on the grill too. But they were lots busier and those burgers wouldn't stay there long. Maybe what the Jersey City White Mana (with only 1 N) needs is more business. But they're a restaurant. The food has to attract the customers.
BTW, Jersey City White Mana's building was originally built for the 1939 NYC World's Fair, and later moved to Jersey City.
Yes, yes, and yes. Hackensack was steady. Like white Castle's or most WCs, don't keep older burgers sitting on the grill long.
