  • Meet the Ferocious Puffer (Feroxodon multistriatus) we came across last week at Bundegi, Western Australia. This beautiful fish has quite a reputation, having been described as a “cross between a tadpole and great white shark”. It can be aggressive and has been known to bite off toes and (this is not a joke!) has reportedly attacked male genitalia! Lucky I had a 7mm on! It’s scientific name literally means "manystriped fierce-tooth" in reference to its colour pattern and aggressive nature!

This fish has been known to kill humans, not just because of its toxin but also because they are the equivalent to piranhas

Is it legal to kill them?
