First off, this is more than just beautiful, it’s charming, it’s uplifting, and it’s flavorful.
While casual music lovers can and will rejoice in so skilled a musician’s half-hour exploration, more studied ears will also hear influences, tastes, and background in what together becomes your style and execution. Being a rock guitarist, I’m almost ashamed to say I don’t have the acumen to recognize everything I probably should’ve, though even I could sniff out the occasional Ray or Stevie licks.
Would you mind sharing with us some of your favorite and most inspirational records in this vein?
I can’t thank you enough for posting this. It’s inspired me to go pick up the guitar and play, which is a bigger deal than you may know.
Ever felt… just gray, like you wanna play but you’re empty and can’t connect to it? Your playing conveys your fire and it’s strong enough that, at least in this moment, you’ve relit mine.
I think that’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me! Regarding music that I’m influenced by here’s a list of people and records I really like; vufpeck, vince guaraldi, Blake mills, Devon sproule, Donny Hathaway live album, Keith green is cool…, Randy Newmans sail away, also Errol garner is the bomb. That should be enough to get you started, hope it goes well.

Pro tip: this video and the hour long one sound amazing when you play them at the same time in different tabs. Really, drop the needle anywhere on each and they complete each other. Really beautiful work, thank you for uploading this

Wurli is perhaps mis-stuck in how people use it. It's great for boogies, Ray Charles type patterns, but someone like Medeski pushes it, you're using it here outside its usual used range, and it for sure works.

Hi! I recently got a wurlitzer 200, and is looking for tips on how to record these! What are your thoughts on getting the best sound from the aux output?
Congrats on the purchase! This video is just the raw audio straight into the computer which sounds pretty good (I think). Sometimes taking a bit of the low end off makes it sounds punchier which is helpful if that’s what you’re going for 🤷♂️ tube amps are good fun to play around with too, just be creative and try and find your sound!! Good luck 🤞
