The album didn’t take 10 years to make... It took 40 Days to make. The album wasn’t an album for “The Culture” the album was for “The Nation”. He cared more about how it was received by his Nation, than the industry. People know (“Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge)” ),“Exhibit A” and “Exhibit C” and think Jay hasn’t made ANY music up until A Written Testimony. Jay has had songs, penned for others, and has had numerous features within this 10 year span. This video speaks more about alleged “fans” vs Jay himself. He has ALWAYS done it his way. In fact, there are older videos of Jay saying he would never sign/partner with a label with he couldn’t have the autonomy to be himself. It’s like people saying they want an album, get a album, but say, “nah, not that album. We don’t want that.” Imagine waiting for a Basquiat masterpiece and end up saying “that’s not the artwork I wanted”. Also, being that Jay Electronica and Jay Z are both within my Top 5, people fail to see that Jay Electronica forces Jay Z to be a better mc. Whenever he does a song with Jay Electronica his lyrical content and substance completely changes! Jay didn’t mop Jay Electronica on his own album. No. Jay gave Jay the opportunity to switch the narrative and present his god/true self! There’s a lot Jay “fans” that have yet to get it. I leave with two lines from Jay; “Some ask me, "Jay man Why come for so many years you been exempt?" 'Cause familiarity don't bring gratitude just contempt” and “In the wee hours of night, tryna squeeze out bars Bismillah, just so y'all could pick me apart?”
That's an interesting view indeed. The video was indeed written from the perspective of a regular fan of the man's music. You've given me a lot to think about. Just curious, are there any particular topics/emcees you'd want me to cover in future videos?

If he didn’t get in his own head he would’ve been an all time great. He claimed it was writers block and setting too high standards that stopped him from dropping
One of the main problems of the album is that jay z was all over the album when I only wanted to hear jay electronia also jay should of put his album out in 2013 when Kendrick said what he said in control
Keep the videos coming. Such a dope channel 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
